Golf MK4 GTI auto headlights switch upgrade!

- An annoying aspect of all mk4 golf's / jettas / boras is that they do not come with auto headlights!
I'm using this app for Bluetooth configuration -

I purchased one from AliExpress for another golf and it worked great so decided to do it again.

Huge thanks AJR. Your video has inspired me and snapped me out of a bad depression which has made me feel awful for days now. So, I'm going to fit the switch I bought the other week, and go for a drive. I kept thinking - "how the heck do you take the side panel off around the fuse box?" But you've shown exactly how simple it comes off and snaps back into place. Anyway, have a great day buddy.

You have the same drivers side door microswitch issue i do, annoying as balls and cba to remove everything including the window regulator to fix lol
Also installed this light switch a couple of years ago, listing said it was bluetooth but never believed it because it was so cheap, guess i'm gonna have to try the app now as the turn on duration is so long.
Definitely try the app there's quite a few settings in there to play with

bit what happens when you turn off your car in the dark? normally when your lights are on, the car will beep and leaves on the small lights.
how does it sense that the car is off?
It knows the car is off by ignition switch.
Does this headlight switch work for golf 4 1.6 petrol

At night time when you unlock the car do the lights turn on automatically ?
Mine is set to off but there is a setting to switch that on.

Hi, my switch dosn’t want to connect with both android and iphone, what should i do?
There's 2 version of the switch. Bluetooth and non Bluetooth.
Did you get the Bluetooth version?
@@ajrveedub Yes, but the app is not updated, it keeps crashing on Iphone and on Android when u click scan it does nothing.
Hi please use elec gear auto light app. Search for it on Google's works for me no crash.

Hey since you have had this auto switch for a year now if you havent removed it. Do you have any complaints or anything thats bothering you about it?? might consider buying one
No complaints, it's set and forget. I never need to really touch it unless I have the car ok accessory and need to manually turn it off, othereise it's forever on auto.
Does it come in blue back light to match?
Don't think so, I've only ever gotten the same one. I've bought 4 now.
Can this be compatible with a MK1 Golf?
I don't think so. Mk1 Golf's headlight controls are very different

@@ClaudeInfiniteRealm They only make these rotary switches (big plug and small plug). I think it is theoretically possible, but it would require reconnecting wired inside the car and taking apart the switch.
App can't detect the switch (various Android phones, all failed)
