Doesn't match my picture of Whitehall, he doesn't have a blaze. Looks like Valiant who was in the same box on Wednesday morning.

Love your video's john your commentary is great thank you for sharing with us all❤
❤
I love this horse’s attitude! He/she is very chill. A very happy horse! Seems to be younger? Very alert to surroundings, but doesn’t bother tourists much. Very pretty horse how it holds its head high. Idk if its name is Whitehall or not. I hope to see more of it after its vacation.
Hope the Blues and Royals have a relaxing break! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Lifeguards as well 😊
When you see these ladies it easy to forget these are professional soldiers trained in the art of war.
@@nickjanssens medals and all.
It was wonderful to see the polo team. They were respectful, knowledgeable and calm. This should be a lesson on good conduct choices for all of us readers and viewers, but especially for those coming to watch.
My grandfather was a Sargent in the kings horse Artillery in the first world War, enlisted at seventeen and remained until his early thirties. Very proud of him 😊
That's Sergeant
Hi John. Sorry to miss all that this morning. But I can tell all the folks that Kings Troop are doing 'split shift' this year. They'll be back for another fortnight in the winter 25 Nov to 8 Dec.
Now, that was the " money shot"!! What a gorgeous sight. Welcome to the Gunners, happy holidays dear Blues and Life Guards and four sweet greys. The Pakistani Army Polo Team! That would be a sight! Thank you John. Have a wonderful day everyone.
First horse in box, first tourist…grabs the rein?? 🤦🏼♀️
Beautiful horses! I’m so impressed there’s mostly women! 💪🏻👍🏻 thanks John, from Tennessee, US…🙏🏻xx
@@Pumpkinnan and it's only day one! lol
Thank you John for today's video was really good. Bye, Blues and Royals have a good well earned holiday. Welcome Kings Troop hope I got the name right. Are the Life Guards on holiday as well, if so hope they have a good holiday as well.
Absolutely fantastic! 🎉
Only you capture these important events. Thank you for this first hand experience.
Absolutely love your videos- thank you so much John, I had my own horse many years ago and love seeing who the horses are, especially Ormonde! 🐴❤
Hope the Blues n Royals have a lovely relaxing break they so so deserve it. Have fun horses 🐎
Well, a little extra excitement for me this Friday morning, in Washington state, USA. So glad you were there to catch the changing of the guard. There were some lucky tourists, being able to get photos of both. Fascinating to see the troop primarily made up of women. I had no idea times had changed so much! ✨
Thank you, john, great video.
You made my day watching the
great change that only happens once a year with regiments.
I learned and educated video today.

So sad to see the Blues leave😢😢 but they did it in style, through the front gates👍👍 I'm happy, though, that they are going to stay away but just for two weeks. Almost had a heart attack when i saw the Artillery bay follow after the Cavalry black in the box, because of the difference in size🙂. I didn't realize how used i had become to the Cavalry horses in the 8-9 months i had been following Horse Guards. At least visually. And i did see the Artillery horses at least 3 or 4 times during the rehearsals as well as Major General's review and Colonel's review and King Charles's review of the troops, but they were among other Artillery bays, while the Cavalry ones were among themselves. So i had the impression they were a lot taller/bigger but it was not based on comparison to the Cavalry horses. I hope the Artillery horses and guards will have two nice weeks at Horse Guards, without too much hoopla and nasty tourists. And the Blues&Life Guards get some much needed rest!(as time allows it)
I was listening to you and I fell asleep. You have a soothing voice. ❤
Wow that was a fantastic video thank you John that was superb 🥰👍
Great to see the King's Troop arrive. Thanks John.
The lady guards are so smart.
Have a lovely holiday gorgeous horse's and guards
John I so love listening to you I learned so much in the last year. I happened to watch someone else, no comments at all. Till the Kings Guards arrived I had no idea that’s who I had been watching. I spent a week watching older videos since I was in the hospital. You were there to keep me entertained.
Thank you so glad you were there a wonderful privilege for so many of us magnificent troop🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
Happy friday from usa. Georgia. ❤
Oh my goodness, what a wonderful day! Very exciting! I was just scrolling through TH-cam and found your channel a few days ago. I think I've become addicted to watching it. Thank you so much for your commentary throughout the videos. It makes them more interesting. Thank you so very much. I'm in the. States by the way.😊
many of us are from the states, welcome! he has many more great videos to watch listed on his channel home page 😊
watching from Austin TX, like your videos, thank you
Going to be interesting to see how these horses handle the people being so close to them and touching them.
Um grande abraço do Brasil 🇧🇷
Hi there, another amazing hour with you, you were asking about a horse that’s mane has been cut or shaved it means (hogged) it could be because of summer an the heat to prevent a build up of sweat in some horses regards from South Africa🇿🇦
The names are hogged as these horses pull the gun carriages in teams of 6 , the guns are fired on ceremonial occasions , so the horses must be removed from harness quickly , it stops the manes getting caught in harness .
I’ve been watching your channel for close to a year it’s awesome, some other info look at the trooper next time he comes to water the horse he washes under the mane to prevent itching and the face, thank you for keeping us informed and smiling Tracey
Oh I had to cheat & fast forward a bit! I will watch it all later! Such pretty horses!
