What a family and what a story. I watched this today (12-26-2023) just hearing of Mrs Peg's homegoing. What an inspiration she was to me. Love the McKamey's - always will!! God bless you all, thanks for the documentary!
Tik Tok brought me here. Someone shared a childhood song, “God on the Mountain.” So I came here to learn more about this amazing annoited song …I listen to the song, “God on the Mountain” and I cried all night with happy tears, praising God that He’s still God during the good times and the bad times! Hallelujah! I’m going through some trials but this song comfort me. May God bless The Mckameys❤
Roger did all the music on both of my recordings. I was 9 the first time and 17 the last time. He did great both times, of course. It was such a big deal for me both times. Tree top productions is where I did the first one, and Southern Sounds for the last one. The Mckameys will always have a special place in my heart. In an industry where there has been so much change they stayed the same. That is a blessing and great testimony to me.
I love the McKameys. I love their songs, their holiness, their happiness. I especially love it when Peg kicks off her shoes. There is something that happens to me that I cannot explain when she does this it just frees my spirit. I absolutely loved it every time. I miss them so much!
My husband loved watching Mrs Mckamey Bean. He loves the spirit of God and she loved the spirit of God... God's called a lot of his children home this year ❤❤❤
I discovered the McKameys two years ago after hearing God on the Mountain by another performer on TH-cam. I had never heard the song.As I scrolled through the comments someone wrote no one can sing this song like Peg McKamey,. I found Peg McKamey Bean and was mesmerized by her spirit filled stage presence. I only wish I had found them many years ago, now that she’s with the Lord. What an amazing witness and disciple of the Lord, she was!
I love the McKameys. I would go see them every time they came close enough for me to catch the show. They have been such a blessing to me through their singing. Peg will definitely be missed. My condolences to Ruben and the family. 😢😢😢
The first time I heard God on the Mountain what a powerful song. When my wife got home I asked her if she had heard it play on her way home she said no. So i called Mr. Williams at KEXS and asked when it was to be played again. He said he had a tone of request for it and was getting ready to play it again. And he always played the extended version. I had no idea that i would carry that song and what it would mean years later around 2010 driving my 19yr old son to cancer treatment he is a twin and developed a sarcoma he did not want to go i'd fuss and fight with him he had already had radical surgery the emotions were high. When we'd start down the road he wouldn't talk to me id just drive. When we would get there he wouldn't get out of the car I would go in and check him in and he wouldn't come in till they called his name then id wave him when they were ready for him. He said Dad the medicine stinks he couldn't stand the smell. I finally had enough trying to do this on my own and I said "Lord" and when I spoke his name the tears just ran down my face and I said Lord I don't think this is a mountain i can climb. I don't think I can get over this one on my own. Your gonna have to help me. Then the words came. When things go wrong he'll make them right. And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times. The God of the day is still God in the night. He is 28yrs old now and his counts are good!! Were thankful for that. But what a blessing that song has been to us all. Thank you for all the projects ya did. But thank you for sharing this. I guess I shared too. lol Blessed are the feet that have carried the Gospel..That you can say you all have done. And did it well..
I’ve been watching gospel music since I was about 8 years old. Toronto All Night Sings twice a year. I’m 67 now. Remembered the Blackwoods, Stamps all the groups including the young Gaithers. I have never seen anyone so blessed and moving as Peg. First time I saw her was on u tube. Watched it about 10 times. Just howled when she threw off her shoes... there she goes... absolutely amazing!
You and me both. (I've been singing in Church since I was 8 years old, and copying, writing and listening to good anointed Gospel singing.) Especially the McKamey's! I am 63 now. ;)
I found this yesterday, May 27, '24, watched and shared several of these McKamey videos. Thank you for the rich blessings of listening to the music and especially the testimonies of this dear family. ❤
First time i ever heard the Mckammeys i was in Indiana. I was working in a sewing factory. A friend of mine brought me a tape cassette. She said listen to this and i was having a hard time adjusting to the change. Moving from Florida i had just remarried and it was the first time I ever left my family and Florida. One night i plugged in the Cassette and Peg was singing God on the Mountain. I just felt the love of God listening to the McKammeys.I love the way Peg would show off when the spirit of God move on her.She was a inspiration to me. ❤😢❤😢
Love the McKameys they are an inspiration from the lord! I never get tired of listening to them. They stay true to their roots no contemporary. Thank God!!!
What a blessing this family has been to the world. In my opinion the Southern Gospel Music industry is changed forever with the exit of this spirit filled group. The Lord bless you in your rest-love you.
I know they have met thousands of fans thru their career, so what I'm going to say they won't remember and that's okay. They were at a singing in Stone Gap, VA. around 1985 or 86. They were getting ready to go on stage & Eli was a baby. Maybe 5 or 6 months old, I don't remember exactly. But as they got up to go sing, his mother looked at Peg and asked "What am I going to do with the baby?" Sister Peg looked at me and asked if I would watch him. He was in a stroller asleep. I did, and as they say, the rest is history!! my claim to fame! He is still God on the mountain!!
