One of my favorite parts in the whole movie was the limo scene when Rudy cheers everybody up because they were worried that little to nobody would show up for their premiere after reading the negative reviews from the critics, and Rudy just tells them that no matter what happens, they have a good time because they came so far, they worked their asses off and they should enjoy themselves and have a great time no matter how many people show up. And that he was proud of himself, and they should be proud of themselves because he’s proud of them. That was a touching moment for me.

Nesscia.Tele Yes, this was a very positive movie for the most part. Aside from the crude, nasty, dirty content that they delivered, it was still positive. Rudy Ray Moore was just playing a character and he kept his personal life and public life separate. Most actors and entertainers turn into their characters in real life but Rudy kept it professional. At least that’s the way the movie portrayed it. And it delivered a positive message of believing in yourself and never letting anyone’s negativity bring you down or allow them to tell you you can’t do something. The more I even think about it, the more I love this movie.

As much as I'd like Snipes to happen for anything, he's not even the fourth priority for Netflix. We have Pesci and Pacino from "Irishman", Alda and Liotta from "Marriage Story" and Hopkins from "The Two Popes", all three films have got much, much better reviews. If Snipes doesn't get a surprise push from critics - which I don't see it happening - he's not getting nominated for anything (at least individually, I don't count out SAG ensemble nom). Though I hope it'll bring him more opportunities in the future. He was a great action star but that action star persona somewhat made him underrated, people kept forget that he is a gifted dramatic (Jungle Fever, Waterdance, New Jack City) and comedic actor (Major League, Wong Foo).

John Casado so let me get this right, you think that a movie the magnitude of Coming to America should forego the massive potential financial success of the box office vs going directly to Netflix for nominal money? Either you are too young to understand the mega success the first Coming to America attained or you don’t understand business and commerce. Possibly both. Netflix is a wonderful platform but does not compare to theatre openings and monetary gains. That’s like saying the Avengers should have released their franchise directly to Netflix. No sir, it would NOT be a moment. It would be terribly foolish. Smh

I was watching a "making of" documentary of "Dolemite Is My Name" on TH-cam and Eddie Murphy said that while other great comics succeeded because they had talent, Rudy Moore came from the BOTTOM of the BOTTOM of the barrell and he succeeded because "HE WAS THE LOSER WHO REFUSES TO LOSE!" MY GOD! That struck a chord in me! And just as the Lord gave to me early this morning, a word to encourage you, I share this with you as well: DON'T YOU GIVE UP ON YOU! Eyes have not seen nor ears have heard nor have entered into the heart of man what the Lord has in store for them who love Him! God has created you for a purpose and that dream is STILL ALIVE WITHIN YOU BECAUSE YOU STILL LIVE!
Don't you give up! Don't you give in! As DeGarmo & Key sang, "Only the Losers Win!" It doesn't matter what people may say about you! It doesn't matter what you may think of yourself! It doesn't matter the color of your skin or how long you've been in your skin! It took 25 YEARS for Abraham & Sarah from the time God gave the promise for it to come to pass and for them to have their first son, Issac! DON'T YOU GIVE UP! THE PROMISE SHALL COME TO PASS! People may call you a loser, but you hold fast to your faith!
Believe in God and know that God made you, and God makes no mistakes!
Believe in you! You be THE LOSER WHO REFUSES TO LOSE and you shall live VICTORIOUSLY!

I was happy for Wesley Snipes when I saw him acting in this film. He and Eddie in that Dolomite fight scene sold me instantly! Eddie's improv is so quietly brilliant it's explosive and Wesley Snipes is hilarious down to the inch- with him cutting his eyes to the side when Dolemite asks him how was the fight performance. (btw no one mentions how well the guys fighting him did as supporting actors, facial expressions --and Their, and Eddie's chorus of hilarious 'authentic' confusion when Wesley yells CUT!) Wesley was such a great a strong underscore in this movie. So humble as well in all the interviews. Wes and Eddie I look forward to seeing more of you guys in Coming To America - and beyond!
