Actually Valve is trying to buy the copyright to use the skins nowadays so they don't have to pay the creators annual fee for each profit they made from the cases/operations. And this guy (fun fact he is Vietnamese) told our Vietnam CS:GO community that he only made almost 150k or less because Valve contacted him and made an offer to buy the whole thing he created in the case.
He’s not the only guy who created it. Judging from the workshop page I believe that three guys were involved in the process of making the collection and he’s one of them. 150k was the actual cut he received from the total earning through a signed buyout contract.
@@markuslee3509 he meant the other skin creators whos skins were also put in the case, along with the Vietnamese guy so they had to give each of them a certain % of the profits. That means valve had to split the profits from the skin creator’s profit cut percent, 3 ways. (Example: Valve decides that they will give 50% total of profits from case to skin creators. 4 creators split 50% by 4 so each of them get 12.5% of profits and valve gets the other 50%)
Apel never made $2Mio from the Anubis Collection. One of the skin creators talked about the payments and said they were paid in advance, so no cut dependant on sales, and it wasn't a life changing amount, collection Packages do not pay the same as a normal chest
They are not gatekeeping, VALVE is gatekeeping because there were a lot of cases where unknown skin creators used somebody else's design which only got DMCA by the original creators after the skin was put in the game, as the most recent case was the AWP Doodle Lore. After this incident, VALVE has now a select few trusted designers on a list that provide designs and dub them "community skins" It's very hard, you need to create a lot of skins, and I mean a lot nowadays before even getting considered by VALVE. And they also started with fixed fees for skins instead of percentages cut from the total opened cases. This is because it's cheaper for VALVE and keeps the designers motivated to keep designing because a few designers don't even have to work anymore as they received so much money, they can outright retire as they had a few skins added in several operations... I got this information as my irl friend created a few designs
Not logic yet if they fixed the skin why not just bring back the skin into their orihinal classification is kinda unfair make all those howl stickers for reference something was stolen originally, they recently removed an awp and give you another one instead of make that shit contraband
@@viket8316They did it dirty with the Howl because they changed the design a bit, the original was way better. They could not do that with the Doodle lore, as a matter of fact, they don't want to do anything with these kinds of situations nor reward anyone that has to do with these situations, even after the original creator of the Doodle lore gave permission that his design could be used in the game, as he was excited that his design could be immortalised in a game. However, as usual, Valve did its own thing and ignored the original creator.
Its very hard to get your skins accepted by valve. "This guy" has been making skins for valve for atleast 4 years now he has many skins in previous cases aswell. Nothing but congratulations to him his art work is beautiful and he deserves all the money hes being payed.
I have been teaching myself to make skins for various games as it is something I aspire to do, but honestly.. CSGO skins have become so insanely detailed and each and every designer is so extremely talented it's so hard to believe what some people can create
True, it's a gamble after all that's why those skin creators have probably one in 50 skin that actually got added to the game. On the other hand I don't think it's really that hard to produce them, like if u are experienced and have some freelance income, valve skins are just an extra profit at this point since u can't really rely on income from them.
I’ve been watching you since shorts launched and I only right now noticed that you have a lisp, whatever speech training you’ve done in the past has done you very well
So to have a sick CSGO inventory you need to get a couple weapon skins submitted and then buy someone elses account with a fraction of the moneu and all the skins.
I wonder what would happen when valve accepts someone skin and he get paid and after that someone will say that this skin project is stolen from someone else
I don't know where people are getting this idea that skin makers make this much money. They don't, if you're a seasoned skin maker like Coridium that made the Assimov skins maybe. Valve typically offers somewhere in the realm of 30-45k per skin. Coridium for example as of like 2018 had over 30+ accepted skins. You don't get paid royalties, but you do get a commemorative key of the case you designed a skin for.
The skin making competition is low and stays low because of copyright infringement and skins that have already been accepted into cases are from trusted people and one maybe two people copied something and they are whipped off the trusted list
Good for him honestly, go get that bag 💰
I’ve been thinking about doing it since the arms race update but never pulled the trigger, I may try in cs 2.
