What is hydrotest manifold?
A pressure test manifold is used for performing a hydrotest. The pressure test manifold has the required provisions to test and protect the piping system subject to hydrotest.
Since the manifold is constructed at higher pressure rating and equipped with non-return valves and calibrated safety pressure relief valves and more than one positive isolation valves, it is working as a safety device to protect the system and people from any accident due to overpressure.
What is Hydrotest Header?
Unlike hydrotest manifold, test headers are made with the same pipe from the pipeline, but with higher rating valves to isolate the hydrotest system from overpressure.
Hydrotest manifold an be used for one or all hydrotest for the PIPING, pipeline or valve testing to facilitate the water filling till the test, dewatering, lay up etc. whereas Test headers are specifically prepared for the pipeline with the same diameter and rating as it can only be installed directly in the pipeline.
How to decide the manifold rating initially?
$ Construction contractors (LSPB, LSTK or construction subcontractors) - who are building plants, pipelines for their clients.
$ Service providers - who are serving the contractors, clients to perform hydrotest related activities for new projects, maintenance, revalidation tests etc.
$ Plant / facility owner - who are using the manifolds for their own system check, re validation, maintenance re-verification etc.
