@@_zafkiel_4069 It's not a joke. It's an epic story of war tactics, strategy and politics. There are many story arcs, they all make progress and have a conclusion. All characters that get screen time, have a purpose, and a "closure." The original anime dragged out a lot of scenes due to the fact that it was being aired at the same time as the manga, and there would be times where the anime would catch up to the manga and had nothing to adapt. It’s why the Goku vs Frieza fight was very long. They had to make filler in order to stall for the manga. Dragon Ball Kai, a newer, more polished, and redubbed cut of the original anime has cut off a majority of the filler made in the original anime and is more streamlined. If you are someone who wants to get into DBZ, but don’t want things to drag out, then Kai is your best way to watch the series.
Sometimes you sit in front of a screen until the end of episode and thinks, "Why did I waste 30 min of my life again?" Such is the hell of watching old long shounen series.
Fam they cucked us with so much filler after goku turned super saiyan. Like the most hype moment yet and we have to wait for weeks to watch what happens in the actual fight. Some of the fillers were good tho and entertaining in itself
If you think about it, all battle scenes happen faster in the eyes of those who are not super strong fighters. One of the recurrent things the characters say when they are watching the others fight is how the fighters are so fast they can't keep up with what is going on. So when they get on a stalemate or the characters start talking it would be slower than anything else in comparison.
