Squire Ceremony of Jokull Blæingr May 25, 2024

Within the Society for Create Anachronism (SCA) there are many traditions practiced across the known world. One is that of squires.
Squires are students to members of Order of the Chivalry, be they Knights or Masters At Arms. Each relationship is different, some are fairly informal, while others are highly detailed.
Being a squire is not an award, but a description of a relationship to a mentor, and a statement of intent to walk the path of Chivalry, on AND off the field. To learn not just the martial arts, but service and non-combat arts as well. It is often said that a squire is not an award, it is a job title.
