Would you be able to explain what happens to the permissions when a folder is move on same volume or different one? Thank you!

Not sure if you'll see this comment seeing as how it's been a few years since you made this video. I have a question. Say I have a Folder structure like, Folder 1, inside Folder 1 is Folders 2-10, and in each Folder 2-10 there are 3 folders. What I need to do is give users read only access to the root folder (Folder 1) and then Folders 2-10, add specific users modify access to each different folder. The folders within Folders 2-10 will inherit from their parent folder. If I give 'Everyone' (group) read only access to the root folder, disable inheritance with Folders 2-10 from the root Folder, and give specific users modify access to Folders 2-10, even with disabled inheritance, will the specific users I add in each Folder 2-10 be able to modify or will they still only have read only permissions? Would I need to add 'Everyone' (group) in the root folder with modify permissions and then in each subsequent Folder 2-10 add each specific user with modify permissions? If so, would this keep User A from being able to access the folder only User B should have access to? Basically I'm trying to figure out how to add users to the root folder as read-only but then give the specific users modify access to their specific folder without allowing users access to folders they don't need access to.
Hopefully I didn't make that overly complicated and I made some sense. This video made a lot of sense to me but I unfortunately don't have a sandbox to work in and I don't want to make too many adjustments and cause all sorts of issues until I know exactly what I'm doing is going to work. TIA if you do see this and can help out.

I think I get what you want to do by how you explained it, at least I hope I do
Is this by any chance for a File Server or something similar?
Sounds like you have one main folder (The Root) which everyone needs to be able to get into and from there, they should only be able to get into their own respective folders. In the main folder they should only have Read permission and in their own folder they should have read/write or modify permission. On all other sub-folders they should have no permissions
Assuming I understand your situation correctly, there is multiple ways you can do this but one way would be to start with the main folder (The Root) and to add the "everyone" group. You then give this everyone group the "Read" permission but only that. This will then automatically be passed down to all the sub-folders inside if inheritance is turned on for the sub-folders.
The main folder (The Root) should be correctly configured now. Now you need to go to each folder and remove the everyone group which will in turn now remove the "read" permission for everyone on each sub-folder keeping them out of each other's folders.
You then need to add the specific user who the folder will belong to and from there you give them the "Modify" permission or "Read/Write" depending on your situation. Be careful not to remove yourself as administrator from the folder otherwise you could end up locked out.
The above mentioned should do the trick but I'd test it out first and make sure.
Hope this helps and that you manage
