This is truly beautiful, it’s like looking through a window through time. I really enjoyed just ignoring the craziness of today’s world for a few minutes of my day to sit in a mix of wonder and curiosity!
*Living in New York since I was born 30 years ago, it's always amazing to see how NY looked like before my time. Also crazy to think everyone in this video is gone. 🕊️ 🧸 🕯️💐*
Always impressed by how Lost in Time makes these priceless clips look so contemporary. So 1911, a year of innocence. Sure none of these subjects anticipated a world confligration in 36 months, nor in 28 yrs., a second one. And in 1912, the loss of RMS Titanic!
4:14 Philadelphia was the next port of call for the “Rosedale” as she appeared in and around the Quaker city on the Delaware river in 1917 and continuing there until 1920. She was then taken to Norfolk, Virginia and laid up at the Merritt & Chapman yard. Fire ravaged the Rosedale in 1922 while she was laid-up at Norfolk, ending the career which had begun 45 years previous at the same port.
So so so sad to realize all those in the video have passed away.. Maybe even their children.. They lived, loved, hated, tried, failed, won, gained, lost, discovered, told others too, they kept secrets, they made mistakes, they did well, they did bad, they learned, they felt, they felt pain, joy, sorrow, they grew up, they wore good clothes, bad clothes, they lied, they told the truth, they had different tastes, different orientations, but they died.. they all died in the end, no matter how they lived.... Imagine how lucky they were to live.. To see their "modernism".. To see their "world" at that time evolve. It was in a constant evolution.. And now they're gone.. They don't even know they enjoyed life.. This is us, human beings.. Lucky to be born, damned to die and lose the biggest treasure: Conciousness.. Life is a line waiting to die.. We just don't know when's our turn Ps: Please, live and let people live! ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE NOW.. You won't feel it twice. Ps2.1: For those commenting about religion, reincarnation and other dreams, I'm sorry but we only live once, there's no proof of other life afterwards. That's why it's so important to be good, to do good things and have hope life will get better.

These old films keep me mesmerized or hypnotized me with these beautiful scenes and people. The background music is sad but creating a more immersive experience for us.
I have a suggestion. You have a nice voice so I would suggest use it to talk about what we are seeing along with some interesting facts about the area, the buildings etc.

Hello creator of this wonderful channel, I like your Videos but I would like to try to get back into listening to audiobooks-and plays and read some shorter paperbacks.. Do you have a recommendation for either or both of them, that'd be great? Thanks in advance. ♥ ♥
Saya terkesan, di video nampak terlihat damai, fashion yang bagus dan seragam sopan, nampak ramai entah apa yang mereka kerjakan orang zaman dulu tak ada orang yang terburu buru.
The city is really beautiful grandfa grandma great grandfa great grandma great great grandfa great great grandma ❤ it,s an honor to be able to see everyone I can,t see everyone now, but I wish you happiness in heaven ❤
These people or their predisesors didnot build these awe inspiring cities. The wireless electricity is incredible, the horse and cart and the new petroleum cars are our contribution to this utopia and nothing more
What a beautiful city it once was. The post-WWII architecture has destroyed any semblance of charm that once typified old New York. This is probably true of most big cities worldwide.
C'est triste de se dire , meme si c'est la vie , que nous aussi un jour nous ne serons plus que une images figé d' un passé plus ou moins lointain , oublié de tous...comme si on avait jamais existés.😢

Fantastic videos but you really spoil them by the watermark in the middle of the screen. It is too distracting and keeps pulling my eyes to it. If you must have it put it in a corner and make it a lot less visible please.
We world went from every man wearing suits and women being dressed up to go out to now the don't even brush their hair and they wear pajama's in public. I like these scenes much better than today's reality!!

I love this. Thank you for this amazing time capsule! One of those could've been my great grandfather coming over from Europe.
Impossivel não se impressionar com um vídeo desse.
I'm going to stop my working to watch the video

Always fascinated by these colorized historical footage, they’re amazing. Wish I could have this running as a screensaver.
Love these old photos thanks for sharing

Good job 👍👏👏👏
Don't stop 😉
Beautiful
That look so nice
I have a suggestion. You have a nice voice so I would suggest use it to talk about what we are seeing along with some interesting facts about the area, the buildings etc.
It's artificial voice not the uploaders real voice.
The video is heartwarming though.
@@Bonnie1.2.3 In either case it is scripted. Simple searches can uncover interesting facts to use as voice over for the video.
So classy, elegant clothes. I remember seeing my grandfather wearing a hat.
Wonderful!! Can anyone identify the building from 5:52-6:05? It’s incredible!
Fantastic
Love it 😍
Is that snow? No coats? No gloves? Explain LUCY!
So cool. You got the streetcar in there also❤
Every man had a suit to wear in the city. Anyone going back in time now would look so out of place, which I guess is normal.

A point in US history when we were transitioning to motorized transport but still plenty of horse carriages and lots of horse manure on the streets.
I was taken at the thumbnail. To all you ladies who dress like women, God bless you.
I don't see any obese people.
Question do you use ai upscale for this video and photo (update it does use ai upscale)
Most probably, yes.
Check the description.
Colorized
Upscaled to 4K
Enhanced using Al
Interpolated to 60 fps
Stabilized (some footage)
@ oh shit did’t realise that my bad
It’s still like this today. My chauffeur is from Uganda and drives me around in my Rolls Royce daily.
Beautiful….

who here thinks that those amazing buildings weren't made by 1800's folk? I think they've been around for a LOT longer than that.

I don't. No colour, no variety, no individualism, everyone looking the same like they're mass produced in a bland clone factory. 🙄
True. We used to have much more pride in our appearance, while remaining humble and modest. We are just crazy wild amimals now.
@@markysumm72"colour". Your argument is invalid.
Exactly, pajamas in public is my Pet Peeve!
@markysumm72 just because the film was black and white does not mean the color was not there in reality.
