I also used to be a binge drinker and one day I just said to myself "Love this gift of life you've been given and truly love yourself!" I said goodbye to all the alcohol and the cigarettes I craved when I drank. I take much better care of my skin and body now and I'm happier and more confident in my 50's than I was in my 20's. Sure, we can all get sad sometimes but never stop loving yourself. It's important to remove negative, toxic humans from our lives, get a good doc, pray and read more. Let's be good to ourselves and plant positive seeds wherever we go. Even a simple compliment will make someone's day or even their entire year! We need to build one another up and support each other. What helped me was doing 2 things each week no matter what, while I was healing...walks in fresh air, treat yourself at salon, gentle exercise like Pilates stretches, add fun back in and start to enjoy this time for you. Alcohol, cigarettes, drugs including pharmaceutical drugs are poison for the body and soul. I do NOT want to be anyone but MYSELF, I am comfortable in my own skin and never compare myself to anyone. I take care of my body on the inside as well as the outside. I would never go out without being pulled together and I don't mean full glam. Even though I dress and put on makeup too my husband actually prefers me sans makeup and that is alright. What makes the total woman is she is completely pleased and confidant in herself. Another content creator awhile back did a video wanting to know if she was the total package, she asked her husband, why.... I have no idea because if he answered anything but yes he would have been "in the dog house". What does that even mean...total package...as compared to what??? I feel like I am always over dressed when I go out anymore, but I dress up anyways. I just want to look like I care. It also makes me feel good! I have a blouse similar to that zebra print to my fellow Venus fan! I am sure you have seen what I am referring to. :) I wore that gorgeous green velvet dress from Venus to a TSO concert and I think I was the only one dressed up. I felt beautiful in it though and I am so glad I bought it! Thanks for being you, it sure makes me feel good about my choices in what I wear! I am 49, and I dress what makes me feel good! I know this is an old video, but hope you see this comment. You made me think of my mom. ❤ My mom dressed up when other people she was going out with did not. She was just her. Even when she wore a sweatshirt and jeans, she wore her jewelry and a little makeup. Into her 90's! I took care of her the last years of her life. She was unable to walk and sometimes she had dementia. We did her doctor appointments online. And every time, she put in a little makeup and jewelry before talking to the doctor online. She was such a beautiful person inside and outside and did not let others dictate how she was going to look. So you be you and enjoy.
I think this is amazing! It’s given me a little bit of confidence. However it takes a lot longer to get to the stage of truly feeling like this! I’m very good at putting a face on believe me! Let’s not forget Lisa you have been given a little bit of a gift from the gods with your looks and life. I have had a struggle for most of my life and unfortunately it shows in my face! My light shines and I can can give love from my heart which I do on a daily basis because inside in some respects I believe in a Christian way of life . I hope that doesn’t make anyone think of bibles and church etc etc. However when I am projecting my love, kindness and peace from my heart is when I struggle with people pulling me down because -believe it or not people don’t like happy people! however bizarre that seems! They are unhappy themselves and want to suck the life out of you. I have had the bad luck of running into these people thro my life! Starting from a problematic childhood being the oldest of 6. Both my perants started a new life - divorced when me and my sister were 6 and 7. They both had more children each time they remarried - so -this was the start of me and my sister being alone and trying to fit in. We experienced a lot of emotional abuse. I became a young single mum at 18 and had no support at all. Left school with no exams so found it hard to support me and my son I went from this into a domestic violent relationship which lasted for 7 years. I was beat up practically on a daily basis. I remember him pulling my son out of bed one night so he could witness this, it was sicker than you would ever believe. Back then domestic violence( and still is) very misunderstood and I could never get the help I needed and obviously had no family support. You loose all your friends because they are sick of you or blame you because you don’t leave them Once I had left the guilt of putting me and my son thro it all and and loss of who I was took me years to recover. Prozac saved my life but regardless I ended up with a opiate habit and much more to boot. I was at my lowest point at this time. Don’t ask me how but after a lot of years I did find the determination and desire to learn to drive plus I took myself to collage and became a RMN. This was exhausting but rewarding. I worked for the NHS for 13 years. So again after that length of time, the energy and determination it took me to get there i was projecting positivity, love and happiness! I ended up being bullied , all it takes is a couple of people and you have a witch hunt. “People don’t like happy people” . They drag you down. I lost my job which was devastating and I struggled with getting over this. Again you have to dig deep. I ended up with somebody else which became.much of a one way kind of thing and they feed of you good energy! I think I had better stop there. This is the watered down version. I must be boring by now and it looks like I’m beginning to write a book lol! I thought I would try to tell you my story. I’m sat on my bed and my cats have just come I. and need feeding! I’m now a cranky o,d cat lady lol! Always trying to project that positivity and love 💕 thanks for listening xxx alll the best Lisa xx

You are definitely not alone! I used to be the same way, but one day after a night out I DECIDED that I didn't want to drink anymore. I hated the way I felt and the way I acted when drunk. I wanted to be my authentic self all the time. So it really just takes you getting tired of your own shit and making the CHOICE to stop. If you need outside help then get it. There is no shame in that because it takes so much strength and courage to face YOURSELF ❤

I totally agree that we can be beautiful from the inside out and at any age ❤️ I so admire your wonderful positive outlook and applaud all you’ve done to get there ☮️ My only additional comment is that we should also be allowed to show real feelings without being considered ugly or unattractive. I think women especially are conditioned that we should always be pleasant with smiles on our faces and this is just not reality or healthy. Depression is unfortunately common and still so stigmatized, and pressure to wear that happy mask can be debilitating. Thanks Lisa, I quit being an ocasional drinker to not drinking at all for the last 2 years and I am so proud of myself. Alcohol, cigarettes, drugs including pharmaceutical drugs are poison for the body and soul. I still need to work on not letting other’s negative energy get to me, I try to avoid toxic people and news.

