The Spain vs England game was the highest level of women's football I've ever seen. Spain's technical ability and their passing was insane. England's ability to adjust to the game plan was excellent, they never gave up and changed the game with the equaliser. Then the screamer from Stanway just topped it off as a classic football game.

Her tactics of running down the clock in Spains corner in those final minutes was also genuinely world class. Like that's the type of tactics you would expect to see in champions league knockout games. Womens football has come a long way and I'm excited to see it progress further

you did more than inspire a generation. you made every girls dream a reality. i started playing football at 7 years old, yet never joined a team. i was scared that people would judge me. when you won the euros, i was 14. im now trying to join my local u15s, to make that 7 year old girls dream come true. ive always loved football, watching any game at night with my dad and brother, then going to the park to play with my brother, 12 who has played for a team since he was 7. hes my biggest supporter. thank you for helping me realise i should just be myself.

You go for it. Stick with it and there's always a chance it will go somewhere. There will always be people telling you it's pointless or you'll never be good enough, but I'm guessing that most of those people are angry that they didn't try when they had a chance.

I would like to say here one time.
I hadn't watched women's football since Mia Hamm.
But the Lioness' came up on my radar about a month before the Euros.
I was stunned by the quality of the squad.
So after the euros, I went back and watched the early games. My evening TH-cam isn't surfing, it's a full ENG game.
I cry when ENG does well. But from the games I have seen, Wiegmann brought an ethos of compassion and humanity that bound the team together.
Wiegmann was the reason we won.
We have a squad of superstars, because the coach nourished their growth.
    Thank you. Ms. Weigmann.
Now go and kick the men into shape.

@@bwbw9412 The Usa are defending world cup winners. And ranked #1. In the past 15 months , England are undefeated. Excluding the WCQ games against lower teams , England are 14 - 4 - 0 , scoring 48-7, against teams in the top 20. The Usa has played only 6 games against top ten teams in the last 3 years, until the England game. Then they lost 3 games on the trot. They have beaten all the previous Euro and WC winners. No one has scored more than 1 goal against us. So " currently " England are the best team in the world. It is possible, that England could win all their games , from now until the WC , against all top 20 teams. Right up to the quarters or semis. We shall see. :)

The Usa have won more world cups than anyone, the last one being almost 4 years ago . Thats history. 15 months is current :)
England haven't won a single one. Infact they haven't even reached a world Cup final. Correct. They have reached the semi final in the last 4 WC's , losing to the eventual winners each time.
The USA have the longest unbeaten run in women's football history. Correct. Against teams outside the top 20 . Low level teams. Amateurs.
I'm wondering if you even read my post :)

Up until the England game , the Usa had played ' only ' 6 teams in the top 20 , in the last 3 ' years' . Then lost 3 on the trot. England have played 18 top twenty teams in the last year and are 14-4-0 . I'm pretty sure England could break that long streak of yours , if we played low level teams .

The Lionesses are the best team in the world right now, male or female. Definitely up there with the great club and international teams over the years. They’ve beaten Olympic, World and Continental Champions along the way this year. I can’t even begin to imagine what will happen If they go on to win the Copa Finalissima and The World Cup. Whatever happens, there must be a seismic shift in football, as it should have been in 1920.

    England's Lionesses in 2022:
1.Won the Women's Euro 2022 with a record of 22 goals, no defeat, and only conceded 2 goals.
2.Defeated Top 20 countries in international games, including friendlies: Germany (twice), Netherlands, Spain, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and USA.
3.Qualified for 2023 World Cup with a whopping record of goals scored and clean sheet.
Argentina with Lionel Messi in 2022:
1.Unbeaten in the World Cup qualification, excluding an abandonment game vs Brazil, which was eventually anulled, along with Brazil.
2.Won the Finalissima by destroying the European Champions Italy.
3.Won the World Cup after losing the opening game (only second time in the history aside Spain's 2010 success), which also denied Argentina's chance to break Italy's unbeaten fate.
So far, England's Lionesses is better than Lionel Messi's Argentina in world football. Don't question it.

@@lexkanyima2195 Yeah, but the USWNT you mentioned here is when they managed by Jill Ellis back in 2015 and 2019. They became the first team in the World Cup for both men and women since Brazil in 1958 and 1962 to win back to back, but for Ellis, she emulated Italy's men team in 1934 and 1938 for the case of one manager.
However, the Germany women's team led by Silva Neid had an unwanted record back in 2007, when they won the World Cup for the second time in a row without conceding a goal, which seems to be broken closely if Brazil's Marta had scored the penalty.
