Bought stardew valley 4 days ago because of poxials 100 day challenge randomly showing up on my recommendations I now have 37 hours on the game and your videos since then have been a huge help to me Thanks!
Preservation Jars aren't always better. The amount by which value is increased by preservation jars is dependent on the initial value of a base level crop of whatever you put in, and so are kegs, however, the formulas for how much they increase value are different, which is why parsnip wine is worth less than parsnip preserves, but ancient fruit wine is worth more than ancient fruit jam.
If possible, invest in Cheese since you can technically make overall over 4,000 G more with Iridium Cheese than Iridium Starfruit Wine. It takes a lot longer and is much more work, but if you just need to focus on the money, then cheese is the way to go. All you need is to take care of cows and have them produce Large Milk.
@@herculetyou make cheese in the game. put milk in the cheese maker. then when the cheese is ready put it in the cast to bring up its value when you sell it
what i've seen to be true is if the base value is 50 or less jar, 50 or keg, because it's like jar = 2xbase+50 where as keg is 3x. at least for fruit. it's different for veggies but yea, the higher the base value the more you want to put it kegs over jars.
@@michag4337 It should also be noted here that this assumes the base price in both cases, not the price of the exact crop you're putting in. In other words, an iridium crop produces preserves and wine worth just as much as a normal crop.
Starfruit takes two weeks to grow, so even though you can get by with half as many jars than kegs, the g/day numbers only hold up in time frames shorter than two weeks. After two weeks, you might have processed four batches of preserves and only two batches of wine, but you'll have processed the same number of fruits in that period, no matter what, so the wine will always beat out the preserves. So it's only advantageous to make preserves jars rather than kegs if you're growing more than twice as many fruits as you have kegs and the jars are otherwise not being used. And in which case it's still better to be making more kegs to bridge that gap than more jars.
I agree that coal is hard to get but with jars, in the 7 days to make the wine you can get 2 jelly and in the 2 seasons it takes to get an iridium wine you can get 14-16 jelly(depending on if you forget to reload the jars once or twice) and that sells for much more than the iridium wine will.
As a mobile player, kegs have always been better for me for 2 reasons: -coal is hard to get before you’re filthy rich and / or you have the burglar’s ring -it’s hard for me to plant thousands of crops quickly and starfruit/ ancient fruit wine has more value then their jelly counterparts

Question: at the Luau potluck, what’s the result for putting a Stardrop in the pot if you know? I never had one in my inventory whenever it rolled around during my item-as-name exploit playthrough, so I never had the opportunity to try it for science myself. UPDATE: The next year in my item-as-name playthrough, I found that talking to Willy triggers the exploit, and because I had a free inventory spot and it was a festival the Stardrop did not automatically get eaten, so I was able to have it in my inventory! I put it in the pot (for science!) and got the "Good" result.
I like to have some variety of crops on my farm and often use preservation jars since they are a lot faster at processing and for certain crops they are better gold per day. If you have to fill them manually that is a lot of wasted time but since I can't play without automation anymore that's not a drawback for me.
MAJORLY helpful though as a newbie to SV on the switch, it often seems like you’re playing a totally diff game lol😂 can’t wait for my SV life to pop off like this
I just started this game and it already seems too overwhelming for me. My faith in myself is so low that I don’t even think I’m going to be able to pull out any of this. 😂😂😂 I can’t seem to get enough resources or gold to make anything happen. It’s like real life. LOL!
For the thumbnail quandry, the way I see it, the purpose of Kegs is passive generation you spend relatively little time getting started and then ignore for a long time while you use that time for more efficient tasks. If you consider them in this way, it starts making more sense why they take much longer than Preserves Jars despite not making as much gold per second in most cases. And it's not like you'll be hurting for things to put in either object, and you're only limited by how many you can place and visit in a day before you have the rest of the days while they process to do whatever.
IDK, I love my kegs man! Making wine with those ancient berries and then aging them is quite lucrative and also a good passtime for late in the game when there isn't much to do.
I just fell in love with Stardew Valley again after switching to the Nintendo switch (haha, pun). I am so so glad I found your channel, I really freaking love your content! ❤❤
You don't sell stuff from the kegs. You put them in the cask to age, best one to age is beer as it takes the least amount of resources and the least amount of time preservation jars don't necessarily take into account the rarity or quality of the item but casks do and it's compounding the amount especially for wine
someone did the math and found that on average going for crit chance (not crit dmg) rings with iridium bands and going for scout and the other crit one do more dmg than pure base dmg increase
The bottleneck for making profit is the number of produce that you can make. So, assume you have utilized all your land planting produce. Kegs will be far superior than preserved jars. The number of days for turning your produce into an artisan good is irrelevant. The limiting factor is the number of produce.
Can someone close to ConcernedApe made a suggestion that for the next update, instead of just corals & stuff that’s been washing up on the west Ginger Island beach. We also get some loot boxes? Especially to those who doesn’t have the beach farm 👀
I think the reason those are beach farm specific is because they are like a trade off for not being able to use sprinklers. A lot of the packages have water retaining soil

After doing some math, it's actually better late game to have a cheese factory than a wine one. Cows can produce Milk everyday, meaning that the more cows you have, the more milk you can get. Cows that have a high enough friendship can produce Large Milk. Large Milk, regardless of quality, can be turned into Gold Ranked cheese. So of you have your cows friendly enough towards you and can create several cheese presses, then you can sell them for 345 Gold per cheese. With the Artisan Skill, it should boost up towards 483 per Gold Rank cheese. However, by using Casks in your cellar, you can age your Gold Ranked cheese into Iridium Ranked cheese, which takes only 7 or so days, meaning once a week you can age your cheese. By doing that, having the Artisan skill, you can sell a Iridium Ranked cheese for 644 Gold per cheese. Add to the fact that you can do this 4 times a month, and there are 4 months in a year, or seasons I should say, one cask can age 16 Cheese to one Wine. Iridium Ranked Starfruit Wine with the Artisan Skill sells for 6,300 Gold. However with the 16/1 ratio you get with cheese, you'll be making a 10,304 Gold in comparison. So over 4,000 more Gold with Cheese. Even if you miss a day, and only do this 3 times a season, you should still make 7,728 Gold. More than Iridium Starfruit Wine.
These are all well and good for PC but some don’t work on console. The name change one never does as it doesn’t recognise the [ ] symbols. Very annoying. 😔
@@quack6349 Actually ConcernedApe knows about it and didn’t want to patch it because it was funny when NPC’s talk to the player. They ended up having to patch it because it was causing issues. Is it really cheating if the creator knows it exists and doesn’t care?

