    First thing: glad no one got hurt. I agree with some of the other comments about stabilizer jacks. It will be very helpful to have stabilizer jacks on all four corners. We have a 20 foot travel trailer. Our rig came with only two rear jacks. It didn't feel totally secure with just them and the tounge jack holding it. I bought two stabilizer jacks for the front from harbor freight. They were very affordable and very beefy. I figured out a good place to anchor them to the frame. They make the rig very secure. Definitely worth checking into them. Reach out to us if you need help with ideas on buying or installing.

      what a great idea- I am going to add this to the project list! The more points of support & the better the weight distribution the safer the setup will be-, especially on soft ground like this! Patrick will be thrilled to see the Scamp's To Do list get longer 😂😂
      Thanks for the idea 😊

      That was the first experience we ever had with the scamp shifting when parked & it was really unnerving! thank goodness no injuries or damage & now we know to be extra extra careful on sand! 😊

    1st like and 1st comment, winning! Yes, I have that same foot on my tongue also. Too smooth, easy to slide around. Thought about taking it off, but you need something for sand. I use my 4 pack of stabilizer pads under there now, but still too slippery. Don't know what to get. Thanks for your video!

      thats when you know you are a loyal viewer! 😊 we are going to cape Hatteras in a couple weeks so we will be battling the sand again- a good spot to test a new set up 😬😎

    Good you are not here now, Just went up to the point at the state park and you cannot see the lighthouse for the smoke coming from Canada. It's hell when all your smoke alarms go off and the fire is a thousand miles away!

    • @LetNewAdventuresBegin
      @LetNewAdventuresBegin  ปีที่แล้ว

      this video is from the end of March so we did get to experience the smoke in NJ- never seen anything like that! It seems to have passed for the most part- hopefully those fires are getting under control

    Hi Scampers, from your Delaware neighbor at Cape Henlopen. Florida just passed a "Campers Stay Away" rule that states that Florida residents have first dib's on camp sites in the state. Apparently people from out of state were booking several camp sites for the same time until they arrive and then choosing where to stay. I see that here because the Cape campground is "sold out" but there are a lot of empty spaces with nobody in them. I think they need to revamp the reservation system with some kind of deposit deterrent so that doesn't happen. What do you think. My daughter spends a lot of time in Florida in the winter in her Thor Tallero 20J.

    • @LetNewAdventuresBegin
      @LetNewAdventuresBegin  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is already so tricky to get reservations in Florida- that will make it more challenging for sure 🙈
      we have been seeing that at many popular campgrounds- it says fully booked, but maybe at 50% full in reality. It is unfortunate because those sites could be enjoyed by someone!
      we recently had to cancel a reservation at a NJ campground & got zero $ back...so I see why there is no incentive to cancel if your plans change. Totally agree- there needs to be a revamp of the reservation system so people can actually use the sites

      Sorry this happened! Good thing you guys are smart and resourceful. I'm wondering why you don't use AC when you are in the state parks with hookups. It looks so hot.

    Does your trailer not have rear stabilizers? I believe you got too much weight behind the tires and the front jack raised up and slid off the block. Use your Jack at the back bumper to prevent the trailer popping up in the front.

    • @LetNewAdventuresBegin
      @LetNewAdventuresBegin  ปีที่แล้ว

      it does have rear stabilizers, but they are kinda dinky. This makes so much sense- we were both sitting on the bed at the very back of the trailer + the blocks sinking into the sand caused enough of a weight shift for the jack to slide! I had no idea that could happen...but now we know 😊 thanks for your insight 👍

    The bed extension. I recall you cutting the back support from the seat. I’m just wondering, do you still lie with heads towards the sides or do you now lie with your feet on the extension? I’m asking because we struggle a bit in our Scamp and maybe this is a mod I should do. Thanks.

    • @LetNewAdventuresBegin
      @LetNewAdventuresBegin  ปีที่แล้ว

      that bed extension is our favorite mod...good sleep when traveling is a must! we sleep with our heads at the back of the scamp and feet on the extension & it gives us so much more room, especially when Redford is traveling with us 😊

    My God what a drama queen. Anyone with any common sense knows that you put pads under a jack and block the wheels when you are parked and unhooked..

    • @LetNewAdventuresBegin
      @LetNewAdventuresBegin  ปีที่แล้ว

      we did have pads under the jack and the stabilizers, and had the wheels double chocked just like we have for the past 3 years of RV travel...but that didn't make a difference when things started sinking into the soft sand