Omg fantastic video John , and I'm screaming at the TV at those tourist grabbing the reins 😮
Hi John your great the way you jump in to ask where there from.let’s hope blues an royals and kings guards an horses have great holiday it’s well deserved.❤❤❤John I do look forward to watching you Videos an your sense of humour is great 😅😅😅😅❤❤❤are the kings troop lower than the others
@John: Do you have any friends who are paramedics? They can give you a similar experience to taser with the defibrillator 😂. If there are negative effects, they can save your life as well. 😅
What a fantastic video John you captured it all! And fun commentary too. Well done! Spectacular. P.s. Where in Malaga do they go? Asking for a friend 😄
Good afternoon John xxxxx I be back when HC back xxxxx happy summer to you Takecare xxxxx

Nice job John.
Gm John, morning here in north carolina🎉🎉❤
Good morning! I'm English and my GF is from NC. She lives just outside of Concord. It's nice to see another North Carolinian with an interest in British culture. Have a great weekend!
🦁🇬🇧🤝🏻🇺🇲🦅
@Jamie_Wulfyr I was born in wellingborough UK been in usa a long time alone . Ty for your note tell gf I said hi.( have half british and English accent 😆
Bit disappointed - I thought the Blues and Royals were were lining up for a full cavalry charge at the gates but it was just a photoshoot.
Plenty of horsey splendour today with the Cavalry Blacks, the Royal Horse Artillery Bays and the 4 magnificent police horses.
At the 59. Point "A prisoner's view!" 😂
So awesome!!’n
De kings artilerie i love the besutiful horses and uniforms
Do the troopers ever use the sabre as a rear view mirror?
Thankyou so much John for your time and your wonderful videos ,
First horse is probably Valiant though you've also ID'ed him as Tabor in a couple of videos also. It's a really distinctive blaze so your B&R contact may be able to confirm just which horse it is once and for all.
Didn't think they need a passport to come to Norfolk
That's why I mentioned Malaga! : )
These advertisers have realized that lots of people hang around this telephone box...and as entrepreneurs they have decided to take advantage of this business opportunity lol
Disappointed the Blues and Lifeguards will not be there when I arrive from Texas in a few weeks. However, if you, John are there, you have a fan club back in the US and they want your autograph. Hopefully we can get that at the Extravanganza on the 18th.
Apparently The King's Troop are only going to be at Horse Guards for two weeks this year. That means you will almost certainly get to see HCAV after all Jennifer : )
John I do believe that I know where you hide your lucky horseshoe 😉
I've never heard a Brit call a road a Highway or a path a sidewalk.
I love the ladys❤regiment❤
Having enjoyed your channel for quite some time; literally, I looked forward to seeing one singular outstanding trooper! Who has since moved on. I’ve not seen anyone since, that has even remotely perform at his level of perfection. Watching the “Blues,” leave, knowing that for some, this’ll be the last time we see some of them. Not to be crude, facetious, mean rude or disrespectful. This is said with a bit of melancholy. Although, I don’t know how would you, even begin to word it! Nonetheless, your channel really should come with a disclaimer. To all of them and their families, #GodSPEED 🇬🇧
When do the guards and the horses go to “summer camp”? They must have a great time even though training! Can you imagine being taken to the sea instead of standing in the hot sun being “tourist handled”!!
I've seen film of them in Norfolk, at Holkham Beach, and on the East Coast of Scotland at a place I've forgotton the name. Lots of galloping on the sands and swimming in the sea at both places!
I think you are looking for Lance Bombadier and Bombadier equivalent to Corporal and Lance Corporal. I am not sure but think after that you have Sergeant and Battery Sergeant Majors.
John that lady is blind 😎
Yes - that's why I said that if she plucked up the courage to pat the horse, I would have to follow! : )
When the new guards came out and the lady grab the reins, he did not even yell at her
The Cleveland Bay breed are some of my very favorite horses.
Kings Troop use the same horses as HCav , Irish draft Thoroughbred mix .
@@kathellison8084 absolutely not! They use and breed the Cleveland Bay breed. At one time the breed was in decline. The Queen made the effort to save the breed by putting them in the Kings Troop Royal Artillery. Beautiful bays with black mane and tail and frequently, 4 black sox.
" There are 120 horses in the regiment 13 of which are officers chargers the rest " ride and drive " usually sourced in Ireland before being brought over for training at the Defence Animal Training Regiment in Melton Mowbray " .The Cleveland Bays are based at The Royal Mews in Windsor and used as carriage horses in parades
What's up with the Japanese flag flying and not the 🇬🇧🤷♂️
John. Because to wrongs doesn't make it right. And you have children involved
Bye Bye Ormonde. Enjoy your holiday, going to miss you
He’s the dark horse of the family. They’re off on their jollies without him He’s off to Mrs. Miggins pie shop. 🥧🥧
😂😂😂
Can you help me understand the look of the horses in the Royal Horse Artillery? Is it a way they groom the horse or the breed of horse?
