I am grateful, Jon and Dr. Fuller, for your commitment to truth! How can we continue to give to throw our money into that dark, mysterious hole that is the SBC!? I met with my pastor for two hours about all of this, before the convention. I am happy to say that we are on the same page regarding all of this. I am waiting to see what the next step for our church will be. Thanks again, gentlemen!

Jon, I and my wife watched many of your podcasts. I have to say this one with Dr. Fuller has been my favorite. I love the light being shined on the issues we are concerned with but more than that hearing Dr. Fuller speak about teaching the layman or bi-vocational preacher. That's me! I've never been able to go to or afford classes. I'm going to check this out for sure.
Keep up the good work, for the Lord.

God bless people like Dr. Fuller who say it how it is and remain faithful to Christ, regardless how it effects them! I know for a fact that what he says about the covert bookkeeping is reality. It was in the large SBC church I attended outside of Nashville. The offertory was always going around but no transparency existed regarding church employee salaries and programs. God sees all and it is He who we seek to honor, not man.

I am a member of the SBC. Many people from our church went. I have stopped giving my tithes to the SBC and giving it to pay the new church mortgage. Now I am convinced I will never again give money where I am unsure it is being spent. I am curious if our Pastor will address the Convention. Several weeks ago from the pulpit he said " There will be no more Beth Moore studies in this church and her books will be removed from the church library" that should give you an indication that he is VERY conservative. Can't wait for Sunday morning. I have loved the truth this man is telling. Thank you so much.

My thoughts exactly as I listened to this. The SBC has become political. It should be biblical only. We have folks going through the Pipeline and now I’m wondering 1) what exactly they are being taught, and 2) will they know if they are being taught CRT and other heresies? I think the only reason we haven’t left the SBC is because of the money we get from them, which of course is the wrong reason to stay.

I can’t thank you enough for doing this broadcast. I saw this coming a few years ago and I found a couple of missionaries to support directly and God has really blessed that . The church on a whole have become so institutionalized that I really do believe God is calling us to home church in smaller groups . My son is on the mission field living on somebody’s porch, really sacrificing for the Gospels sake.people are getting saved not in mass numbers but individual lives are changing because he does follow up decipleship and I begged him not to go to Bible college because I did not want him corrupted. I told him continue to read your Bible daily pray not for five minutes or 30 minutes but extended periods of time give yourself to Christ he will teach you and he has. I wish I could find a church in my area that truly loves God‘s word and obeys it but they are so far and few between. I am blessed to have a small Sunday school class there is trying to live out the Bible. But I know so many don’t and it’s heartbreaking. Thank you for everything you’re doing.

Dr Fuller represents a direction that reflects a true view of the market “diversification and expansion”.
Every aspect of the market (the gospel has traditionally traveled the market routes through history) has been to decentralize.
This started in The Reformation with the scripture leaving the centralized control of the Catholic Church in Latin and then exploded into the vernaculars of every nation that the Reformation changed.
It started centralized and ended up completely diversified and decentralized with even the definition of minister and ministry changing to the common man from the priest.
Today we have again seen the centralization of the church. God is breaking that apart and is bringing another Reformation to the church.
The type school Dr Fuller is running looks more like what happened with Luther teaching at Wittenberg University which was an independent university NOT affiliated with the centralized and tyrannical church.
Not only the church but the worldly education system needs to go the same way.

Exactly. The centralized form of governance is nothing but potential tyranny whether it be found in the church or in the government.
Individual leadership on the smallest level is best and well served the Reformation in expanding the gospel into the largest aspect of society.
Since the Great Awakening we have moved more and more Geordie centralized government in both the church and in society.

However, I definitely may consider, with my wife, about enrolling in Dr. Fuller’s courses for the sake of understanding the Bible better as well as its theology. I think I completely agree with you, Jon, and Russell about CRT and the liberal drift in the SBC. I totally agree with Fuller's diagnosis that it's 60-40 in favor of the more liberal side. But I still think SBC conservatives are missing how to approach this problem. Now, I am no expert in the SBC. But I think I see something that no one is talking about and I'd appreciate your attention.
In the show "Extras", Ricky Gervais is a type-cast actor who has to make a choice: as an actor, does he want to be artistic or popular? He wants both, of course. But if he takes artistic roles, those roles won't bring popularity or money. If he takes popular roles, they will be unfulfilling.
It couldn't be more similar to the issues with the SBC. Genuine conservatives in the SBC need to figure this one choice out: do you want to have power or purity?
I could not agree more with the criticisms I hear from the people people like Fuller, Ascol, Stone, and Rod Martin. I GET IT. THEY ARE RIGHT. But there's no way the majority of the SBC will go along with pure dedication to purifying the SBC from its bad apples. Most people don't feel drawn to vote for that kind of "cleaning house in the SBC" vision. For many, if not most, of them, it would require these churches to eat crow and realize they've been going the wrong direction for years. Are we really expecting a brokenness and repentance from all those previous messengers, pastors, and churches who supported CRT and preached social justice sermons the last 4-8 years?
On the other hand, if the genuine conservatives (leaders named above) want to win power, they need to swallow their pride and just emphasize the positive. If they can hold their disdain for CRT in for a couple years and just give a very compelling positive vision for the SBC, minus the house-cleaning emphasis, I think they could win a lot of powerful positions. In many ways, I think this is how Mohler achieved so much power. He sounded professional. He didn't offend people. I'm talking about the old Al Mohler that used to at least feign biblically conservative confidence from time to time. The one MacArthur and Sproul liked to hang out with. I believe the SBC conservatives could win by focusing on biblical preaching, evangelism, biblical integrity, grace...and yes, some humanitarian work that can merge with those things on issues like sex trafficking, Uyghur genocide, and crisis pregnancy counseling. No one can argue against that. This might sound easy, but it also would mean abstaining from critiquing people like Russell Moore, Beth Moore, and all those bad seminary profs.
So what do SBC conservatives want? Power or purity?

