ABOUT FOSSILFUEL 2:
Navigate the nonlinear underground base of the Sierra Research Institute, now flooded, while being relentlessly pursued by towering dinosaurs. With 12 hours of heart-pounding FPS survival horror gameplay and a whole cast of prehistoric enemies, can you outwit nature's dangers and escape?
Nothing is funnier in a horror situation than a trope savvy protagonist with common sense, and a healthy dose of sarcasm. I absolutely love the *opens door*, "Nope." *shuts door* kind of stuff you do.
14:25 "It's not going to hear me sneaking past it, it's going to hear my heartbeat." *proceds to shine a flashlight directly into it's face*
I was so ready for it to wake up at this point.
I wanted a picture to be taken, just to see what would happen.
You know I’ve always loved that echo effect you put in when talking while in caves etc, it’s always a nice touch.
I use to think I was crazy when it happened
It adds immersion but him yelling when walking past the sleeping dino makes it 10x funnier
I caught on to that at first when he opened the map the first time and thought it was pretty cool
My brother would think it was part of the game.
Long-time fan and philosophy professor here! In academic circles, your question about why people seek out terrifying/otherwise unpleasant aesthetic experiences is often called the “paradox of horror.” Lots of theories have been put forward regarding why we’re drawn to e.g. scary games, horror movies, etc. One theory is that it triggers an adrenaline rush within a controlled environment, and that we get addicted to the chemical high of our brains/bodies sensing they are in danger when we’re actually safe (sort of like eating a hot chili pepper-your brain produces a ton of endorphins because it thinks your mouth is literally on fire, but you’re fine and those endorphins feel good). Another theory is that we’re drawn to horrifying and tragic fictions because they allow us to simulate/prepare for bad circumstances should they ever arise in real life (it’s evolution’s way of giving us a dress rehearsal for emergencies, so to speak). Whatever the explanation, I’m very glad you do it and bring us along for the ride :)
So funny story...the fish that ate u when trying to inspect the submarine is a Dunkleosteus, and is my favorite "dinosaur" of its era. Super massive bone head with basically 2 giant bone shovels for teeth that tear its prey apart. Amazing animal, and very unheard of by most
A like minded individual! I immediately recognized it from playing Fossil Fighters, Jurassic World The Game, and Jaws Ultimate Predator.
It is a really cool prehistoric creature.
I've found kindred spirits!
dunkleosteus is not a dinosaur
@@garioncantwell7100 thats why i said "dinosaur" with quotations...its technically a placoderm fish, but was around similar time periods
@@bunny1780Yeah,we Just say dinossaus because It is easier than saying "Placoderm fish"
I think one of the reasons dinosaurs are scarier than other horror monsters is the fact that they were actually real, so them being brought back to life is not too far-fetched.
I'm the same with the ocean. I'm terrified of storms at sea, but I'll stop anything I'm doing to watch a video of rogue waves or crazy weather hitting ships. I'm equal parts terrified and fascinated. Anyway, love your vids!
Same. I hate the ocean yet love stories like the Atlantic and titanic
same here, terrified of the ocean… yet i live right on the Pacific Coast of WA.
btw…. AATW
You may be a bit of an adrenaline junky, but that is totally ok. The fact that you want to experience your fear, and conquer it says a lot about your character. No one can ever call you a coward. Thanks again for another great video!
u do realize it’s a video game right?
@@kingofpersia4559 Lol yea i don't wanna be rude or make anyone think i don't understand the context of things. But watching movies, playing games, etc. is a voluntary action with intention to have fun. And yes, while it can actually develop extra "balls" for some real life situations as well, but mostly, to develop any real character, you need to play real life, experience real fear of death, or else, the character you built while playing games, will be as real, as the games themselves- mostly imaginary.
@@Samagoselen
And when do you think we’ll have to deal with resurrected dinos/megs/etc.? 😂
True, you do need to face the real thing to get over it, but video games are a start and are the closest people can get without endangering themselves. Or facing a price barrier in some cases.
Personally, I fear the deep sea, not because of what’s down there, but because of the weight and density of the water. Maybe I would consider it if the relevant vessel was secure, well tested, I knew roughly how it worked, and could afford it. 🤔 However, unless that were the case, I’d say the fear was more than warranted and should not be ‘got over’ because at that point it’s just survival instinct and reasoning.
So, I’ll stick to scuba diving and swimming. 🤿
Video games can take care of the rest!
And, some people won’t play these games or can’t watch them without a jumpscare list. I’d say it’s good enough if you don’t chicken out on the game.
