At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I've said this before, I know, but it always feels worth repeating that, while this move isn't particularly subtle as an opponent of Hatice's, what Hürrem does here is actually absolutely within rights. The mourning period for all other relatives and loved ones of Ibrahim's has already lifted. Hatice, being his widow, is the only that must remain in a suspended period of mourning and she's not doing it within the palace (so, if not purposefully told, this wouldn't even affect her so badly). Even Suleiman doesn't want Ibrahim's memory to be honored, unlike Hatice's claims, so it's pretty easy to see why he sides against Hatice here.

@@tanjaceren984 It's not within bad taste because the party has nothing to do with Ibrahim's death (at least not explicitly). It coincided with a religious holiday and as much as Hatice wants to grieve indefinitely, everyone else around her can't remain in permanent mourning. Life goes on.
It's like saying you're insensitive to celebrate Christmas when your uncle in law died a month or two ago. Makes no sense.

It coincided with a religious holiday and as much as Hatice wants to grieve indefinitely and she's allowed to do so. Everyone else around her can't remain in permanent mourning. Life goes on.

Moreover, your specific question has happened to me, I've had a close loved one pass away and not even a month later, I was celebrating the birthday party of someone else. I'm not so entitled to think everyone has to put their life on hold just because I'm sad.

She did that on purpose. She held a party to wage war. Since they're sisters and have a strong bond, it's been easier for Hurrem to make a move. While she's attacking the great sisters, she will have the sympathy of the righteous husband and support from her people.

Not well enough for God and Celestial Justice. Hurrem though that she would never been punished. But what comes around comes around. She wanted even more power, jewels, rings, bigger crown than Valide Hafsa Ayse Sultana, she declared herself many times as the owner of the world, now she even dares to provoke and threaten Hatice, who was the daughter of a powerful Sultan and of a Sultana (Selim I and Valide Hafsa Ayse Sultana) and now the party. She was Hurrem. So what? All of us have a name. If we use our name at any excuse for us to not take our responsibilities, then we are either blind and we don't want to take them or we are just stupid and we don't care to take them. Of course, she did it on purpose and this is an act of her own arrogance and greed, so before she blames others, let's face her own arrogance, greed and make efforts in order to occupy with her own mistakes, to find a way to fix her own mistakes and to do the right things and actions every time, not to kill innocent people at the first time.
