Nine Important Principles Of Powerful Preaching As Depicted In The Ministry of Jesus (Lessons From Jesus Preaching Ministry)
The place to learn to preach is to observe the preaching ministry of Jesus.
    1. Jesus preached in the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 5:18-19)
His preaching was birthed out of His connection with the Lord. The authority in the message is from the blessing of the Spirit's presence in His life.
Fill with the Holy Spirit so that I can preach in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Don't ever preach without the power of the Holy Spirit.
    2. Jesus birthed His sermon preparation and delivery in prayers (Mark 1:35-36)
    Prayers come before powerful preaching.
    3. Jesus preached the Word of God rather than human opinion (John 17:14; Acts 4:31)
Powerful biblical preaching is an overflow of a life that is Fill with the Word of God.
    4. Jesus communicated God's grace to His audience (John 1:15-17; )
Jesus must be lifted up in every sermon.
    5. Jesus demonstrate an awareness of His audience. (Acts 2:37-41)
Jesus recognises that effective communication is more of a dialogue and not monologue. He was more sensitive to the comments and responses of His audience
Get away from reading a sermon manuscripts to observing the audience as you speak (look at them and listen to them).
    6. Jesus used a single memorial statements that is clear in His preaching.
    7. Jesus used repetition and restatements. (John 6:8, 35). He used single statements to drive home His ideas to His audience. Repetition make
    8. Jesus found and used practical illustrations in His preaching. Books are detached from reality; the best place to look for good illustration is to observe and draw from your own life and that of your audience.
    9. Jesus called for radical life changes. He never finished His preaching by calling for practical life changing responses.