@@RosinaEmilyW Yea ofc, i'm a gamer all my life. You can learn and experience a lot from games. So my comment was not meant to be too serious, just captain obvious stuff that was in my mind wanting to express the difference of real life fear and character building. And there is no real need for anyone to go risk their lives to build character. Better to be little "softer" and just build characters in character creation screen, rather than doing stupid shit and winning stupid prizes.
you can still get adrenaline rushes or dopamine highs from games. Not sure why y'all acting like you can't lmao
if you play 62 real days' worth of Ark Survival you'll know exactly what dinosaurs are eating you
Yeah that is true
Please tell me your Gaming pc specification write down your description pc specification. 😊
62 real days! 😮
@@keyurgaming7606that was very direct to the point 😂 no messing around I like it, tell me your height age to the exact minute and the width of your thumb
Yo facts, I played ark for a good few years🤣
One the coolest things I did, imo, was put my hand in a utahraptors print. Knowing that it step there over 120 million years ago and its still there is just so fricking cool to me. I love dinos
Starting to binge a lot of your content. Not a horror fan but you make things less scary somehow. Love what you're doing! Can't wait to see more ❤
Guy: Gets crushed by massive cargo container.
Fooster: Are you ok???
Foos the change in voice when you were in the water was a nice little touch! I love how into those games you get.
CONGRATS ON A MILLION SUBS, ive watched 99.9999% of your the videos, keep up the amazing content you make horror less scary for the some of us, and youre a completely humble and awesome person, and you always find a way to make me laugh more then once in any video lol keep up the videos fooster!!!!! i honestly cant count how many games ive bought after watching you play it lol
how wholesome. youre a great dude for donating!
Thank you very much ❤️
@@thefoosterchannel - Exposing yourself to your fears, whether gradually (systematic desensitisation) or suddenly (flooding) are both psychological treatments to try and reduce them. This isn't quite the explanation you were probably seeking at the start of the video, but it is in the right general area. I get that your question was probably more philosophical rather than clinical.
This dude is stepping his game up. Not only does he introduce me (a 30+ year veteran of pc gaming) to new games, he keeps my lonely butt cozy before bed and it feels like I'm with a legit friend.
Dude. What type of dog excels at stage magic?
A labracadabrador retriever.
Sorry. Your name triggered that joke.
@@ColdHawk the finest jokes are the lame ones. I love it
Fooster, I think that generally "The Call of the Void" could be the phenomenon you are thinking. While not specifically a direct correlation it does describe risk taking or a draw to something construed as dangerous. While "The Call of the Void" is usually associated with the urge to jump from high places it can also be attributed to general draw to danger.
It's good that they used the correct name for the raptor unlike the ones in the films. This game shows potential and with some work to make the game more fluid it will do well.
Fooster is the best horror game player I’ve ever watched tbh. Watched him growing up and never have stopped.
Fooster it's called "facing your fears and overcoming them". And another amazing video, love the personality you put into your content!
I always love your attention to detail when throwing on the voice alterations when in a cave or inside of a bunker in this case... immersion always amazing... and I love your ability to story tell...
Thank you Frankie lmao 😅😅 I mean Fooster... seriously though... thank you! Sincerely.
Any OG Dino Crisis players in here👋😎 the good old days
I don't normally care about yourubers, dont really take much time for it. But i like to fall asleep to something on the tv. (Hence how i found your channel.) To quote a Fooster Easter Egg, you are the master story teller haha! I really enjoy your videos, please dont stop :). P.S (I dont care if you make a video, but..) You like dinosaurs right? Take some time to enjoy the dino crisis games! The 2nd is definitely my favorite!
My brother loved DC2!
@@thefoosterchannel Yes! Awesome! They really have a good atmosphere and environment. I loved those games as well if you couldn't tell from the avatar haha X). You're 'The Isle' videos are also really cool too! Keep going man, don't give up. You have such a natural feel to your videos. That's what sets you apart.
I'm the same way with raptors. They're fast and intelligent. Makes me use my brain more and press buttons faster. It's not so much the fear but the "oh crap"!
Fooster the thing your describing in the beginning is called "The call of the void"
😮
This gives me a sort of Resident Evil vibe, like some of the inventory and item mechanics and the corny dialogue/VA that honestly doesn't take away from the experience but just works.
I miss the Dino hunting game so I'm up for any Dinosaur games with Fooster in it.
I absolutely love your videos, Fooster! :)
Stumbled upon your channel fairly recently. Really love your content! Earned a sub!
Welcome in and thank you
🤣 "guy squished by a container", Fooster: HAHAHA! ARE YOU OKAY!? 🤣🤣🤣
What’s awesome is that cut shotgun shells are actually a thing. They call them the poor man’s slugs lol. I love how they added that in!
