    Longtime fan of the Dice Tower, and of Smash Up. I appreciate Tom going through the cards for us one at a time ahead of the game’s release. But I do wish he had a chance to actually play with the expansion and comment on gameplay. This review makes it seem like he read through the cards without ever playing with any of the 5 factions. Unfortunate, but still worth my time and still got my thumbs up. It’s just not often that a game review should even exist without having played the game.

    The Artwork of the last faction is so amazing!
    Also, Anansi with Elves should be fun... Full troll mode helping your enemy.

    Culture Shock and That 70's Set are still needed, and I have been trying to purchase Penguins, but i keep getting invalid when placing the order. Probably gonna have to call customer support to talk to somebody face to face and figure out why i cant seem to purchase the penguins, do they not want my money?
    I could also wait a few months for Goblins to be released and get both Penguin and Goblins at the same time. Not like I am in a rush. Game night with my friends has not been a thing since the Rona showed up.

    There is an actual fairy tale about A mouse a bird and a smoked sausage. I cannot recall the details about it though.

    The thing is, there is that second, lesser known Fairy Tale known as Snow White and Red Rose, that has NOTHING to do with the original Snow White we know. So, they made it clear that it is a case of namesake.

      @FatherTime89 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do have Snow White in another faction though. She's in the Princesses deck, and it would mess up certain cards if you had two different cards with the same name.

    • @DinobotTM2
      @DinobotTM2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FatherTime89 Yes. But they could have just done a Rose Red card and be done with it, instead of making a card that explains that that Snow White is someone else. Or even used another Grimm's tale. There are hundreds.

      I think that going with "The other snow white" it encourages people to look up the story as you mentioned if they are interested. Otherwise it's a neat little thing that AEG chose to work into their card game. The fact that they did is a bonus to me, and not something that should be seen as a negative. Because The Other Snow White and Red Rose *Do* work together. Also, while I admittedly don't know a lot of Grimm's Fairy Tales, how many have two specific characters as a focus?

    I wonder how Anansi and Elves would go...

      Play Trade on someone to take a card and give them Trade. Use the extra action from Trade to play Collecting Stories, which lets you play Trade again from the receiving player's hand and also see the rest of their cards to see if it's worth trading with them again or trade with someone else. Either way you get to take 2 cards in one turn.

      I thought that as well.

      I played a 3 player game with that combo. It was probably the funist game I've played. Once you get the trade cards in motion, they can trigger the Anansi cards as well as the cards the opponents trade with each other. It works really well against the Grimm faction. Taking one of the minion cards means they cant pair it with the matching minion. Then you can use other anansi cards to give that minion to a different player so they'll have a useless minion that benifits you more than anyone else if they decide to play it or even discard it later on.

      I'd go with steampunk incas they have some nice base actions as well

    • @ScrewtopReviews
      @ScrewtopReviews 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking dragons because they have "on base" actions and ruin bases for other people

    • @DanielHolding
      @DanielHolding 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScrewtopReviews yeah I was also thinking dragons...

    • @Cheddarific
      @Cheddarific 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What about Incan Truckers? Not only are they both focused on on-base actions, but a large chunk of minions and actions get bonus power from on-base actions, and several cards from each faction can move actions around, leaving opponents guessing where you will choose to solo a base.

      Whilst I disagree with your opinion, your profile pic is awesome, as an enjoyer of Nightwish too.
