    i like that Jane subtly burned the cop by saying he was batman and the cop was aquaman.

    wow he actually has a point lol, if cops truely wanted people to slow down they would park out in the open but instead they hide in wait for people so they can write tickets and meet their quota.

    • @ottokarl5427
      @ottokarl5427 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Dunno how it is in America, but it is not about quota in germany. Here those speedtraps (with cameras, not police btw) are a crucial part of financing a bankrupt city. It is actually a really nice income for them.

      I was fascinated by Jane that I too thought that for a long time.. but if you think about it clearly, it's not that they lay in hiding but about making people follow the speed limit, even if there aren't cops around.. speed limit is already displayed at many places but people still speed, so it is like punishment for their speeding... :)

      Jane has a point, but if people only drive responsibly when they know cops to be present, then maybe they drive recklessly in other situations. If you never know whether there's a police car waiting to catch you in the act, you will err on the side of safety and avoid risky behavior.
      Though getting fines or tickets isn't a perfect system either. It doesn't affect people of different means the same way. It can decimate the savings of someone who couldn't afford to fix their tail lights, but it doesn't act as much of a deterrent for rich people who won't feel a pinch in their pockets

      Agreed. Jane can be annoying to a lot of people, but he's so kind hearted. Like that time he wins the casino money and gives it to the girl who used to work there, for her mother's treatment
      Really a gem of a person, with a dark past, healed by the wonderful team he got, especially Lisbon.
      And that he got his revenge, of course

      And Columbo would probably need a wheelchair to get around at his age. 😁

    The biggest problem with alcoholism is alcohol isn't illegal. You get caught with narcotics.. your in pretty serious shit.. but the arrogance and the availability of those who do drink and don't respect the genuine struggles of those who do.. all I can say is be interesting to see what would happen if they saw the actual ramifications and I don't mean where it's just ok now I'm uncomfortable and going home.. or walking away... But in an environment like a child where there is no out.. and then see if their attitude changed at all. Not saying people can't drink.. I'm talking about having respect towards those who abstain or need to abstain. People will justify their own rights to do something without thinking about the backlash affects upon others. There are kids who suffer because of the arrogance of drinkers who disrespect those who struggle they have no idea of the reality of what happens when some people drink. Truth is those often claiming Christianity are the worst. So busy justifying their own ability to drink a substance that alters their mood.. that they don't stop to think that for some that means violence.. not all violence is physical it can be verbal it can be emotional.. but no kid should be living in fear or screaming out silently or not so silently for help. The brush of of kids are resilient.. they can be.. but those kids grow up and are living each and every day with the affects us of the past environment. Make no mistake. It carries into adulthood.. it never really leaves. So abandonment issues are pretty real for those who have been in a genuinely violent or unstable home. Though instability isn't from moving house to house. Instability is often foundationally in inconsistency. Though a person can use it to their advantage.. learning to become more adaptable.. because truth is that's all they really know. It's not a right or an excuse to enter into criminal activity though. It might help explain the whys.. it doesn't justify them.

      The problem with people who think that alcohol should be illegal are the ones who caused the mob to come into existence if everyone just took responsibility for their own selves instead of asking the government regulate things for everyone maybe we'd live in a better world
