    Hi Shane I've found cleaning barrel now and again does improve my Springer but I only do it when it starts to shoot off a bit 👍

    I always clean a brand new barrel because a lot of new guns have anti corrosion gunk inside to stop corrosion while shipped/stored. Only cean after that if accuracy drops off

    With a new rifle or pistol I’ll pull through between 10-20 times before the bore is clean, amazing what comes out- then every 200 pellets - Napier pull through and power oil too! You need three Napier patches for .22 and two for .177 to do a good job!

  • @michaelholt7963

    Pull the pull through down about an inch then put a bit of spray down the barrel then pull you will get no gunge shit at the business end of the barrel so it won't matter if you use cheap wd 40. Looks like it did the job

    Hi Shane, cleaning barrels is a mute point, Matt Manning off the airgun show says he's never cleaned the
    barrels on his guns, and they say it takes at least a couple of hundred pellets to re lead them, I must admit
    I have never cleaned My barrels, and as far as I'm aware have had no problems.

      Normally you wouldn't unless there's an issue but a lot of new guns, especially the cheaper ones have loads of oil in the barrels and need cleaning.

    A new rifle needs a clean to remove all the preservatives from the rifling grooves. Then clean only when you notice a decline in accuracy.

    My NP02 sub 12 22cal loves Polymag shorts for ratting up to 25 yds, group opens up after that but if i use JSB then they are good to 30 yds.
    Barrel cleaned when new then haven't had to clean it after at least 2000 shots

    Try the h&n field target pellets, Kral allegedly use them as a test pellet in the factory. I used to have the same gun and found the head size of the pellet(4.51) made a big difference. Ended up getting penny sized groups at 35yrds with qys streamlined heavy pellets in 4.49. Good luck with the testing.

  • @wichywoo

    hi Shane try trying it without the silencer and with a different silencer as some pellets/rifles are silencer fussy . i know it sounds silly but its true . i would imagine you should be getting clover lea groups without a silencer and a pellet it likes then take it from there . i have riffles that wont entertain dome of my other riffles silencers . you also need to keep your silencers clean , then theres' a case of is the pellet clipping the silencer. in my experience the longer the silencer the more risk of clipping occurs due to tolerances in the threads and silencer adaptor fit , i loose fitting adaptor is a no-no if it slops around when the grub screws are loose it really needs packing with foil or tape equally around the whole barrel until the adaptor just slides on without any wobble, which should in theory at least true-up the adaptor which should intern true up the silencer or make it more central which improves consistency/accuracy .. food for thought Shane .

    • @shaneweightman
      @shaneweightman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep food for thought buddy will look at your ideas and give it some thought , never cleaned the silencer before after only 300 odd shots , it’s not loose , or doesn’t use an adapter , half inch u n f , and when pellets clip , it’s usually a lot of in accurate shots as apposed to the odd shot , I will compare to my hw 57 , at 31 yards and see what that does also get some other pellets that I’ve not yet tried as well , pellet choice is king 🤴, cheers shane

    Hi Shane, I clean my barrels every 150-250 pellets and it surprising how much muck comes out- it’s best not to use WD40 though as it eats O rings and creeps inside the interior of guns.

    you want to lead a barrel, it improves the seal on pellet. I'd try different pellet brands to improve accuracy, and then if necessary weigh pellets. I get less than 4 fps spread in 10 shots, with a chrono, with unwieghed pellets that suit my rifle.

    • @shaneweightman
      @shaneweightman  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I lead all the barrels , buddy , this one had dirty bsa pellets going through it , hence poor accuracy,, I used to weigh pellets , and spend ages doing head sizing , and decided life’s to short for all that shite after buying some individual weighed and hand sorted j s b pellets that were 30 odd quid for 200 premium in a plastic box called jsb super match pellets and guess what ,, they were rubbish and letting people shoot them at the gun club through expensive high end guns with Czech barrels they came to the same conclusion, presume you haven’t watched many of my videos ,, cheers shane

      Thanks for the tip buddy , to save you looking through my vids , when I get a new gun , I have a session at 30 yards, and shoot around 10 brands of pellets through the gun then buy the pellets for that particular gun that did best , in the case of the Kral np02 I currently have ,, it likes the BSA fury pellets best out of the ones i had at the time , very handy cos they arnt very expensive, however I’ve come to think it’s more related to head size than brand , as I can’t get them to go in the barrel of the Remington express they are very hard to push in the breach on that gun , so I can only presume they must be slightly bigger than a standard head size pellet , but can’t find the info on the actual tin related to head size , but for the saving in money - I don’t mind washing a tin of pellets if it saves a fiver on just one tin , cheers shane