The horses of The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery are the same breeding as The Household Cavalry horses Irish draft/thoroughbred mix . HCav use the bigger black horses , Kings Troop are smaller and vary in colour chestnut , bay to black . They are usually seen pulling the gun carriages on state occasions and firing gun salutes .They also do the spectacular Musical Drive with the gun carriages , you can find videos of them on TH-cam .
Hope Jennifer Lawrence doppelgänger is back.
John, Get a grip LOL, they come from Knightsbridge BKS
Boy they are definitely eyeballing you. Lol. Do they not want to be filmed?
What is "20-ish degrees"?
Hey John, folks
King’s Troop horses are a lot smaller. But these females marching knock spots off the men I have to say. Well done ladies
Kings troop wear much more suitable boots !
@simonwallis1787 Historically, of course, the Household Cavalry fought on horseback whereas the RHA had to dismount to man the guns so needed to be more mobile and required no protection on their legs.
@@simonwallis1787 I agree!
You put me in such a good mood for the day with your hysterically funny little made up stories. Your sense of humor is so enjoyable, your laugh contagious. There is no other channel around Horse Guard that can compare. Thank you for taking us with you on his little journey everyday.
I must get back to the housework instead of enjoying your videos John 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hear hear totally agree John you make my day and sometimes have to put hand over my mouth to stop laughing out loud thankyou
That would be cool to see our Mounties there. 😊🇨🇦
That woman is not afraid she is blind and the other woman is explaining what the horse is like !
The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery is the Saluting Battery to His Majesty’s Household. It fires Gun Salutes to mark the grand occasions of State, including The King’s Birthday Parade, Royal Birthdays and Births. Commanded by Major John E Baileff RHA, the unit consists of 165 officers and soldiers, being the most diverse regiment in The British Army, with a demographic of 52% female and at last count boasting 9 different nationalities and 14 faiths and Christian denominations represented.
It was a gun carriage of the Royal Horse Artillery that bore the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II, her father King George VI and Princess Diana from Buckingham Palace to Westminster. As the monarch’s Mounted Ceremonial Battery, the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery also fires Royal Salutes for grand occasions of State. The King’s Troop is now the only remaining mounted unit of the Royal Horse Artillery. The Troop proudly stands at its barracks in Woolwich, Southeast London, comprised of 170 personnel and 120 magnificent horses.
John, The ranks are Gunner, 1 stripe Lance Bombardier, 2 Stripes Bombardier, 3 Stripes Sgt, 3 Strips And a crown above Staff Sgt, Crown on bottom of cuff W02. Hope this helps
The Guard has discovered that his boot is quite effective 😂
Yes, that lady was moving closer and closer!
😂😂😂
What was that obsession with grabbing the guards boot???
Is this, the guards' break time, when they take the horses to the beach for some fun in the sun and water? I love those videos, these elegant horses rolling in the sand and kicking.
John, you missed the guard kicking the two ladies away from touching him. Your camera picked it up, thankfully, He even moved the horse over. Great capture of the King's Troop arriving!!❤😊
I have to remark on the trooper kicking his boot at those 2 women. I don’t think it was necessary the first time because she didn’t even touch the trooper. At least, not that my eyes saw. And moving the horse away from the women was a bit much, too me. I felt badly. Am I wrong?
@@dancersmom4u It's not that you're wrong. It's just that the guards put up with so many rude people daily. They deserve respect. They weren't intentionally rude perhaps, but hopefully others will learn from it.
@@dancersmom4uit’s better then yelling !! He knew what they were doing !!
@@dancersmom4u yes. If the boundary isn't set, it just gets worse.
@@BTJ10 although I suspect a few might start yelling before the two weeks is over.
A trooper not wanting to be mauled by the tourists.😅 9:45
What a spectacular show this morning! So sad to see the Blues & Royals leave but great to see the Lady soldiers and their beautiful horses come in.
I felt like applauding the Blues and Royals as they left for the summer! Job well done to the troopers and horses (Ormonde 🥰 in particular for his cheeky attitude.)
Agree 💯
They most certainly do deserve to have a good holiday. Will miss them though! What more can a horse lover ask for, all those Clevland Bays arriving with their very smart troopers, it is so lovely to see them back, I really do hope both the troopers and trooper horses have a wonderful time, Horse guards will be well looked after while they are on holiday.
The horses of The Kings Troop aren't Cleveland Bay , they are the same breeding as HCav horses Irish draft Thoroughbred mix . HCav use only blacks Kings Troop bays , chestnut , black , smaller as well .
@@kathellison8084thank you for the explanation.
I'll miss the Blues and Royals. Thank you for the excelent video and have a wounderful weekend!

Thank you, John, for an exciting video today. You were so very much in the right place at the right time. And weren’t you humorous today! Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
So we start in the Artillery with a Gunner (Trooper) Then come the NCOs with the lance corporal (one chevron) but that one is called lance bombardier here, the corporal (two chevrons) is a bombardier then the sergeant (three chevrons and in in HCAV we knew them as Corporal of Horse). And then there is the staff sergeant (three chevrons and a crown). So much for the start I'll explain all the ranks above that when we get to see them. Maybe you can use this and it will help you.
Brilliant as ever - thank you!
