Honesty the most hyped for a live action adaptation I’ve ever been, there’s been some good and bad ones out there but this one seems like it respects the original material the most, as well as having an amazing cast
After seeing what they had to say, I can tell that they genuinely care about the source material and really love it. I’ve changed my opinion on the live action, it actually is growing on me now
You can tell they actually are trying to make the audience happy and that they care. But unfortunately, I fear people won't give it an unbiased watch. The show is gonna have its flaws. Things won't be perfect. But at the end of the day Oda picked the cast and gave approval for scenes. And fans will sit there and tell the author he completely made wrong choices lmao. This is one of the most hopefully live actions I've ever seen

I think its fair to say that any legit op fan CAN tell how much love has been poured into the project. I think it's impossible to have a live action be a 1/1 copy of the anime, and even if it was, I don't think they should be the exact same. Live actions are getting better over time! I mean, we had movies like Dragon Ball Evolution lmao now not to say others have been that much better, but the production levels are amazingly better nowadays, and that is a step in the right direction. I don't expect one piece live action to be a 10/10 but I'd be pretty happy if it was enjoyable, good production, and a solid 6/10 or 7/10

Mackenyu Arata, who plays Zoro, is the son of one of Japan's leading action actors, Shinichi Chiba. Definitely a first class move when it comes to intense action. Also the reason Luffy has an accent is bc Oda said if Luffy was real he’d be Brazilian and the actor is Mexican so it represents Luffy being Latino if he was real and gives more diversity
It probably wont be. Its got the budget of GOT but its a very difficult show to make. Might not be bad, but id be suprised if it was as good as manga or anime

Every characters except Arlong looks really good. Also if you want to watch Death Note live action try the original japanese version. No one can portray L better than Matsuyama Kenichi
I noticed on Twitter that someone mentioned not liking this series making a crack about how Zoro holds his third sword. Honestly, I think I like the possibilities with this. Just the idea of Luffy knowing that Zoro uses three swords from the start, but not knowing how he actually wields them for some time, you can't say that it wouldn't be a completely Luffy thing for him to just randomly spout out goofy ideas for how Zoro holds the third sword to anyone in earshot up until the time comes for him to actually see it.
At this point, I just feel like those who hates it is just a hater through and through. I mean...Oda sensei gave his approval and he even said he supervised it like a watch dog. He even said he feels like watching the Strawhats in real life watching the casts
I've watched some live-action adaptations and imo Gintama(2nd movie pretty weak) and Rurouni Kenshin( all 5 of them are pretty good) has the best movie out of all of them. The cast, the acting, the joke, the action... They nailed it. We also have Makenyu in the Rurouni Kenshin movie. You guys should check it out! They're pretty good
Im a hardcore one piece fan and grew up watching the anime nd reading the manga and when the first time they announced netflix is making a live action one piece i had no faith of it whatsoever but after the trailer dropped and from all the interviews of the casts to the creators honouring the source material and Oda sensei being involve every step of the way I am beyond hype for this show!
