I really love the fact that you guys never stop the music to discuss it, you just let the music play and react to it. That's how all reaction videos should do it. Talk about the song before and afterwards only, but don't stop the song to discuss it. These are reaction videos after all, stopping the music breaks the vibe and tone of the moment. Good job guys.
agree, how can a person/persons react to a song (especially if they have never heard of it before) when they are talking thru it? I've never understood this.
Heart of Glass, a timeless classic. Debbie Harry’s looks and vocals will never be matched by any other female performer! This was when music was music! Blondie is the number one group of all time!!
The group is called Blondie Debbie Harry is the singer, and her boyfriend is named Chris he is the lead guitarist they stayed together for years until his death she stayed with him till his death I believe it was cancer. The instrument you asked about is called a voice box you can use it to talk or make different sounds some of them fit into your mouth so you can't see the cord Blondie was very popular in the 70's and the 80's with big hits, and they started as a punk band and still going. Debbie Harry was also a PLAYBOY BUNNY 🐰at one time. Love them 💕 MUCH love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕❤💙
When Debby switches up to 'Soon turned out - big pain in the ass' instead of heart of glass, it's overdubbed. Shame. It brings a bit of fun bite to the song.
It's so awesome to see young people react to this song the same exact way we did when the song was first released. My first thought back then when I was a kid was, "that voice:". It was an extremely original song when I heard it. It was like out of the future or something.
Guys, Blondie, the band, are legends. They turned out hit after hit. 'Back in the day'...this song, and many others were just massive! We would be playing football, this song would come on and it everyone around the radio. I strongly recommend 'Sunday Girl', by Blondie :-)
Has nobody under 40 heard of Blondie!!! OMG, WHY??? I grew up listening to my parents' music such as Neil Diamon, Elvis, Buddy Holly etc. What's everyone doing now?
Punk goddess who transitioned with the times. That Disco ball says it all. This was late 70's. Call Me, another huge hit in the clubs. Debbie Was Gorgeous too.
I remember when this came out, dancing to it. Glad you guys found it and liked it! Here's a little trivia for ya, kids! The words in the last verse are not, "Once I had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out had a heart of glass". The actual lyrics were, "Once I had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out it was a pain in the ass". They changed it for radio play and this video. Oh, and her name is Debbie Harry. Her, Grace Jones, and Dale Bozzio were pretty much the rulers of pop and punk back in that time. Without them, there would never have been a Madonna, or Lady Gaga.
My dad was a dj at a club for about 16 years and had a laptop full of of songs and huge CD books I would listen to regularly. Introduced me to so many songs I normally wouldn't hear growing up.
The album parallel lines was released 43 years ago today. I fell in love age 7 and this is my fav song. Look at Maria which was their comeback after 20 odd years. The band still play and still got it! Deborah Harry was pinup of a generation and still oozes sex appeal that few have matched. Look up photos of her from met ball. I want ro be like her when im in my 70s
Great reaction to a great disco song, Debbie Harry is a truly unique singer, once herd never forgotten. I think Mel got it absolutely right , dance off your broken heart, don't beat your self up about it.............:-)
Welcome to BLONDIE. It's rock, funk, punk, dance, rap, reggae, all sorts of influences going on..and one of THE BEST drummers of the day, Clem Burke, who is all over the place in the funkiest of ways. I love his drum rolls...never the same twice...
BLONDIE WERE AHEAD OF THEIR GAME!!! Debbie Harry was an ICONIC frontwoman - she had such an impact on female vocalists - her voice, style and looks - she was an one off! PLEASE REACT to 'Atomic', 'Call Me', 'Sunday Girl', 'One Way and Another', 'Hangin On The Telephone' - great band - punk/alterative/new-wave....brilliant! Also, on their single 'Rapture' - She *RAPS* - I believe this was the first time rap aired on MTV in 1981 - y'all need to react to it!🤯 Saw them about 5 years ago at a big music festival - crowd went WILD! More BLONDIE please!👱♀️🤘
I have always love Debbie Harry @ Blondie they’ve always been underrated and a force within the music industry it makes my ❤ happy to those never have experienced or heard of them enjoying their music . She’s always been a badass underdog pre Madonna of whom recently gave props to Debbie as an inspiration.
They dubbed over the last section for the American audience. The original working title was "Pain the Arse" and in Europe, she did sing that in the end but they put "Heart of Glass over it" here. She was a Punk icon and in her 30s at this time and looked so young. She is nearly 80 now and still beautiful. She stopped for several years at the height of the band's fame to look after her partner, the guitarist who was seriously ill. But she is still performing now and had a comeback a couple of decades after with 'Maria'. Other great songs are 'Call Me', 'Sunday Girl' 'One Way or Another', 'The Tide is High' (cover of an old 60s Ska hit).
Thanks for appreciating and grooving along to this Blondie classic and also for the quick break down of the message at the end. Your abbreviation of you surnames ”S&M” is interesting too…ahem…😀😜
Just happened on to your channel and was happy to hear how much you enjoyed Blondie. There's only one Debbie Harry, there was no mold. I guess you could say she fit into the "New Wave Era," of the '80's, and would be worth your looking into. There was some great music then, but in the 90's pop music died, I think, everything sounded the same, and I don't think it ever recovered. All of the great Rock music is pre-90's or was influenced by it. You could spend the remainder of your life just focused on that period and I haven't even mentioned the Rythm & Blues from that time. You're a great couple. Gotta go.
A few years ago, I was at a bar, and they played one of her songs. I think it was this song. I started singing the high notes with her and the bartender heard me and, said "you're right on key"! "Keep on singing"! That made me feel so good! She does have a very unique voice. Her real name is Debbie Harry. Big star of the 80's.

70's disco is fun to research. It changed everything. Give a listen to "Yes We Can" by the Pointer Sisters. Lyrics are relevant in 2022 and you can't help but dance.
This song was released in 78. This band is known primarily as a pop punk, new wave band. But with this song they crossed over to disco or got influenced by disco. And the song Rapture is hip hop influenced and has Debbie rapping in it.
This may have been mentioned before, but a bit of trivia. The original lyric wasn't "Heart of glass". The original was "Soon found out, it was a PITA". At the time, the FCC would never have allowed this on commercial radio, hence the change Actually, PITA makes a lot more sense.
