    I love dividend index funds. Between pension and dividends retired age 57, passive income pretty much covers expenses

    Let's be honest the real way he made money is by becoming a successful TH-camr selling his viewers dreams of investing. Instead of investing money, start a finance channel, you’ll make actual money compared to investing.

      You are right bro.. Making TH-cam for $190.48 😂 cannot stop my laugh..

    • @AndreiJikh
      @AndreiJikh  ปีที่แล้ว +376

      On the surface... I'd say 95% is thanks to youtube income, and 5% investing. With more context though: investing is what got me to the point where I was able to even try my hand at TH-cam... so which came first - the chicken or the egg? I don't know. Either way, I'm not "selling" anything - yet.

      You’re selling the idea that dividends are free money, when in reality they are irrelevant. When a dividend is paid out, the value of the underlying decreases by the exact amount paid out (and you get taxed).

    Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

    Benjamin Franklin famously once quoted that 'Money makes money. And the money that money makes, makes more money'. In his quote, Franklin is referencing the power of compounding interest - where money earns interest, and that earned interest then earns more interest.

  • @miriamstrauss

    I always love your year-end dividend update. You can also try setting up a trust for your kids so they can never spend the principle except for severe emergencies (medical issues and other extreme circumstances, or at milestones like when they get married, etc) and they only get the dividends paid out to them periodically. So they are forced to learn budgeting. This way hopefully they won’t squander all the money lol.

    • @vladutzuli
      @vladutzuli ปีที่แล้ว

      Marriage is not a valid reason to liquidate the principle. What, are they just gonna sell the golden goose that could provide long-term stability for the family they are about to create....so they can have a big wedding and honeymoon? That logic itself shows the person is not to be trusted with that money.

    • @GarbageDanks
      @GarbageDanks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol don't ever setup a trust! Just put your kids name on everything. My grandfather created a trust and we learned that it was his biggest mistake. The trustees job is to develop an income through drawing funds from your account and your kids will not have a say in how the trust is managed. You're basically hiring someone to steal your kids money slowly and methodically.

    • @Devillionaire
      @Devillionaire ปีที่แล้ว +3

      so create more spoiled trust fund brats…. great. alternatively you could be a good parent and actually TEACH your kids the principles of personal finance from a young age.

      He is almost entirely broad market index funds like VTI and VOO, with just a little bit in other assets like crypto and collectables, and relatively recently started trying his hand at real estate... but it is probably a bit too early to tell how his real estate gamble is going with an ARM mortgage on a rather expensive property. If you watch his videos he gives a pretty clear idea on what he invests in.

    • @AndreiJikh
      @AndreiJikh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Let me explain how my 7/1 ARM works. My rate on the ARM is 2.5% for 7 years. That means it's LOCKED for 7 years. In fact, the property would have to drop 50% from where I bought it for the payment to be the same as where it is today. I'd say that's a pretty good gamble so far. Thanks!