@Blue Moan I totally agree with you. But as pastors, we have a limited amount of time and words to use. What percentage do we give to reacting to social issues? When do those issues stop dictating our primary focus? At it's core, it's an issue of emphasis for me. If I make it about God's word, I make social issues secondary or tertiary. And I think an SBC leader who wants to do that might have some success.

My experience using this grammar over the past year has been great. I really like his system. Dr. Fuller is extremely professional. I was so impressed with the way he dressed for his office hours. This guy is a class act. He takes these classes just as seriously as he did at Southern.

The heresy in NAMB is not newly discovered, this has been documented a couple years I think at this point. The attention of the general public on CRT has never been greater. Given all these conditions the messengers still were easily tricked. Why should we hope the situation is better in the future ? Part of the problem is folks’ misapplication of Scripture, trying to put believers today under the Law, any law, some law. We were never under the Law and never will be. The Law was for Israel, not us in this age of grace alone. We must rid our verbiage of today + “the Law.” It seems the most difficult task of Christians throughout the centuries is fighting the pride of placing some work on the Gospel. Believe. Nothing else.

The Scriptures has warned us about our CONUNDRUM. Being a Pastor is not a status symbol, it is a responsibility to ADONAI, Pastor are held accountable to the Gospel of the SON YESHUA HAMASHIACH . If you do not seek the HOLY SPIRIT for Wisdom, Truth, Modesty, Meekness, Grace, Equanimity, and Humility to proclaim the word in season, and out of season. Pastor, and Teachers will be judged by a Tougher Standard, so one should with fear, and trembling approach Pastoring, and Teaching. Pastoring, and Teaching is not a Picnic in the Park. The word of ADONAI is precious, it is becoming dormant in the body of YESHUA HAMASHIACH, the bride of YESHUA HAMASHIACH. The Glory of ADONAI is moving, and beginning to check out of presence of many believers of YESHUA HAMASHIACH. The grieving, and quenching of the HOLY SPIRIT is not a good thing at all. But ADONAI is about to expose many in HIS assembly. He is in control, HE is on the throne, He is seeking, stirring, and wooing individuals who need HIS guidance, leadership, engineering, steering, and piloting. Lean on the EVERLASTING 💪 of ADONAI, great is HIS faithfulness, HE will not abandon, forsake, leave us lonely, or orphan. Oh ADONAI , what is the next move, and action ? IMMANUEL, EL ROI 👁👁 👀 our 💚🖤 . HE 👂👂👂👂our 🧠 . We must become transparent, courageous, authentic with our SACRIFICE, SALVATION, SAVIOUR, and Sar SHALOM. The SON YESHUA HAMASHIACH did not become flesh, dwelt among us, died, was buried, rose, ascended into heaven for our selfishness. The HOLY SPIRIT is not here to play our parlor games, and power plays, or power grab. Decay is a good word to use here. De = From, Cadere = Fall. Decidere = Fall Down or Off . There is alot of Christian who have never been Lost, or Repentant. Many are like the Unrepentant Thief on his cross. That is a sad place to be. 🙏✝️⚓🛐🤲. The 🕯💡has not gone out. The HOLY SPIRIT is still moving throughout the body 🤝💯🌪♨️🔥 . Thank You Very Much ADONAI for the Grace YOU have dispense to Russell T. Fuller. Maranatha Amen ! 🌬🗣👤👥🤺 . That depends on your church. Mine prides itself in 14 or 15 percent to the cooperative program. I am in the midst of trying to get my pastor to change course. At a minimum, I need the church to not use percentage based allocation since my marking my own giving as "not for SBC cooperative program" means little if the church just uses other people's money to fill in my gap. I am hoping my pastor looks into the controversy and sees why we cannot give to NAMB or especially SEND...

He seems to see the huge problems in the beliefs of the majority of the convention and seminary faculties and calls it "apostacy". But he doesn't do what the Bible says to do about false teaching, reject it and separate from it. He is a teacher of the Bible but not a doer of the Bible. No young person that is devoted to the truth should go to a seminary that does not teach the Bible. No pastor that loves the truth in the Bible should send their young people to a seminary like that. Don't send lambs to be taught by wolves. You need to go to the independent Baptist seminaries to find teaching that is faithful to the Bible. Trust God and leave the perceived safety of the convention.

    • @adamjohns78
      @adamjohns78 3 ปีที่แล้ว

The Bible also includes passages which indicate confronting false teaching to be an acceptable (if not desired) course of action. Remember, Jesus said to His disciples “I’m sending you out as sheep among wolves.” I see what you’re saying, but try not to be so either/or here - especially when it’s more wise to accept the both/and in this case.

My answer is: don’t answer the phone. Let it go to voicemail. I have a message on my voicemail which says if you do not leave a message you will be blocked and so I block them! If they’re legitimate they will leave a message.
I don’t remember the last time I’ve ever talk to a spammer or think it’s been years since I decided to put that message on my voicemail. But rule is never talk to someone who you don’t know who called you out of the blue - it is nearly impossible to vet them otherwise.

Or should the faithful profs like him now resign? He was ok teaching and not urging people to leave before he was fired? Why not? Was he complicit in the false teaching? Seminaries worth saving or not? So the SBC seminaries are educating thousands of pastors a year right? So, worth saving right? Or were the seminaries worth saving the day before Fuller was fired but became not worth saving the day he was fired? Like a lever thrown like a switch? Before Fuller fired--lets fight for faithfulness. But oops! Fuller fired. Now let's cut and run and burn it all down? Hmmm. Seems a bit infantile. Lacking seriousness.
