This is the vacuum that started it all, both in the US market, and for some of us, our initial exposure to Dyson vacuums as a whole (myself included). I do admit, I do have childhood nostalgia for those DC07's, but the more of them I revisit and refurbish, the more I start to realize that these weren't the best performers at the time despite that hefty price tag (they did have excellent tool suction, don't get me wrong, but the airflow, and agitation really left a lot to be desired).

I prefer a Kirby of the same vintage for carpets and rugs. Also Kirbys can be refurbished to like new condition. Can't do that with plastic.
