Hi Keith. That Vindaloo looks delicious. Just a suggestion if you want a bit of gravy in your final dish....... try adding half a cup of water after all ingredients are added to the pan/pot. This also helps to cook the meat and it becomes softer and creates a bit of a gravy. But overall, well done. To ease the chilli heat, try adding a grated carrot salad to your plate as side dish. Enjoyed this video. Cheers
Thanks for the tip mate.
Keith you are such a sweet man. You always think about our Nat and always want to please her. I loved the video and I was just about licking the screen at the end. Love to you both and I am looking forward to the next video xxx
Thank you so much Bernice
Thank you Keith and Nat, I absolutely love these Wednesday Fakeaway series. Keith, you are such a great cook ! You take everything in your stride in the kitchen and even if it's something you've not cooked before you take your time and as a viewer you can truly see your passion for cooking and for following a recipe or recreating a dish in your own way. Excellent! Love yours and Nat's channel. Thank you both ❤️
Thank you so much Rebekah
22:40 Diced lamb often has to be cooked for hours, not sure if you were aware.
I was mate. But didn't have the time for the video
Fabulous Keith even the frenchies would eat a lamb curry. You REALLY went to town on this vindaloo well done 👍🏻
Thank you Donna
You are the master of fake aways highlight of the week keep em coming love it
Thank you Michael
Mate, seriously great work on this and especially the sauce! I agree about the meat but it's what most of us are going to get when we go to the supermarket, so it's not a bad thing to show what you get from one pack. Thanks for the video 👍🏻
Thank you so much mate
Wow! That looked amazing, Nat your lucky to have a fab takeaway. ❤ definitely gonna make this.shame they don’t do smellyvision as I bet the aroma in your kitchen was easily as good as any Indian restaurant. Sending lots of love 💕
Thank you so much Jane
Well done mate ! Looked spot on that .. i make currys every week and im glad youve done one also that youve done it properly and not used jars of sauce (which some do) plus vindaloos are my personal favourite and yours looked just as a vindaloo should look . More currys please pal 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 keep your uploads coming 😎
Thank you so much mate, more coming
Hi Keith. Well done in your base gravy. A top tip for you next time. Water down the base gravy to make it a lot thinner. We’ve been making BRI curries for years and we find watering the base gravy down works a treat! About half and half should do the trick!! Good luck. Love the channel 🥰
Thanks for the tip Sally
That looks amazing Keith cracking job 👏👏. Lamb vindaloo is my favourite Indian 😍. Just noticed Nat has the same dressing gown as me😂. Keith with a dab on 😅
Lol mate. thanks
That looked absolutley spot on Keith, will defo be trying that 😊👍x
Cheers Carley
Well done for your first time.
The gravy mix looked perfect. .
And you loved the taste which as you said can always be changed for next time.
Good cooking to you.
Thank you mate
Thank you for another wonderful video. I love curry but hubby and daughter don't, so I don't get to make from scratch and make do with ready made. I don't think there is much better than a lovely curry and rice on a cold day. I might just try this and freeze it in individual portions. That way I can have it when I like. Say hello to Nat for me. You are a lovely couple. Xx
Thank you so much Diana
As I'm vegan I eat tons of Indian food, as so much of it is vegetarian it's easy as owt to veganise. One of my favourites is Brussels Sprouts Vindaloo. So good.
I prefer it with chips or roast potatoes, but it still pairs well with boiled rice.
I may well have a go with this recipe.
That sounds nice mate
Proper curries are a Labour of love, that looks banging Keith! U will be opening a takeaway at this rate! 😍
Hello Lisa 😊 hows it hanging Lol i hope you have a lovely weekend, and don't do anything i wouldn't do Lo, chat soon
@@brianc6272 hey! Hope u have a good weekend too 😊
Thanks Lisa
Oh yeah. Pre cook the meat by bringing it to a boil and simmer in some of the watered down base gravy 👍🏻👍🏻 good luck. Look forward to watching you make another curry!
I reckon he should have a go at a Phal next. 🌶🌶🌶😁
I'll be doing this tomorrow. Also, just wanted to add, bloody good video mate. Angles, microphone, everything. Sorted wass.
Thank you so much mate
Looks brilliant mate, well done. I thought you forgot to take your spuds out and blended them up 😂😂.
Lmao mate. Thanks
I love the variety on your channel but fakeaway Wednesday is my favourite. I love a good curry and yours looked yummy
Glad you are enjoying them L Daniel
I love curry but never made from scratch, this looked an easy-ish recipe, thanks mate👏
You are welcome
Hi. The vindaloo looked just as good as The Curry GUY. If it was slightly thick maybe you could've added some of the sauce you made up. that would've made it less thick. & like you said maybe buy 2 pks of the lamb. Maybe cut the potato slightly smaller. You did it from scratch & made a great job of it. I could almost smell it through the screen lol. Glad Nat enjoyed it.
Thank you mate
Looks banging! I'll have a one with a nan and some poppadoms on the side please!
