In the vegan summary: What if the vegan friend was just trying to get out of going to the destination wedding? She may not have purchased her ticket and was trying to find any excuse in not going 😆
I never thought of that and its super valid and could be very true. I was wondering why the friend would cancel plans already booked because of a meal. Excellent theory!
🧟♀👰You guys had a nice positive spin on the concept of surprise weddings, but i feel like that's an asshole move to friends and family. i briefly looked at r/weddings on the topic and someone brought up a scenario where what if you're a guest and you had a bad day at work but you have this party to go to. You might show up later and only intend to be there for an hour or so, or not even go at all. Only to find out later that you missed your friend's wedding. But if you knew it was a wedding, you might get the day off of work to make sure you're there. But yeah after pulling this kind of stunt that i already think is an asshole move, i think it's silly to then be mad that someone dressed up (on theme!) as a corpse bride at what was presented as a fun costume party, but was secretly a surprise wedding.
