Oh I love the cosy ambience of your bedroom setup. It was a bit chilly at -4C in my wee bit of Scotland this morning, no doubt you’re going to get a lot chillier than that. What beautiful surroundings you have and I love your filming. Stay warm 🤗
Praise the gods of algorithms for suggesting your video to me. First few minutes into the video and I'm thinking: Hmmm, I wonder if he's a biker. 😊 How self sufficient you are. A doer. Thanks for letting us in.
Amazing stuff as always! Keep it going! Really excited to see the winter day to day up there. Weather is fairly similar to what we have here in Finland.
New subscriber here. Your “moving video” popped up in my feed and I watched it and can relate to the annoying karaoke!! I don’t mind dogs barking because I have two little ones myself, but we keep them under control. I’m from British Columbia, lived here all my life, and I’m at the age where I want to start spending more time on life than work. As much as I enjoy my career, my wife and I are now looking to get out of the Fraser Valley and move somewhere either to the West Kootenay’s or up near your neck of the woods. All those little towns strung along the Yellowhead Highway (Hwy 5) have charm and potential for affordable acreage. I’m looking forward to watching your other videos and new ones that you will be producing. Thanks so much!
Hey you're welcome. Born and raised in the lower mainland myself. I looked around the west kootenays as well but ultimately settled in Clearwater, almost solely because of the shops on this property. If you're going to look up the Yellowhead keep in mind that the railroad runs up and down this valley. They don't really bother me that much but I can still hear them. If you want to come this way, I would really look along Hwy 24 between Little Fort and 100 mile. No trains, no logging trucks and lots of lakes. It's very peaceful over there. Thanks for watching.
@ Thanks for your reply. I was born in North Van in 63. Been in BC my entire life but lived in various regions throughout my years. Spent most of my time in Abbotsford where I reside currently. I recognize your previous location in Aldergrove. Not too far from where I am now. I don’t mind the railroads as I spent much of my youth in Kamloops living a block away from the CN mainline in Brockelhurst. Trains and railroads are part of my DNA.
@@i.b.lancer you’re very welcome!!! I can’t say enough good things about them. Your voice, music selection, video quality is 👌🏽 looking forward to seeing what you’re doing next:)
Wow, just beautiful there! Not sure how your channel popped up, but can't wait to see more videos. Not much winter prep needed in my area (southeast US), but I really love colder weather. Looking forward to winter & future videos!
nice relaxing video .in uk we get little snow were i live but it damp and grey ,,my winter prep is bring in my garden chairs and do a massive dry goods shop ,i have a dehumidifier
I discovered blackout curtains / thermal lining. Looks like they are going to work extremely well. Wish I knew about them sooner. They are heavy, so the rod needs to be sturdy. They claim to keep some excess heat out in the summer as well. Sure hope so!
I watched two videos before this one. I said to myself, he seems kind and nice we’re is his beloved? I thought he would look good on a bike. Then he shows the beast! Enjoy the beautiful weather.
Great getting ready Video ! I use to do that on my old place but the new cabin on my homestead now has better windows :) My big push was getting my siding on after I had a booboo with a saw Canada Day :( but got it done so now cleaning up & maybe get back to some milling for my next project ! I have some fishing & fun video's but mostly work around my off grid home :) Take care stay warm"
There is municipal water running through town, but I’m not on it. And there is no sewer. Everyone here has septic. And there’s no stores really, there’s one little gas station and a post office. That’s it.
Very good video very good I liked it so when the first started where is that place at that is very beautiful I would love to visit that place and check you all out up there so please let me know I'm very interested thank you sir
@@i.b.lancerI remember the first house I bought up in Whitehorse from the feds (old RCMP house) in 1995….same thing. It was expensive even then to replace the old windows so I get it that you keep using the older ones. You can always replace one at a time. We are not too far north that it gets too bad in winter.
Well I've only been here a month, not really any time to replace anything at this point. I'm just covering the bases to get me through the winter and I'll plan for a spring update. There's a lot to update on this house, just about everything is original 1957... It's kind of amazing actually. Also, I got another two cords of wood delivered yesterday and I spent all day today splitting it up. I thought I better have some extra wood just in case.
What is your business and how you afford all of this? I make 50k a year may as well be making 5k a year ain’t no different in living standards I still can’t afford a house or anything unless I want to be dead broke for 30 year motgage giving them all my pay til I die

We’ve been lucky so far. Only -1 but snowing a wee bit at night so seems colder. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
Aloha from the North Shore of Oahu! Its a beautiful place you got, keep up the good work and enjoy the winter!
Great video. I had aluminum windows but got new ones before winter by the Grace of God. Thank you for showing us an alternative.
Thanks for watching. Next summer I'm going to look at new windows.
Hi Lancer, really enjoying the progress on your new place. Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome. Thanks for coming by.
No.the video was not long enough 😊 I look forward to seeing what you've been up to.
Awe, thanks. You’re too kind.

Yes, I am having a blast up here.
When you can hear your neighbor firing up the snowmobile, that's a sure sign that the land provides.

Will be a very comfy bedroom on those wintry nights. On the old house we had, we did these kind of frames; I used a hair dryer on the plastic. 👍🏻
Nice. Love the views and best of all the silence.❤

I love the black stain color of your house, offset by the white trim and fake shutter surrounds.
It definitely helped in my decision to buy this place.
You certainly live in a beautiful spot.
Thank you.
Great surroundings. What a contract from your previous property.
flannel sheets... 👍
Love your videos. Keep them coming please
Replace your light bulbs with 2700 it'll give a nice warm glow to the space

How are the amenities in this new small town? Is there running water and sewer from the municipality there or not?
There is municipal water running through town, but I’m not on it. And there is no sewer. Everyone here has septic. And there’s no stores really, there’s one little gas station and a post office. That’s it.
The land is so beautiful there. Any chance of an upgrade to a 4k camera? :)
I’ll work on that.
They are called storm windows

Pretty much anywhere in the province of British Columbia, Canada.
Holy smokes! You have to heat with oil up there? Did that in Whitehorse for a long time.
I couldn't get that furnace going. I heat with wood.
Love your videos.. nice place.. From india
Namaste. 🙏
Single pane windows in Canada?
This house was built in the 50’s. Double pane windows didn’t become the standard until the 70s.
@ I didn’t know that, thanks for the info.
Wow those are some old windows!
Well, it’s an old house. It was built in 1957 and pretty much everything is original.

Are we allowed to know your first name? I live in an almshouse in the UK and i have secondary double glazing and sash windows.😊

The air in between acts like insulation. Maybe you should caulk around them
See next time
nice harley but single pane windows priorities ??
I bought that bike 9 years before I ever moved into this old house. Jumping to conclusions much?
Can you afford to buy new double glazed windows? I guess not till next year?
Ridiculous question