That lockpicking mechanic is nearly spot on, but they still left out the tensioning tool! It's very difficult to pick a pin-tumbler lock without putting torque on the cylinder to lock the pins in place, but the sideview inside the lock was 👌👏
90's dino image, created by Spielberg, is highly influential and emblematic. Easily recognisable. It is a culmination by itself. The imagination evocated by dinosaurs since they've been discovered met the revolutionary technology and the 90's thriller spirit. What's more important about the raptor's image is it's vitality, ferociousness, intellectual capacity and the immense speed. It's smaller size (compared to a T-rex) makes it more immediate threat to humans than any other Dino which creates better connection with the viewers. All that combined creates an image extremely relatable to the ALIEN. And perhaps there lies your instinctive reaction to the word combination RAPTOR HORROR GAME.
P.S. Some JAW'S vibes at the beginning...
Bro the moment of silence and the way you pulled out your shotgun before the hybrid busted down the door got me crying☠☠☠
Cage, a self-proclaimed history buff, outbid Leonardo DiCaprio in 2007 for a 70-million-year-old dinosaur skull that cost him $276,000. The artifact turned out to be stolen though and in 2015, the Weather Man star had to return it to the Mongolian government
wow this game is nuts im sure a few are going to overlook it but his weapon is rusting over time
I thought I noticed that too I believe it was also on the gloves
24:13 No way you literelly Jumpscared me, by just attacking him 😂
I think in these horror dinosaur games most developers don't make dinosaurs' smell senses realistic because in that case the player couldn't hide and survive for long but I'd really like to see a game made with a smell mechanic too
Proud of you fooster ive been here since the forest episode 25 or 35 in cant remember so long ago you got me through some hard times happy you made it to a million bro!
This game has huuuge potential, and would love to see you play more of this version!
1) This boss fight was too easy- just circle and shoot. Hard for a big dino boss to be anything different, but this is where creativity is needed. Maybe each boss could have specific targets you have to disable, the Jurassic Park arcade games do that. There are other options too- but yeah that boss fight needs work
2) Large map- this game reminds me so much of Arkham Asylum in its layout, which is good. They should really try to push their limits on how big they can make this map.
3) Story- these types of horror-adjacent games can really benefit from deeper backstories, even if they don't actually affect gameplay. Piecing together the haunting truth of what happened is a really fun aspect of these types of games. But the moral of the story should not be the same "science has gone too far" theme, at least that shouldn't be the only one. It's so overdone.
But man these models looks good, the animation and cutscenes have been pretty good. Excited to see where it goes, and I'm excited to see you play it!
“I can’t word when I’m this scared” - Fooster 2023 😂
Great video! I would love to see the first game and more of this one when not in demo mode anymore. Seems like they put a lot of effort into this game. And you did a pretty darn good job of playing as well. Keep up the amazing work!
Oh no, you put the power back on!! Nothing bad in a horror game ever happens when we power the computers back up...
Lol this game is pretty dope.
Thanx for introducing us to the demo bro👍🏻✌🏼
“Mr Hammond I think we’re back in business” 😏
@@thefoosterchannel perfect quote 👌
36:12 "...not only strong, but poisonous, too."
Oh, ok. So, as long as I don't eat it, I'll be good! Now, if it was _VENOMOUS_ I'd be in trouble...
It's called being a masochist. General term, not the sexual, but hey no kink shaming here. You keep doing you!
Hahaha
You underestimate my acceptance of entertainment Fooster, I would love to watch a goofy dinosaur horror 😂.
Cut shells is a dead art. Basically you cut around the shell but the cut should go just above the start cut. It makes a slug that gives range and power. I actually learned it myself when I was young and a few years ago I saw people showing it on TH-cam but for the most part people don't know about it like before
I'm surprised you didn't take a few pictures of the Utah raptor when it was sleeping and when it was wandering around, also some pics of the Angler fish.
He prolly completely forgot about it, in fear 😂
I believe it's called "Facing your fears" 😃 which I'm ALL for. 😁
Fooster is a lot braver when he has fisk to go first 😂
Loving the videos Fooster, My absolute fear is Tyrannosaur Rex and I cannot play games with them in. Well done you for playing this! Spooky timing when you first started and said Hello, my laptop popped an update box up. I thought for a second this is the day they reply!
Definitely want more. Absolutely love Dino games. Reminds me of Dino Crisis 😁👍
Immersion therapy is a way of trying to get rid of (or learn to deal with) a specific fear by experiencing it (or immersing yourself in it) 😊
The Dunkleosteus truly is an amazing evolution of nature, A massive fish that rivals that of a meg with bone armor plates and a massive sharp beak
Footer being the best detective there is.
I was just really trying to escape 😂
@@thefoosterchannel OMG HI FOSTER 👋 💓 THANKS for the heart ❤️.
