I only know the AT but Frogg Toggs for the win. I don't hike without a pocketknife. Also, take several more merino socks and skip the underwear. Just healthier to do liner shorts or freeball it. That's a good sun hoodie.
You should wash the Tyvek sheet a few times, and hang to dry, it will soften it up so it's not crunchy.

Happy trails- and what about a compactor bag.nyloflume bag to keep everything dry- just to be doubly sure.
Actually I forgot to mention it in the video, but I do have a nylofume liner in my bag. It never leaves my pack so, in my head anyway, they've become one item. Good call though!! Definitely going to need it & especially in the first couple days.
Ready to go!! I’m currently on the train in New Mexico right now. Unbelievable scenery thus far! We’ve had 3 delays tho…one was a drunk guy startin trouble and he got kicked off, 2nd was a truck hit a deer on the railroad, and now we are waiting with the power (and air) off while they change out engines. I might miss my connecting train from LA to San Diego tomorrow, but hopefully they can get me on the next one. I’ll get there tho, no doubt! ~Smiles

Only time will tell! Thankfully taking a couple weeks off after reaching Kennedy Meadows South, gives a little bit of extra time for things to melt off. Appreciate the support!

Looks quite efficient. The only thing that stands out to me is the total amount of ziplock bags ... maybe try without a few of them, or atleast combine some of them. Remember to start out with an easy day and let your body get into a flow. I usually like to do an easy day, then a relatively hard day on the second day and then an easy day again before starting to test my body a little.
So your Ventus is your warm layer? For around camp or as a Mid-layer under rain shell hiking?
Yep. I'll only be wearing my sun hoodie under my rain jacket unless it is well below freezing.

Thanks! Honestly, haven't weighed it & can't give you a good estimate. This is what I feel is worth taking, so knowing the base weight wouldn't change anything for me 😂 I'm sure that logic train would drive most gear junkies crazy, but oh well.
I am always curious how much a loaded backpack weighs…since I did most of my hiking in the 1980’s, yes I’m that old, but still enjoy hiking videos.

Zyns should be considered part of the big 3 on god. My big 3 consists of citrus Zyns, a cast iron pan, and my camp chair
