How wonderful! What a creative idea. I have several oil lamps but would never have thought of creating one out of the things you used. They look amazing once they're all done up with the faux candle and that added extra touch to make them look great was that little turn key. One thing you could use to close up the little holes are something that resembles the little knobs found on some oil lamps. They're usually on oil lamps made of metal where one would pour oil straight through a hole on the side of the lamp's body versus pouring oil through the top of a glass lamp after screwing off the oil burner.
Thank you! 💕 yes there are a few thing you could put to cover the holes. I didn’t have anything but the holes didn’t bother me. But you could definitely do that and I’m sure it would look great! 😊

This turned out so cute! If the holes bother you glue pennies over the holes before spray painting. The penny will add a historic/vintage look to your project. You could also opt for a shank button. Either way would be cute.

Love it! I have a few lanterns that were originally oil-burning, and I used to use them, but years ago no longer wanted to have the potentially dangerous oil around. Now I'm so glad I kept them as there are so many battery candles, etc. available. Recently I've been noticing different sizes of vases at DT that have great shapes for lanterns.

$1 Tree has the Hummingbird feeders in stock now.
They also have square glass jars, painted black or white with black and white checkered ribbon around the neck. There is a small key tied to this ribbon that would work great for this lamp.

I would fill the holes from where the "flower holes" are with silicone, or spackle, then paint it or, even a snowflake sticker. The uncovered holes give an undone look.... But I guess tweaking a project is what it's all about, to make projects exclusively ours. Thank you for sharing the idea.

For the "key" I know Hobby Lobby sales vintage keys. I believe it is 6 in a pack. When on sale they are under $2.
For the bird feeder part, I wonder if the dip bowls, I think you get 3 of them at Dollar Tree, would work. It wpuls be smaller in width and maybe taller but might work especially if you use the glass candle stick.

Good job! The only thing I would do differently is not glue in the hurricane - if it ever breaks you will never be able to replace it.
Thank you so much! That’s why I use the hot glue gun, because when you use hot glue and glass, it typically can break off easily. If I would have used the E6000 then I would not be able to put a new glass on it.