You are spot on with the confidence coming from the inside! Women who compare themselves to other women who may be younger, have a great body, great hair, whatever are setting themselves up to fail. I do NOT want to be anyone but MYSELF, I am comfortable in my own skin and never compare myself to anyone. I take care of my body on the inside as well as the outside. I would never go out without being pulled together and I don't mean full glam. Even though I dress and put on makeup too my husband actually prefers me sans makeup and that is alright. What makes the total woman is she is completely pleased and confidant in herself. Another content creator awhile back did a video wanting to know if she was the total package, she asked her husband, why.... I have no idea because if he answered anything but yes he would have been "in the dog house". What does that even mean...total package...as compared to what??? This person comes across as insecure and shallow. You however have it summed up as I do....stay true to yourself!!!! Thank you for sharing this with us!! XO

I feel like I am always over dressed when I go out anymore, but I dress up anyways. I just want to look like I care. It also makes me feel good! I have a blouse similar to that zebra print to my fellow Venus fan! I am sure you have seen what I am referring to. :) I wore that gorgeous green velvet dress from Venus to a TSO concert and I think I was the only one dressed up. I felt beautiful in it though and I am so glad I bought it! Thanks for being you, it sure makes me feel good about my choices in what I wear! I am 49, and I dress what makes me feel good! My mom dressed up when other people she was going out with did not. She was just her. Even when she wore a sweatshirt and jeans, she wore her jewelry and a little makeup. Into her 90's!
I took care of her the last years of her life. She was unable to walk and sometimes she had dementia. We did her doctor appointments online. And every time, she put in a little makeup and jewelry before talking to the doctor online.
She was such a beautiful person inside and outside and did not let others dictate how she was going to look. So you be you and enjoy.

However it takes a lot longer to get to the stage of truly feeling like this! I’m very good at putting a face on believe me! Let’s not forget Lisa you have been given a little bit of a gift from the gods with your looks and life.
I have had a struggle for most of my life and unfortunately it shows in my face! My light shines and I can can give love from my heart which I do on a daily basis because inside in some respects I believe in a Christian way of life . I hope that doesn’t make anyone think of bibles and church etc etc. However when I am projecting my love, kindness and peace from my heart is when I struggle with people pulling me down because -believe it or not people don’t like happy people! however bizarre that seems! They are unhappy themselves and want to suck the life out of you.
I have had the bad luck of running into these people thro my life! Starting from a problematic childhood being the oldest of 6. Both my perants started a new life - divorced when me and my sister were 6 and 7. They both had more children each time they remarried - so -this was the start of me and my sister being alone and trying to fit in. We experienced a lot of emotional abuse. I became a young single mum at 18 and had no support at all. Left school with no exams so found it hard to support me and my son
I went from this into a domestic violent relationship which lasted for 7 years. I was beat up practically on a daily basis. I remember him pulling my son out of bed one night so he could witness this, it was sicker than you would ever believe. Back then domestic violence( and still is) very misunderstood and I could never get the help I needed and obviously had no family support. You loose all your friends because they are sick of you or blame you because you don’t leave them
Once I had left the guilt of putting me and my son thro it all and and loss of who I was took me years to recover. Prozac saved my life but regardless I ended up with a opiate habit and much more to boot. I was at my lowest point at this time.
Don’t ask me how but after a lot of years I did find the determination and desire to learn to drive plus I took myself to collage and became a RMN. This was exhausting but rewarding. I worked for the NHS for 13 years. So again after that length of time, the energy and determination it took me to get there i was projecting positivity, love and happiness! I ended up being bullied , all it takes is a couple of people and you have a witch hunt. “People don’t like happy people” . They drag you down. I lost my job which was devastating and I struggled with getting over this.
Again you have to dig deep. I ended up with somebody else which became.much of a one way kind of thing and they feed of you good energy!
I think I had better stop there. This is the watered down version. I must be boring by now and it looks like I’m beginning to write a book lol! I thought I would try to tell you my story. I’m sat on my bed and my cats have just come I. and need feeding!
I’m now a cranky o,d cat lady lol! Always trying to project that positivity and love 💕 thanks for listening xxx alll the best Lisa xx

You are definitely not alone! I used to be the same way, but one day after a night out I DECIDED that I didn't want to drink anymore. I hated the way I felt and the way I acted when drunk. I wanted to be my authentic self all the time. So it really just takes you getting tired of your own shit and making the CHOICE to stop. If you need outside help then get it. There is no shame in that because it takes so much strength and courage to face YOURSELF ❤

I totally agree that we can be beautiful from the inside out and at any age ❤️ I so admire your wonderful positive outlook and applaud all you’ve done to get there ☮️ My only additional comment is that we should also be allowed to show real feelings without being considered ugly or unattractive. I think women especially are conditioned that we should always be pleasant with smiles on our faces and this is just not reality or healthy. Depression is unfortunately common and still so stigmatized, and pressure to wear that happy mask can be debilitating.