I have listened to the Mckameys for many years. What a powerful anointing from such ordinary people. Your music brings back many happy memories for me. You have really faithfully finished your course and brought joy to many, many people.. God bless you all and thank you ❤️
I would not have been amaised at this group while in the one morning at a radio station in Jax. Fla. Anb, I played the first cut on the album. Let me tell you history was made between me and that gospel music group. This really isa Christian gospel group. I.d say from heaven.if you ever hear anything about them it is not true. I'm
IM so sorry i started late listening to this amazing group.i got started 2019,O h how you have blessed me,I had polio when i was 3 months old,im in a lot of pain and i started sing with all of you and my pain i dont hurt as much. But oh how i hate to see you stop, but i undersand.Thank you for all these songs that makes my life better.I klove you all ,may God keep you all safe.im on FACEBOOK if you would say hi or prayer i truely need.GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Absolutely wonderful video. What a blessing the Mckameys have been to millions worldwide and from such a very humble beginning. Thank you for your consistent faithfulness for the many years. It was good to see Carol again. Take care in your retirement. I love you.
Whoever pieced this video together, I want to say that your work is speaking to me. You took multiple testimonies and stories and made a story of a ministry that shows the hand, work and faithfulness of God. Thank you for your Audio/Visual ministry!
LOVE the McKamey's SO much! Always have, always will! What a blessing! And it's getting harder and harder to find very many that are that Spiritual anymore. Too many are just "Entertainer's" now, and have forgotten the whole reason and purpose that it's all about. And that's what people's hearts desire! Thank You for so many wonderful years, and for good true ANOINTED singing! God Bless ALL of You All. With much love, Tress.
The McKameys have been a special blessing to me and my family through the years. One of my fondest memories was when my Mom took me to hear them sing at the old civic center in downtown Anderson, South Carolina! My wife and I and our children have heard them through the years. Thanks for this great little documentary. God bless you all. He is still God no matter where we are! I pray His blessings on all of you!
Thank you .. nice video ... I went to a concert and they were a blessing to me ... I liked the bass singing but wished it was balanced a little louder - it was hard to hear. My favorite song at the concert was "There Was Jesus". I'm working on it now on guitar to sing at Church some time.
" They really did good"! Yes, bc the world is hungry for the anointing, when Jesus is lifted up all men are drawn to Him. They have so much more than talent, and only eternity will show the full results of their ministry. I'm so thankful to have been touched by it for years. Thank you all. ❤
I'm from close to their woods but worked a short time with a Cousin of theirs who was out of church. It was a drought and God brought a rain cloud and rain over me picking coal off a belt line and went back the way it came. He was woke up lol
Have enjoyed these people for years- sincere and wonderful Christians, with Scriptural uplifting songs. We got to see their Farewell Showcase at the NQC, September 2019. They have had more #1 songs than ANY other group in SGM history. Truly amazing.
Rest Easy With Jesus Now Peg MacKamey Bean I know you are having a great time in the Lord❤❤ I love Yall Singing such wonderful songs ❤God continue to bless and keep you safe ❤
The God on the Mountain I was caring for a handicaped person, with a speech promblem. Many could not understand her words.I heard her humming The song.I taught her the song. We went to church,i played the music and she sang THE GOD ON THE MOUNTAIN
Roger? Did you marry one of their girls? I remember you touring with the Inspirations in the late 70s & maybe 86(?)- When Mom saw you, oh my; Mike Holcomb was chopped liver & you were put at the top of her totem pole.I was in my 20s & this was over 40 years ago & I wanted to share that story with you because she thought you were the "Cat's Pajamas"!
I don't know much about the family and who is married to whom. Who is Reuben married to? They have such a testimony. I'm just trying to organize this in my mind. 🤷♀️❤
Sadly Peg passed away today. Your videos will live on to bless others souls.

My favorite group! You have helped me grow and know Jesus!
My great grandmother Dora McKamey Horton. Had no idea she was a famous singer until today.
They've scored 19 #1 hits on the Singing News Charts. They've out scored them all. Not counting all the songs that made it to #2 or even the top 5.
Iv enjoyed them as well the harmony and most of all the anointing of God that’s on their songs and life. I sang a lot of their songs in church as well
Thank you .. nice video ... I went to a concert and they were a blessing to me ...
I liked the bass singing but wished it was balanced a little louder - it was hard to hear.
My favorite song at the concert was "There Was Jesus".
I'm working on it now on guitar to sing at Church some time.
We were raised on the MaKameys. Mom played her records all the time. Good memories.
God Bless Y'alls 🙌 🙏 ❤️ I listen to Y'alls on my Satilite radio 📻 just about every day
