Jaquetta Brown This wasn't even his adult voice, it was his adolescent one. I only wish his rendition of "Somewhere" was on here - that really is his adult voice, and there is no finer version of a song covered by many high profile artists.
He sounds great with his lower voice. The same power and richness as when he was a boy soprano, and as always, the incredible way he orchestrates a song.
Whomever said Frankie totally lost his voice when he matured, was VERY wrong! Fans, record producers, and labels couldn’t fathom that he grew up. They couldn’t get passed that he wasn’t that kid with the powerful soprano voice. Frankie had more of a crooner sound as an adult. His “new” voice would’ve made him a perfect fit for Vegas and doing Sammy Davis, Sinatra, Nat King Cole type of material. Too bad he never had a chance to expound on that.
Nina Childs Productions Totally understandable. Not only was his voice beautiful, but his life outside his career was intriguing, even though his death was tragic.
me too n also disappointed in my fellow man for using him and throwing him out into the world with nothing like he was nothing. His adult voice was great and they hid it away from the world and made him feel worthless and useless
I love it! His mature voice is beautiful and manly! The people of his era were stupid to not like his mature voice. Some people wouldn't know talent if it bit them in the ass! Rest in peace Frankie! Your talent, style, and music lives on in the hearts of many!!! A true legend indeed!
I remember Frankie of 56 and 57 being the same age and being the lead singer of my own Doo Wop group called the Spotlites I never made money but it was fun. The bums running the business clipped these youngsters something awful but I would love to do it again. They were called sock hops back in the day but we were never even close to Frankie and The Teenagers but Accapella with no music was great and the harmony from our throats was as good if not better. I'm 75 now but the 50's was where it all started In hallways for the echo and standing on the corner under a street light I wishI could build a time machine and go back, what a time.
The first song ."Since The Beginning of Time" shows us how great of a voice and how rich in it's tone...Frankie singing that song was better than anyone else who was big at the time... Love his voice and his style and inflections....
listening to Frankie singing as an adult makes me cry. He was brought into the industry at such a young age. I wish we could have seen more of him later on in life. Although he died way before my time, all I could say is that he will truly be missed.
listening to his adult voice, I believe the Producers that would not give him a break, crapped in their own nests...as they could have made a bundle off Frankie....his adult voice far surpasses that of Sinatra. I cant believe how beautiful, and full of feeling his adult voice was.....
How I hate addiction how I hate heroin it is taken way too many people from us with such talent. I could only imagine how much farther he could have gone with that voice. He was born to sing
Boy I like his adult voice better than I like his childhood voice may God bless Frankie lymon and the people that messed him over in the teenagers they're going to reap what they sow this dude's music will forever live I thank God for creating a person like Frankie lymon
Watching in 2021. Watched Why do fools fall in love a few days ago and been obsessed with Frankie lymon ever since. Breaks my heart what happened to him 💔
Oh man his voice is tremendous, all this time I thought they said his career ended because his voice changed... Obviously it had something else to do with the times
My mom grew up with this music and as a musician I find it very intriguing, he was everything but when his voice changed due to puberty they were like nah we're good, heroine didn't help 10 years of fame and then gone... He could a made a massive comeback with out relying on the 50s shit
Beautiful voice. It’s so sad. These drugs are still claiming lives. Smh RIP Frankie. I just lost my cousin last week to OD. Wish mr lymon could sing to me 😢😭
It's a pitty having lost this great artist in a very young age to drugs and the world around him (who didn't appreciate his adult voice) - cannot hear his songs enough 💖