Bit of the Dino Crisis reimagined vibe. That scared the shit out of me at the end.
Resident Evil + dinosaurs certainly sounds like some kind of crisis
The algorithm brought me here last night, so I’ve just been watching random videos. Good job TH-cam :)
That "Oh my GAAAAAHD!" near the beginning solidified that this is going to a fun, campy ride. Love it.
I love when you play the Dinosaur games, so feel free to indulge yourself and us.
36:51 ammo clip on the blue barrel, eyes peeled Fooster👀
Considering Fooster is in his Dinosaur arc, I think it’s quite fitting you make a return to The Isle 😆
It's Fooster Time, my favourite time of the day, the reason I keep on keeping on.
Oh for a second I was like "Deathground!?"
Loving these dinosaur-based horror games!
dinosaur havoc is always a win. more please! 😁
Lol loved the cheese in this. Lots of different film references. The computer AI dialogue had me laughing. Very “2001 Space Odyssey”
as a huge dino fan i love that you play so many games involving them I also love your other content and when its not to scary i make a point to watch as i think you are very entertaining .and im so down to see the rest of this game !!!!
The claws marks like that never made a lot of sense to me, you maybe could expect them in battles or near corpses but a random wall for no reason at all?
Can we all appreciate the radio like effect he used when swimming underwater. Also yes, please play more of this
dude the actual camera in your inventry slot that you got at the begining, god man man your funny lol.really like watching the game to.
Dude, you have to play more! My daughter and I love it.
Love the content Fooster, keep up the amazing work. I understand how you feel I feel the same with ghost games and movies lol
From the future here.
After watching fooster play the fossilfuel
It's fun to watch past fooster play the demo for game 2
My god, that gave me anxiety just watching so i cant imagine how crazy your heart was beating through all that. Major props to you my friend for pushing through without screaming to much. Hahaha.
Cage did not know how to manage money, which is why he works so much. Johnny depp bailed him out once, but yes, he bought a t-rex skull. That would be sick to have. He outbid decaprio and got it for 275,000
9:14 "You don't have the needed value". What a way to make someone insecure😆.
Feels like Resident Evil but with dinosaurs. I like both and I like this.
I’d like to see you play it when it fully releases. I wish Capcom would do Dino Crisis remake like they did for RE2,4, and 5 in the future.
The steam block reminds me of that one old Jurassic Park game where you need to sedate dinosaurs in linear levels so they can be recovered.
love the video fooster, i love dinos so much and excited to watch this. and bigfoot has the new 5.0.2 update out to love to see you play thay
bruh... he literally got pancaked underneath that container and u ask him u ok? had me absolutely dead 💀💀💀💀
Perfect timing when you've had a shitty day. Haven't watched it yet but I know I'm gonna like it. Thank you fooster
Watching this while I ball my eyes out ❤ Hope you are well Foosty, an you mom an Bruno ❤.
P.s. thank you for helping me fall asleep an stop crying.
Stay Golden 💫
That oooohhhhhhwooooahhh ohhhh with the raptor is on point lol
The fear of dinosaurs is called Ornithoscelidaphobia.
3:03 Fooster: hysterically laughing while man gets crushed by shipping container
dinosaurs???? IM IN Fooster, Let's go!!!
What do you mean you don't know why the horror with dinosaurs is interesting for you? Because dinosaurs is friggin AWESOME!!!
Facing that scary thing is a normal human thing. If you face it on your own terms, you have a greater chance of survival, so it is evolved into everyone to varying degrees.
Foosie i absolutely ADORE that you see dinosaurs and immediately say "yes i need this fear" LOLOLOLOL
Giant Shark, Raptors from Jurassic Park, Hal9000 from 2001 a Space Odyssey, and a mutant clone hyrbid. All this game needs The Terminator and some Aliens and this game is the wholw SciFi horror Shibang.
37:39 And is that Chiapa Rihno???
This was better than I thought it would be, please play more!!
Hi Fooster just wondering here.. the full game is out I’m not sure if anyone asked but me and my wife love watching you play and it’s now one of our hobbies.. can’t wait to see you play this full game! I myself like raptors!!
4:00 Main character plot armor in full affect.
Totally cool. I love games that incorporate Alaska. I live in Tenakee Springs Alaska, and have lived in Southeast Alaska my whole life.
Fooster the museum is looking exactly like London museum with dinosaurs 🦕
I’ve always wanted to go visit that!
I'm starting to feel that Fooster is now reincarnated to who he is... He was previously a lil bidy dinosaur that is hunting for revenge in the gaming world 😂
I just found your channel and I already love it! And I love dinosaur-based games
Me and my two cats love your videos😎🍻 Its a nice way to wind down in the evening
have to say the under water voice filter was a nice touch