Thanks
Chef open takeaway 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻well done , it’s all about that sauce you made 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you mate
Fantastic episode OFG. Food looked awesome. Seemed like you made a lot of effort.
Thank you mate. Ye took a long time
Hi Keith, you learn something new everyday, did nir know a vindaloo could be mild,my memories in the 80 s was burning my gob off..haha,great content..
Glad you and Nat enjoyed it xx
Yes Shirley i only learned it the other week from an Indian lady
Got to say I love a vindaloo . Nice one 👍🏻
Thank you
Excellent job Keith food looks fantastic and the way you put your videos together are really good 👍
Thank you so much mate
Looked really nice Keith. Lot of work goes into a curry from scratch so fair play to ya mate. I've got a few jars of this naga pickle which a lot of Indian restaurants use for hot curries. I'll be more than happy to send you a jar . Let me know mate and I'll email you 👍🏼
Thank Dan. I'm getting a po box soon
Is it available on Amazon?
Great review but my favourite is chicken korma curry 🍛 takeaway well done 👏
Looks delicious, a splash of sesame oil into the rice before serving gives it that authentic fried rice flavour. Still managed to get the plates of food out despite the technology trauma 😂😂
Cheers mate
Alot of effort went into that and looks really good. The base gravy like you did is always key and I always skip that. Looks takeaway quality to me
Thank you so much MPico
The trick to good curry is tomato puree. Quite a bit of it,too.
Yes mate
Nice one yet again, I’ve got one of the curry guys books, perhaps need to get it out and get cooking 😂 xx
I think i will get his book San. Thanks
Awesome work! thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Another cracking meal keith! Well done, really look forward to all your uploads 😊
Thank you so much Dildy
Omg that curry is to did for..Wish i had smelly vision lol..Looks like a takeaway to me keith..Drffo trying this one...Yummy ..🥲🥲🥲
It was delicious wicked witch. Thanks
Went all out with that one mate brave turned out looking beautiful mate well done 👍
Thank you Trust me
Really enjoyed this one mate. If you come across the Curry Guy’s books it’s well worth getting one. His recipes are really authentic and taste amazing.
I'm gonna get one Brexiferous, thanks
Great one Keith.
You do such such a great job.
Keep it up.
Cheers buddy
Excellent video as usual. I made this, love it. Thanks
great effort this, the curry guy is class, i think your base gravy should of been a lot thinner if you watch his vids, great vid m8
Thank you mate. Not bad for first time
Hi Keith and Nat looks Amazing 🙂 really enjoy your channel xxxx
Thank you so much Karen
Like you mentioned you can make any curry the strength you want, but traditionally Korma is at one end of the scale mild and vindaloo is almost at the top of the spice scale.
Mix em together in one curry then your in the middle jobs a gooden
Yes mate
Keith love Fakeaway Wednesday that looks delicious must be good Nat enjoying love to Nat now im hungry ♥️♥️♥️😋😋😋
Thanks Kim
“Garmin” masala 😂
lol
great job mate as always👍👍
Thank you mate
Like i always say this is brilliant mate 👍👌
Cheers mate
Looks cracking that does Keith, well done chap! Nat certainly enjoyed hers. Nice one guys 💯☮️
Thank you so much Kayak
Vindaloo was originally Portuguese went to goa via the conquistadors I think it translates vin = wine aloo = garlic
I thought aloo is potato
Vindaloo actually comes from Portuguese "vin-d’alho" meaning "wine and garlic". Apparently short for "carne de vinha d'alhos", "meat in garlic wine marinade". The dish is from Goa which was a Portuguese colony until 1961.
The twist is that Portuguese alho is a cognate with aloo, coming from Latin allium meaning garlic, which ultimately comes from PIE *ālu "esculent root". Hindi aloo comes from Sanskrit ālu meaning root or yam and from the same PIE root.
Vindaloo isn't traditionally served with potatoes, but can be.
aloo is potato but yes vindaloo is Portuguese mate
It looks ok to me, just missing a naan, and mango chutney. You could have made the base in your stewpot.
Naan was in the fridge mate. Forgot to get it out lol
I'd have lime pickle instead of mango chutney. Patak's makes an awesome one.
Nice one Keith looks delicious definitely 👍
Thank you so much mate
Looks pretty authentic to me mate
You made a base gravy
And all from scratch , you should be pleased with your self
Looks fab and I’d eat all that
Great video
Thank you so much Dave
Try Al's Kitchen top man for curries and how to make them.
I will have a look thanks Debbie
Have you tried the Kahari Sauce yet from co op mate...cheers
I went to get it last Sunday mate, didn't have any but i will keep checking
What? Vindaloo can be not hot? A mild version ? Crazy.
Yes mate weird in it
@@oldfoodguy weird!
Nice one Keith,
Looked well tasty sir,
Great vid, have to ask if you had your Mobile on tin table? Lots of annoying feedback
It's happened in his last few videos that, I've heard it several times 😏
@@natssupermarketproductreviews that explains it,I thought it was my phone at first😀
@@dentydent6423 I thought it was mine as well LOL, but then rewound the video and realised it was on the video.