Damn he could sing. I think what happened was his MUSIC did not adapt to the soul era. He passed away around the time The Temptations, Aretha, and Marvin Gaye were tearing the charts up. He would have kept up with them definitely.
I think with his last recording, 'Seabreeze', he was gearing up to make that transition to more soulful music. Unfortunately he passed after he just got his new record contract. One of the biggest musical losses; he would've been an amazing soul singer.
Even after his voice changed he had a really nice voice. The record buying public didn't think so. They wanted the little kid. Either he or his management tried to make him another Bobby Darin and gave him stuff that was too pop sounding.
He had a golden voice, wish his undocumented PTSD didn't get the best of him...... There's only rare footage, a few hits, broken marriages and horror stories left in his memory !🤦♀️😔😔😔
The piano demos are interesting - I particularly like I'm Not Too Young, which I can imagine hearing with the Teenagers doing the backing vocals in a real doo-wop mix. I think with the right material and management - and some personal discipline - he could have still rocked out and not gotten lost in the middle-road stuff most rockers were channeled into after a while. That said, The Joke, with its bigger arrangement, works well for him even though the song is not A-list material to my ears. Ah, what might have been....
I am confused of why the music industry thought he was no longer good anymore??? His adult voice in Seabreeze is better than kid frankie. Don't get me wrong, I like his time when he was a child but he could've still made a even good if not, better career than he did when he was still a kid!
He sounds so good young or old why they do him like that when he got older even black record labels should had tried to intervene they probably thought he was a crossed over sell out or something cause i never heard of any of them trying to help him out
Funny to listen to his depth and range as an older man myself. He was killed because of the mere power and momentum his resurgence would have been. Drug addiction is normal in entertainment...but it does not stop many...Kieth Richards comes to mind.
They had him singing bad songs , ughhh ... By that time he would of been old enough to write his own songs that reflected his own life ... I felt that is what would of saved his career .. Not Singing smaltzy crooner songs that had already gone out of fashion ! Bad management - but hey the man tried - THe only song that was remotely decent they had him singing was towards the end
Did anyone every try to set up a Las Vegas gig for Frankie? This type of music would have been perfect for Vegas, of course he would never have made top-of-the-charts money, but that happens to lots of artists. When did drugs start to take over his life?
Anyone who can hold a tune accompanied with just a piano has to have talent, as is proved here. Frankie should have stayed with the teenagers, who knows where they would have ended up, especially with the upturn in Doo-Wop interest at the turn of the decade. Anywhere was preferable to the outcome. What a total waste of a group of talented lads.
Thats true. My guess is that was one of his last recordings and his adult voice wasnt the same, my take is his voice suffered a lot from the 17-20 year old to the 22-24 year old, in that last song he didnt do any runs, no sustain no vibrato no nothing, the special quality of his throat wasnt there. Maybe he had a bad day in the studio or he was high who knows but if its Frankie thats ok for me.
The man could sing at any age.He was a soulful rock & roller.
Frankie's era was not ready for his adult voice! His voice is beautiful... make you wanna cry!! No artist voice is like that today
Jaquetta Brown This wasn't even his adult voice, it was his adolescent one. I only wish his rendition of "Somewhere" was on here - that really is his adult voice, and there is no finer version of a song covered by many high profile artists.
Jaquetta Brown agreed
Mj and jb had nun on frankie
I concur
I agree. His voice is mesmerising
He sounds great with his lower voice. The same power and richness as when he was a boy soprano, and as always, the incredible way he orchestrates a song.
Why were we denied this amazing version of such a talented man? Wow!
His story hurts my heart deeply R.I.P Frankie

