    Having lived in Sai Gon for a year, both in District 1, 4 and 2, I can see why expats like D2. Yes, the prices for food and services are way more expensive compared to other areas, but my hunch is, D2 attracts Americans and Europeans because it is quieter comparatively speaking, to say D1 or D3 etc.... It's got a small-town feel to it, at least in the merchant/restaurant area. You can walk, something that is harder in other districts as the traffic is killer. D7 is also walkable and "Chill" but caters to Korean and Japanese tastes, in terms of food and offerings. D7 is truly peaceful compared to the other urban districts, despite its modernness. If you have never visited Vietnam, you'll like it, if you can accept the fact that it isn't America or Europe, the people are hard-working and kind to tourists, a friendly bunch.

    I lived in Thailand for 5 years, contemplated visiting Vietnam but seemed visa was too complicated to get at the time. Now I have a girlfriend in Ho Chi Minh and she's inviting me to come stay with her for free. Also she says there is a farm stay we can go to with guest house accommodations for $70-100 per month for both of us together and it's an organic farm with all food available. I'm excited 😊

    I stayed in the HLS studio hotel for a while, it was real affordable, located kinda in a quiet part of town and nice for long-term stays - you can even cook some meals in the room which is a huge PLUS. There's some options for locally-priced food and it is not too far from the main street in Thao Dien. Honestly, I think it's one of the better places you can get for the price with a TV to boot, highly recommend.

    First time in a long time I see a youtuber bringing some reminiscences of what is like traveling in SE Asia with out flushing money like a spoiled woke teenager aka the youtubers of today.
    Glad you didnt let those drivers to rip you off. Its not about the 1 nor 2 dollars one could safe but just PRINCIPLES.

    That first driver you approached offered to take you for 50k Dong, which is less than $2. And you seriously wanted to bargain to get it for less?! And in the end you're proud that you got it through that app for $0.55? Wow... That's sad.

      I completely disagree with you!!!! This guy as opposed most of youtubers is a real traveler, the ones that do not spoil the best places to discover. Unfortunately people like you do not understand the consequences of showing locals money pouring like water from our pockets...in any case is not about saving 1 or 2 usd its about principles, something that people like you wont understand.
      This is coming from a seasoned traveler originally from the 3rd world country before u will jump on me.
      To us 1 or 2 usd wont change our lives neither my countrymen lives its about being honest to others
      2 usd is about 400% of the real market price A REAL RIP OFF

    As a Vietnamese my self I'd say district 2 not only it's boring as f but the food price is ridiculous 🤣😂 20k for a coffee chocolate Cookie is nut!!! With 20k go to others district you'll get similar cookie but like 20 cookies not just 1. And 10 mil for that tiny space room with a boring view? Man you need to live in another district, try district 10 ha do centrosa condo , 10-15mil at least have better room more space than this. Again, district 2 is ridiculous.

But anyway if it was me I'd live right next to downtown right by the new bridge that just got built lots of new condo overthere also alot of new 1 under construction

      I really doubt that you could find a place in hcmc that does 20 vegan chocolate cookies for 20k, with that much of chocolate. 😂 I also visited the fair and that vendor did amazing cookies and the price is very cheap for the quality of what you get.

    • @trangnguyen2458
      @trangnguyen2458 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      20k for 20pieces of the same vegan chocolate chip cookies??? You are definitely exaggerating =))))) Have you ever bought the ingredients for those vegan cookies and made them by yourself? I bet you never do that. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Can't compare things with different quality with their prices. Think about it

    If you have the app just book it man why go through the random people on the street? Make no sense to me also wasting time instead of just order it in the app , also the old man said he's no grab driver he's one of the traditional dude ( what i mean by traditional dude is ... ) He's a Traditional taxi scooter driver ... Before grab and uber was a thing in the world, in Vietnam there are people who give you ride on bike from 1 place to another simply by waving at them and hop on. Anyway in Vietnam it's only grab , you just confused the local + ur self in the situation by kept saying gojek and yeah go back to my 1st point , it's just wasting time to ask people for a ride like that bruh it's the age of internet and stuff, better use your phone first before asking a real person. Also I have no idea on earth why you use gojek app while in Vietnam? Agreed that they are on the same company but for real man I'd be pissed as well if I'm traveling with you in Vietnam and find out u been using a foreigner app instead of the Vietnamese grab apps , bro what's so hard to download grab?

    • @AdamVenturesTravel
      @AdamVenturesTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had grab downloaded, I just say gojek from liviing in Indonesia before this.
