I was laughing to myself earlier, thinking Rod is definitely going to like this. I have been wanting to go bank fishing and I didn’t like the way the weather was acting the other day so I wanted to be safe than sorry and I will ended up working out really well. Tons of fun with them youngsters, they keep you on your toes.

That's my home spot, I live 5 minutes down the road from there. Last year I caught 6 trophy size species from the beach. Once u figure out the fish, they're easy to catch.
If they are there it can be a good time

I was mainly catching the small ones there about five or 6 inches right now. I lucked out and got those two big ones that you saw on camera. Plenty of little ones around and actually all over the river right now.
I do enjoy the bank vids. In fact a bank vid was how I found your channel. As I recall, Hagan mentioned it, Planer board from the bank I think it was. I still need to try that.
No, it was drifting from the bank. Now you got to see the dragging/walking version ha ha.

Yep not one striper guy. Probably cause wasn’t any out there except for a couple white bass plus it was supposed to rain and storm that morning. Really crazy because it was Sunday also ha ha

It’s usually good for a few cats and a blast on the stripers if you can get your butt in that area. I don’t have very good tolerance when it comes to getting crowded so I’m usually not over in the wall area to much

Below that dam is one of my favorite places to fish. Especially in the Winter. It can be either on fire or absolutely nothing.
The Byrd is like that. Very seldom do you get a mediocre day, most times it is either hot or dead.

Do you think the sandbar area is good too? I’ve only been there twice didn’t have much luck off the pier or the sandbar each trip

Honestly, haven’t bothered going since they shut them down. I guess we got a couple more weeks hopefully not three till they turn them back on. Usually fills up with gar when the water is low and they have them shut down

What is that rod you a using? Would a float by bait work to from snagging? Wonder if work in a eddy of river? I might try this out to.
One of them has a custom built 11ft8” Batson casting and a Saint Croix 11 foot mojo spinning. Float would be fine as long as you know your depth, and stay somewhere bottom. Good luck 🍀

Ya stupid things man. I don’t like being on camera with that. It’s one of my downfalls. but the darn fish kept hitting, so I didn’t have anywhere to put it down out of sight like in my boat. Eventually, I’m gonna give them up.
@riverlunacy good on you bro..I was just kidding about it because you mentioned it in the vid..I live about 13 miles from the mighty Mississippi in nw Tennessee..I hate them barges and don't catfish much there because of them.
But they are some absolute monsters in there for sure..I think I'm gonna get back into catfishing because I enjoyed it more..I'm a big crappie and bass guy but catfishing is 2nd ta none.

@@riverlunacy 25mins mud bottom pulled on line with only fingertips. Couldn't get him to turn around so i pain manage him to the riverbank. Second time he stayed long enough to grab him. Great spot and video bud👍