The most relaxing voice ever! Would NEVER forget him
this is crazy! I have no clue why these were unreleased! His range is still amazing in his adult voice!
I agree, these are master pieces that none of us know about!
i AM completely and totally obsessed with this dude.

Yes indeed,,,, makes you mad sometimes 😤
Been fascinated with Frankie after watching the 1998 biographical film "Why Do Fools Fall In Love."
I remember Frankie of 56 and 57 being the same age and being the lead singer of my own Doo Wop group called the Spotlites I never made money but it was fun. "The echo & street light"...Thanks 4 the wonderful visual. I'm an 80s baby(= ❤

Frankie was the greatest...such great tone to his voice. There will never be another like him....!!
He had a beautiful vibrato

No one can make me feel as emotional as Frankie did. Listen to Silhouettes, Footsteps, Diana. I almost cry every time. Rest in Peace wonderful soul.
I like his Silhouettes better than the original
Im crying 😢 cus i cant believe how they did my sweet pea😢 he didnt deserve this world.. beautiful soul
So sad. I would’ve loved to have been able to look back and seen more of his work. Gone too soon.
That first song took me out..he has a beautiful voice and always have..rih Frankie
I love his voice as an adult. Legendary.
Oh my God
Im blown away. Ive never heard his grown up voice. I love these songs.
Watching in 2021. Watched Why do fools fall in love a few days ago and been obsessed with Frankie lymon ever since. Breaks my heart what happened to him 💔
Frankie the legend
Touching, heart wrenching, tender, nuanced, Lymon...
And you can still hear the younger voice in there just a bit, oh how 9 love his voice, what a gift from God
Iam Crying Brilliant What a Voice RIP FRANKIE LOVE YOU MAN
Wow! I never knew these great songs existed. He had such a beautiful voice.
Oh man his voice is tremendous, all this time I thought they said his career ended because his voice changed... Obviously it had something else to do with the times
what a beautiful voice.....if anyone deserved a break and a chance for a come back Frankie Lymon did
Simply beautiful voice Frankie.
Dude has an amazing “adult voice”
These idiots could have made tons of money recording him
Frankie's adult voice was meant for Las Vegas. Reminds me of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., even Wayne Newton.
The power wow
My mom grew up with this music and as a musician I find it very intriguing, he was everything but when his voice changed due to puberty they were like nah we're good, heroine didn't help

Everything he sang he sang perfectly.....
I literally need a dose of frankie everyday😍😘 r.i.p best singer ever🙏
Veezuz Amazing I definitely understand. His voice was unique.
My whole 2024 so far 🥹

Lily Ezuma yes it is totally agree with you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You're a real fan because you have this before it was released a few years ago on MP3 thanks for this :-)
Blessed are they is amazing.
It's a pitty having lost this great artist in a very young age to drugs and the world around him (who didn't appreciate his adult voice) - cannot hear his songs enough 💖
gotta keep coming back to these
Blessed are They... beautiful 💛
Unreal... Still one of the most beautiful voices in the industry
Frankie is one of those super rare talents that could literally sing the phone book and have you dancing or swooning.
This is a beautiful song.
5:20 this song just puts me in a good place. His Voice makes me so happy and sad at the same time. Just perfect
The first song is sad u can hear in his voice he hurt and wish he had a regular childhood..this make me sad to listen to him sing
Rip Frank 😭
Exactly I feel that way too
What a talented soul!
Karen Bouldin Karen please love me I'm so lonely
Tv one should do an Unsung of Frankie Lymon tell the real story . this picture of Frankie Lymon He is so handsome
I wish PBS would
Damn he could sing. I think what happened was his MUSIC did not adapt to the soul era. He passed away around the time The Temptations, Aretha, and Marvin Gaye were tearing the charts up. He would have kept up with them definitely.

He would have been more like Johnny Mathis......May he rest well....All the pain is over now my brother.....
Amen
Even after his voice changed he had a really nice voice. The record buying public didn't think so. They wanted the little kid. Either he or his management tried to make him another Bobby Darin and gave him stuff that was too pop sounding.
I think the public would have liked him just fine. He was just so horribly mismanaged
There was nothing wrong with his adult voice. He matured and this what happens when you mature
He had a golden voice, wish his undocumented PTSD didn't get the best of him...... There's only rare footage, a few hits, broken marriages and horror stories left in his memory !🤦♀️😔😔😔
I have some rare photography it's In my brain I had a dream tonight And Frankie was in it felt so real man rip😫😫
!!!🎶NEVER GETS OLD🎶!!!
UNBEATABLE

I say time and time again young Jermaine Jackson sounded real similar to adult Frankie
I agree.. very soulful. Effortlessly soulful. 💯
I am confused of why the music industry thought he was no longer good anymore??? His adult voice in Seabreeze is better than kid frankie. Don't get me wrong, I like his time when he was a child but he could've still made a even good if not, better career than he did when he was still a kid!
Exactly

Funny to listen to his depth and range as an older man myself. He was killed because of the mere power and momentum his resurgence would have been. Drug addiction is normal in entertainment...but it does not stop many...Kieth Richards comes to mind.
Please be sensible, he died from an OD. He was good but not to the point that it got him killed, that's ridiculous 😂
Rip Mr. Doowop

MickTheQuickk he started doing drugs at 15
@@lavendernoire7387 he was introduced to it by a woman twice his age
That's my honey
Miel Miel Understandable. He had swag, and he was talented.

Silly and ignorant about what?
You know nothing about voice. Holding a tune has nothing to do with it.
Don't go in for talent spotting.
What's the name of this song at 9:06
The Joke
13 minutes, 1 picture
If you took Dean Martin's personality and put it in a 13 year old kid, you'd get Frankie
That’s his voice or somebody else
The guy and his picture is his manager
That last one don't sound like the rest of these