Trying to find the problem mate.
@@oldfoodguy No problem mate, all it is I reckon is when the phone rings it's just interrupting the frequency of the microphones you're using on the videos that's all 👍
Great recipe and Fakeaway looks delicious
Cheers mate
Great vindaloo Keith i think your base gravy might be a bit to thick
Me to mate
Looks a winner mate 👏👍👌👊
Cheers mate
Your last 4 videos you can hear interference from your mobile phone at certain times during your videos... you really need to look at that because the phone signal is interfering with the frequency of the microphones your using... it happens at 23 minutes 53 seconds into this video and again several times before that. Let me know you saw this message as it needs fixing mate 👍
@@natssupermarketproductreviews You don't need to apologise 🙂 I just thought I'd mention it as it's only started happening recently. Seriously though no need to apologise 👍
trying to find the problem mate. It's weird. Bare with me
Welldone nat being the sweet and sour girl well proud of ya x
lmao Lindsey
Another good one matey.. Looks nice but a can't do not curry.. Rogan josh is about the hottest a can do.. Even Madras kicks my arse lol😂😂😂👍
LMAO mate
I will be making a mild version. I can tolerate hot food but can't tolerate the burning byproduct which comes out the other end
lol, makes sense then
Mate, fry ye spices in oil with ye onions then add ye meat then add the fluid or ye spices will be gritty
Nice video hope your good and. Your family from Ash
Thank you mate, yes all good
Brilliant as always 👍
Cheers Ash
Where can I find this lesser known "Garmin Masala" please 😂
lol
THAT LOOKED SPOT ON 👌
Thanks Stephen
Looks great that mate !
Thanks Charlie
An authentic vindaloo is made with pork, it's a Goan dish, from Portuguese immigrants in India.
My no1 curry is lamb vindaloo
Yummy mate
get yourself a aluminium fry pan, you need to try and stick to caramelise .... base gravy looks way to thick
that looks delish!
Thank you, it was
Ah well done a lot of effort
Hot Vindaloo is my favorite
And mine Ayseeyou
M8, i do my own b.i.r curries at home but you made some big mistakes cooking, when you made ya mixed powder, thats all you need for most currys, no need for extra spice added like u did, watch al from al,s kitchen u will know what i mean, much love m8
Followed the recipe mate
Ten minute mark and I'm shouting at the screen " You forgot to take out the Taties for later " , yes cookery show trolls are a real thing . Ha Ha !!! The Curry Guy whose recipe you are following is called Dan Toombs an American who lives over here and loves Bir Curry ( British Indian Restaurant ) , he does have some instructional vlogs on TH-cam worth a watch .
Cheers mate
@@oldfoodguy You appear to have taken a bit of umbrage at my comments about your cost of living crisis meal challenge , not my intention to knock your attempt at helping people out during these difficult times so apologies for that . But you simply have not thoroughly worked this one out , because your costing is inaccurate and no counting the cooking costs . Check out a site called Atomic Shrimp 2023 where he tries to do this for a quid , get back to me then and I think you will agree you were a bit misguided mate .
Great work OFG
Thank you Diane
Quality again 👍🏻
Thanks mate
😀🏴
Cheers mate
hahaha Who forgot to get the Poppadoms out of the Cupboard 🤣🤣🤣 Vindaloo Vindaloo Vindaloo Vindaloo Nah Nah Nah Nah you got me singing this now Keith n Nat Lol anyways move over Gordon Bloody Ramsey and all these other so called Top Chefs, cos Wor Keith is the Top Man and he has the Banter and has me in stiches all the time 😂😂😂 Straight as they come this Fella and his Beautiful Lass Nat is 🤗 Looked Delish and 'It is all in the Taste'

LMAO mate thank you
Back soon mate lol

Cheers bubby
Watch your video back.....why are you rocking backwards and forward lol.
That looks delicious!
Thank you Rachael
Mate are you shore about the amount of spice
Hi David yes there is loads of different spices in Indian food
@@oldfoodguy yeah I know at the time I didn't realise you wer making a base gravy to
YUMMY YUMMY
Thanks joeann
👍
Thank you
Stand still man am getting motion sickness 🤢🤢🤢🤢
I'm not a statue mate
base gravy looked a bit too thick
You are making it too complicated it’s a one pan job, honestly one pan fry spices and onions then ready to go
Did you wax your arms???
Yes on a live stream, and my eyebrows lol
Top bloke. No offence just asking but is the hair missing on your arms from cooking. You seem to have loads on your hand and wrist then goes bald. Asking for a friend. Noooooo malice. Like i said. Too bloke working class. Show these wannabe fake people how its done. 👍
Are you single?
lmao Joanne
@@oldfoodguy I'm available
What a load of crap,
Oh yeah. Pre cook the meat by bringing it to a boil and simmer in some of the watered down base gravy 👍🏻👍🏻 good luck. Look forward to watching you make another curry!
Thank you Sally
