I've never heard the fender, but i do own the Stanmore 2 and its very hard to imagine something sounding as crisp and loud in a small package as that. I love the marshall.
Despite the fender being off axis and the Marshall dead on, the fender sounds washy in the mids. I do like how forward the mids sound in the Fender, but there is just too much distortion / nonlinearity for me *from this test*. And having said that, it would be much more helpful if there were a song with a clean forward vocal (male and female preferably) to really decide which is the winner. The zakk wylde song was probably not the optimal choice - but thanks for putting in the effort to shoot these out.
I have heard both in person and the Fender sounds better than the Stanmore. It would be a fair comparison with the Woburn since the Stanmore is a smaller speaker.
Im between the two to buy..but some people defend marshall signature sound to death and say that Monterey is lacking in volume and I dont think so .Wish I could listen to them in person too.

Multi-room doesn't seem to have any real importance unless the speaker system can be utilized for simultaneous backing tracks of Bass lines and drum tracks through the usage of apps that are also arranged with wave hand gesture command on que such as a maestro do for giving the overall collective that he or she has within his ensemble of musicians that are delivering introduction chorus versus Bridges outros etc etc
Listening with studio headphones here; Marshall wins; beter trebles, better separation of tones in general/ transparant, tighter bass. At least, to my ears...

I've had both too, but kept the Stanmore! Much tighter bass. The Fender had way too much bass for me, even with the bass off. I couldnt fix it by adding more treble, that made the sound to fizzy. No way possible to get a realistic sound. Stanmore all the way. And another personal favour are the esthetics of this one.

I have a woburn and it died after a year. The thing is i moved and had the woburn in its box for year. It worked for a month and won't turn on. I played it 20 hours tops. The marshall people won't replace it and I have a $600 paperweight that looks very cool.
One day he will learn to play blues properly.Not saying he can’t play,just to busy and a metal tone.Any the Marshall for Rawk and Fender for everything else

i like the Fender, seems more balanced and wider sound stage than marshall. The marshall obviously leans on the warmer sound.
