i relistened to spiderr yesterday and its so fucking good. its not quite that different from his normal stuff, but there just slight variations in his flows and the beats that make it super unique. i think it might be becoming my favourite bladee project
I think it's why a lot of people rate it so low tho. No disrespect to the bladee/dg community, but most of the fanbase gravitates towards his old stuff (icedancer, eversince, red light etc) and whilst i like those albums, it's almost like that's all people want from bladee. They aren't as receptive to his new and more experimental stuff, i think it's a shame. All over twitter i constantly see people rate spiderr and crest pretty low when imo they're two of his best, they're just not what old fans are used to
@@mesacboy7939 i completely agree. I only started listening in 2021 ish, and i feel like that put me in a good timeline to go back and explore his old really great projects for a year and then in 2022 spiderr was the first bladee album i was there for the release. i loved it, i love crest, i love cold vision, i love psykos. at some point if bladee keeps making music for another 10 years we'll be the oldheads who cant adjust to his new stuff and talk about the old days of spiderr and crest lol. thats what truly proves how innovative and great of an artist he is. even within his fanbase there are groups of people who enjoy different eras, he's constantly changing and evolving his art. i just think people are missing out when they cant open up to the newer stuff. bladee was making wonderful albums in 2014, and he still is today. u can prefer the older stuff, but theyre equally wonderful, artistic, and innovative. bladee the goat
I like the subtle implication that this album takes place in a coma, the vital signs monitor samples and unsettling hospital ambiance, a distant haunting scream in Lovestory. Love all the circus imagery too, just thematically really dope stuff
if you want more stuff like exeter you should absolutely check out the PXE EP by ecco2k which he produced himself and is very experimental. Spiderr by bladee is also very good and shows a much more experimental side of whitearmor's production. Also once you are hungry for more hard rap warlord by yung lean is an absolute banger.
@@comments306 you can tell you are biased by your characterization of spider. Dudes literally talking about how the last few haven't hit the same and he's gonna react less lmao
@@Alex-vm6ef No no yea, I was just pointing out the reasoning behind people requesting Gluee before Spiderr. Most likely because they see it is a massive turning point and key time in bladee’s musical career, while Spiderr obviously wasn’t so much that.
4:48 that's actually accurate LMAO GOOFY AH everything I don't necessaritly agree with the fact that other project of his weren't visual before..but I can see why you think this project is more visual in the way it is presented..it's like it builds a world around you truly unique But then again everything is subjective at least in that part I love open symbols and imaginary so much Anyway take your time for drain gang NO problem But to be honest most of the songs here this project grew on me so much 16:02 I definitely recommend relistening to THE FOOL(this has literally no misses now) I have relistened to it recently and I can definitely say it's one of the bests now alongside the others( I pretty much agree with your opinion on most of the one you mentioned) with the addition of Gluee
I get how his lines seem vague, but this is only bc you dont know the thing they are referring to. If were were in a room with 500 objects and i said "can you hand me that one" it would be vague, but if the room only had 1 object the same phrasing would be highly specific. Once becoming more familiar with the referent, the thing being referenced in the music, the lyrics will no longer appear vague.
@@NoelNeedsNoise Alot of the things he talks about are references from different religions and spiritual things. A majority of his fans dont ever catch it since they are younger, but its very very profound and amazing the way he sprinkles in his different views on philosophy and knowledge etc.
Exeter is probably the most slept on album but also a highly respected album within the community. The visionary aspect of the album is so clear and makes it feel almost theatrical, from the cover art to the repetitive outro of every song to the crowd cheering at the end. In short, fucking amazing album. Also great on 🍄 lol
I feel exactly the same, i love bladee and his music, i always thought it was more experimental, but exeter definitely pushes the experimental like 10x more than any other bladee album, except maybe gluee. The vibe, the production, the delivery is so perfect. And with you being tired of too many bladee reactions, i think it makes sense, because every week you were reacting to bladee/drain gang because you had it scheduled, i think with bladee especially you have to be like "i want to listen to some bladee" and then react to a project. It keeps your mind more open and you wont feel like you do it out of necessity. Take all the time you need, ill definitely stick around for the other stuff you react to
burnout is very real and i get it so often listening to bladee. just keep in mind that thaiboy and lean make up so much of this space as well and make it feel like a much more full thing if that makes any sense whatsoever
cool reaction! you gotta add hymn to your vocab tho... its a cool word, look it up! also, first time I've heard someone recommended this project as the starting point for bladee haha!! usually its considered his most experimental which I would agree with
Listen to beauty sleep by Ecco next month please. It’s a fan made project but despite this still regarded to be one of the best drain projects by the community. It’s on TH-cam
If you want more of “different” drain gang please trust us and do PXE. Might be the most sonically out there drain gang project plus its only like 10 minutes and haves a video to accompany the EP.
i think you really should try out porter robinson. or maybe you're waiting for his new album to come out? a SMILE :D reaction and a Nurture one would be really really awesome!
