Fantastic video Colin I see you caught me a few times on there!!!! So great to see this coaster in England after going to Germany so many times over the years to ride it!
Its TOTALLY AWESOME isnt it!! Ive ridden it over 30 times the past two decades at Munich Octoberfest and mainly at the Hamburg "DOM" and it never ceases to amaze me! Anton Schwarzkorf was a "coaster designer genious" and his like will probably never be seen again....this has the second best first drop, only slightly better is the legendary "Thriller"(4 looper),which i personally regarded as his "absolute best"....shame its no longer travelling and now "static" in a USA. :)
1:17 Now look at that! It's Shawn and Chris from Theme park worldwide! And again at 7:31! But to be honest this coaster looks Outstanding! It's just sad that this coaster in the coming years may get the Wrecking ball.
Yes Dr! LOL - Everyone who is anyone was there! ;-) I think its quite safe for now... it seems to be doing well here, and it still does really well at Oktoberfest. It may retire from touring at some point, but am sure it'll find a home if and when it does.
they dont seem to mind if you wait for the front seat. they let us do it on both occasions I have visited in the past few days. It was very quiet tho. never had to wait for more than one train. I think the 9 pounds price keeps the queue length down somewhat!
I don't think it's the fact that it's £9 which keeps the queue down I think it's more due to the high throughput. On preview night, Maus XXL had a massive queue which was barely moving up yet Olympia was only on two trains but was dispatching like mad so the throughput would have been tonnes higher. Maybe it's a combination of the two factors though but it's certainly not waiting for riders- every train is full so it's good for them as they are making their money and it's good for us as there's less waiting time! :)
Yeah, as Ian & DT kindly inform, and as I've always found at Oktoberfest... they're much more chilled out than our corporate dictators (who shouldn't be running theme parks anyway!). Go Pro's are welcome, they draw the line at selfie-sticks though! And yeah, this was filmed on the preview & opening nights, watched it running 3 trains with a 2 train wait. And as DT points out, Maus XXL still had a full queue pen to.
Hey Col. Cheers for the vid! I have an ongoing issue with headaches at the moment (seeing a GP about it), but hope I can get it sorted before the Hyde Park season is over. What are the headline flats this year?
Hope you're fighting fit again soon BenG, keep me posted... You're main flats this year are: Starflyer, Hangover tower, Snow Jet, Air, No Limit furioso, Gladiator, XXL, WWExpress, Ski Jump (rock rage), Ski Jump (ski jump!!), Yeti hopper, Jumper suspended hopper, Huss Take Off themed 'From Russia With Love', 3 dodgems, miami, 2 rotor walls, 2 waveswingers, ferris wheel, giant wheel, baubles, pirate ship, and if you include the 2 junior apples there are 8 coasters!!
Nice one, very emotional!
LOL. Need a tissue? ;-) xx

This ride is the Polar Express For Coaster Enthusiasts xD
Hopefully I can get there and ride it before it goes :(
Are you allowed to wait for front seat? Hope to combine an overnight stay for work with a visit to the Fair in first week of December.
We'll second that question!