The only way starfruit makes sense is if you age your wine - but you can only age 189*2=378 flasks per year. That would equate to 48 starfruit planted (8 harvests per year, 8 times 48 is 384) which is about 6% of all-year farming space (GH+GI) and even less if you plant ancient fruit on spring 1st on your main farm.
You can actually get more money if you put them in the jars because you can get double the jelly in the same amount of time(granted it's slightly more work) which sells for slightly more than the wine does + one regular quality fruit.

I also think that you speak very quick and you give a lot of info very quick, so it creates anxiety. Your videos shout: more, more, more, more... non stop. It would be a good idea if you give some breaks for people to get the info you're saying. It's like you're shooting information. Slow down a little.
normal honey is actually profitable pit it in your keg sells more than most type flower honey
So many new things, should I restart my game after not playing for 2 years? I already have 80hrs of it
Do these work on the switch?
I know there are some differences
I played the fishing game a few times to get some coins for cheaper than they cost then I did the spinner game and got almost 4k and I only wanted the star drop so I was good to go
looking at the thumbnail i just got 1 question- what mod are you using to be able to place Stardrops into the stall, because every single time I get a Stardrop it's automatically consumed there's nothing i can do to stop that from happening
That's the part where she calls Clint on the phone. It's in the video.
The trick is to make sure you are holding something in your hand before collecting it from the item spawning glitch, if your hand is empty it will be used instantly
Will you get blue eggs from the chickens???
No, they're still white.
I just sibcribe to your channel because you teach me something on Stardew valley
What is the mod that you use to spawn monsters?
Does the star drop in inventory trick work inf times? If so...
:)
ezlilyy help me alot in this game, thanks for every tips u gave us!
The last time I heard "guys" that many times in a short amount of time a bald man was making vids about celebs of a certain living status at 3am 🤭
JUST SO YOU KNOW, WHEN ITEMS HAVE A PURPLE BACKGROUND, IT IS B/C THEY ARE WORTH A CERTAIN AMOUNT. FOR EXAMPLE IF THE ITEM IS WORTH MORE THAN 500g IT WILL HAVE A PURPLE BACKGROUND.
All your tips and tricks are allways very helpfull.sorry for my spelling
Hi im a new player, and ive seen some vids (yours and others) what strikes me is, that everyone are trying it get billions of gold. Is that really nessesary? I hoped it would be a relaxed and fun game, not a stress test. So far the most expencive thing ive seen cost 100k ( some what easy to get) so why all the gold? Is it nessesary or just a way to play the game?
You do not have to make a ridiculous amount of money really quickly, that's just one way to play, but there are some items in the end game(when you probably have some money anyways) that cost over a million. But those aren't necessary and you should play the game in a way that is fun to you. It can be a chill farming game if you wanna
You need a lot of money if you're aiming for perfection, but you can set whatever goals you want! The important thing is that you enjoy the game :)
It's just flexing, or a goal they set for themselves. There's no wrong way to play Stardew! It's impossible to permanently screw something up, don't worry.
Thx
Because people get happy chemicals in their head when they see a large number go up.
you can get star drop with your dog too if name it [434]
sounds like the extra stardrop doest exist anymore, i had a message telling me i'm a cheater instead of the star drop :(
ezlilyy saying drippy made my day
whenever i get to floor 100 in the skull cavern theres never a chest just an empty floor im so confused
There are also hidden items in the crane game.
You're gorgeous😍 I love your voice.
an I've learned so much from you keep them coming im subbed
i bet on green three times in a row but they were all orange making me lost all my points, what are the odds??
1/64
I tried the [434] and it didn’t work.
I was just playing 😂 and i get notifications
So iridium star catfish is a good item?
I sell it :)
I want to say thank you
4:37 It's suddenly like you're playing a completely different game to me from this point. An infinity gavel? What? 😅 I've been playing for hours and still only have a dog and no other animals, and the basic copper tools, despite following tutorials to make money fast 😑
What is all this craziness?? I’m just in Year 1 still fishing and farming and mining. This makes it feel so much more confusing 😢
Perseverance jar is only for roe
Why not put Hops in the kegs then?
1:48 Didn't that work with Gus on Day 1 as well? Call yourself that and talk to him, because he always refers you by your name. Or did he patch that out?
And it's actually not that weird if you know that every item has a number in the item list.
Useless? You make a wine with this thing.
1:57 how did you make the back space
ive been binge watching your videos for a while now and only now realized that i wasn't subscribed. Weird.
O.m.g. I just started the game and didn't buy the star fruit bc I didn't know what it did 😭😭😭
I'm sorry, FLOOR 888 IN SKULL CAVERN?
If you get the stardrop from your wife/husband then divorce them can you do it again with another spouse ?
No. No matter how many spouses you only get the Stardrop from one.
Kegs are good for making money
I cant Change my Name on the Switch. The square brackets are disappearing when I click OK. Only the 434 remains... :(
You got a kitty!
