I grew up playing the 360 version. It was my first horizon game after owning forza motorsport 2 and falling in love with the franchise in that game. Thanks to this game for my love for cars... I honestly think these games are the reason I'm currently in college for automotive technology.
my first forza experience was FH2 and Forza Motorsport 4 on the 360. it was a great time and i found a couple spots where you could fall through the map. I found out about the missing areas after a couple years.
Oh god man same here. the memories of grinding for days at like age 7 to get a Lexus LFA back when the credits system wasn’t messed up, or attempting to drive using the Kinect sensor, will never fade. Those were truly the days
Played about 300hours of fh2 on the 360 not knowing that there was a Xbox One version, until i went to a friends house and tried it on the one. Big difference, and in 2018 when i got my one and played fh4 for the first time i was blown away, and then when i went back to the 360 for nostalgia i almost got mad the graphics were so bad. Good times and the game that got me into cars
No matter how broken it is, there is always one redeeming factor (for me at least), and that is the modding. You can mod FH2 to death, basically. There is a mod that adds cars from FH1 into FH2, and also a new car that hasn't been in both of the games (Mazda RX3), and they turned the null car into an actual car. It is incredibly easy to make your own engine swaps, or even your own controller layout. I'm now using the Y axis of my right stick to shift. Also, it's possible to swap the engine sounds out for the ones found in Forza Motorsport 4, and I think we can agree that they sound better (yes, there is a distinct difference between FH2 and FM4 sounds)
@@Carl_Gunderson There is a neat little program that can extract the XBOX 360 ROM files (as long as it's a .iso) and since the most file formats used in Forza games of the X360 era are either really simple or have been successfully decoded, it's not that hard to mod. The input layouts are stored in the gamedb.slt file which can be opened using an SQL database browser. The engine swaps and the perks you can buy with skill points are also stored there, heck, even the price of vehicles can be changed so every vehicle only costs 1 cr. Also, there is a program called Forza Studio whch lets you modify and view the texture and 3d model files.
Oh man, I really miss Forza Horizon 1 and 2. Good old days where Forza Horizon was actually good and the devs cared for the game. I remember coming back from school in a hurry just to play Forza Horizon 1 until late. I remember beating that game 4 or 5 times when I was younger. Those were the days man. I wish I could go back on time just to experience Forza Horizon for the first time again

Uhhhh, this game really gets me in the feels man. This is what started it all for me, my first Forza experience and first love for cars. A not so normal way to become a motor enthusiast yes, but boy am I so glad I bumped into this game.
I played so much Xbox 360 FH2 back in the day. I knew all the shortcomings compared to the Xbone version but I still thought it was pretty good. The physics definitely felt more arcady than FH1 so I never put as much time into it as the first game though. The emulator certainly didn't help the graphics any for this video but dang I forgot how low quality the world actually was.

The reason the game crashed for you so often is that you played it on an emulator, i played it on an actual 360 back in the day and it was actually pretty good, i don't remember crashes, sure after i got the Xbox One and played that version, the 360 one looked pretty dated, but considering what the developers had to work it, it wasn't half bad.
Also fun fact you can glitch into a majority of places in the Xbox 360 version, like the docks although you can't go all the way because it clips you through the world , but the Golf Course is possible to enter through glitching through
I got both versions! And the one thing thats really cool on the 360 version is that the clock in a few cars is actually working! In the Acura Integra Type R for example 😊 So when the clock is 20.00 you will see that its dark in the game as well. It was a nice feature 👌😂

Yeah. This is the only Horizon 2 game I have. It does feel sad that I can’t play the best locations. But I did played the Fast and Furious version on my 360, which got me attached to the docks. I hope I can get a copy and an Xbox 1 to play the real Horizon 2.

You can easily out of bounds glitch in fh2 with the gt500 and get to the docks but you fall through the floor, you can also out of bounds to the golf course
I grew up with the 360 version of Fh2. I absolutley loved it! I have played the Xbox one version of Fh2 but I didn't remeber the grafical difference to be so big.

Although this version of the game had some issues, it was the first time I had ever played a Forza Horizon game. My passion for cars has continued to grow all because of it and I still believe it is one of the best in the series.
All of the performance issues are due to the emulator. Played this on 360s the other day and it’s a great game, it just falls short of the Xbox one version in graphics and physics since this version is made with the fh1 version
Theres a glitch to clip through most walls in this game first you get into a small hitbox car (like a fiat) and then switch car via the menu into a bigger car (worked with the more modern ford mustang)
THIS! Back in the day when I had no money to buy a Xone I was soooo hyped to finally be able to buy this game on the 360. I was like 14 at the time (22 now) and it was one of the best feelings ever.
I had FH2 on the X360 as that was the only console I had at the time (& still have it somewhere). The reason why the games are so different is that they were made by 2 different people. The car list was also a massive disappointment as there were a lot less on the X360. The F&F DLC was good, though no longer available to download. Still have it on my console to play. It was free aswell. FH2 is more like FH1.5.
I played this for 2 years until i could afford an Xbox One. I never had any of these issues with it. Other than the max money glitch. But i loved it, never experiencing an Xbox One prior. This was Horizon 1 remade with more cars and less map boundary

I know, as I have this version, that the game can freeze if you try to switch cars multiple times without leaving the menu and the highway bridge north of Nice has a collision issue, but when played on the real hardware the game doesn't just crash like that and is reasonably stable.
Fun fact for FH2 on the xbox 360: there's an actual money glitch when you end up having 999,999,999cr by having fast travel unlocked and deleting one of the title updates and not updating the game after, then fast traveling anywhere else the game.

My uncle bought fh2 for me as my first racing game. This brought back memories of me and my brother playing together and I remember getting pissed at him selling my bmw. Somehow later one ( i guess due to backwards compatibility) i was able to play it on the xbox one x. The graphics is still incredible for that date ( not the 360 i mean the one ) but unfortunately the latest fh5 doesn’t really feel like the way it used to feel so ig i would wait for 6, i probably gonna wait for fh6, hoping for a denser map, which is more worth the expensive price

God damn I loved FH2 for the XBone, I remember seeing the graphics for the first time, how amazed I was. I distinctly remember there was this developer interview and the background footage showed a Ferrari driving through a city at night, in the rain, seeing how the lights bounced off the car, the world reflected in the droplets… it blew my fucking mind. I still think it’s the best looking FH game, the colours are just so pleasing to the eyes
i have the xbox one of this game, i mean it has less cars, no houses, less graphics, but holds a place in my heart. i think it has the best scenery in any forza game, has a great storyline and progression system, and just in my opinion, seems better then FH5.
I think some of the glitches might be to do with the emulator. I remember playing it on my 360 and i cant remember it ever being this bad. The graphics definitely werent this bad…they were bad…but not this bad.

the sound difference between the games are because they compressed the hell out of the sounds to fit the open world into a xbox 360 game disc

i have the xbox one of this game, i mean it has less cars, no houses, less graphics, but holds a place in my heart. i think it has the best scenery in any forza game, has a great storyline and progression system, and just in my opinion, seems better then FH5.

I think some of the glitches might be to do with the emulator. I remember playing it on my 360 and i cant remember it ever being this bad. The graphics definitely werent this bad…they were bad…but not this bad.

This is nostalgic. This was my first forza game
I don't remember there being holes in the map and graphics glitches when I played it on xbox 360 but it was still essentially Forza Horizon 1.5, which is why I kept playing Horizon 1 instead

I was one of the poor plebs that has only experienced FH2 on the 360. One of the first videos I remember watching of yours was comparing the 360 version to the Xbox One way back the day. I also remember watching all of your FH2 videos and being extremely jealous
