Physically beautiful if you can make it to the Pitons or have a trustworthy local guide who will drive you around the island. The island however is dangerous because it is rife with poverty and desperation. You never hear about the tourist who get murdered for attempted rape, or tourists who die in car crashes, or those who drown on snorkeling trips because they can't swim. Don't take any risks in a place like this because you'll pay for it with your life.
My wife and I lived from 2003 till 2015 in St- Lucia.It was nice till 2013. We left in November 2014 and live now in beautiful Boquete in the highlands of Panama near Costa Rica. Nice friendly people. Boquete the valley of the flowers and external spring. Coat of living is here about 30-40% cheaper. Nature is great.

Looks like a trip for fragile luxury travellers...which means it is totally forgettable. Rich people couldn't enjoy real travelling if their life depended upon it. Rich people would go up to a local and say "How much does it cost for me to enjoy this trip? I will pay you $10,000 up front!"

Hotel was fine and the water was warm but the beaces were lame- no waves or good snorkeling- and the food was borderline terrible, at least in the Rodney Bay area. Of course everything will cost you a pretty penny also. Also, be prepared to get constantly harrased for money...all day long if you leave the resort. It gets old really fast. Off the resort it resembles a third world country, Grand Cayman and Turks and Caicos are much better destinations.
We lived 12 years in St. Lucia. Beautiful island. However as from 2010 it went to pot. High un-and under employment. Quite expensive. So we left in 2014 and moved to Boquete-Panama.Beautiful and quite cheap. I really recommend a visit to Panama. A very mixed population. Not the black vs white mentallity. Public transport is good and CHEAP.

Traveller's will be ripped-off by locals. From renting a vehicle to accommodation is utterly over-priced. STAY AWAY FROM EASTERN CARIBBEAN ISLANDS. Thailand is much better place to visit at 1/3 of the cost.
