For people concerned about the kids's English. I was born in Japan. My French dad was talking to me in French but I would always answer in Japanese and speak in Japanese with my grandparents. Kids start to learn one language after the other. I am now completely fluent in both Japanese and French with a stronger French as I moved to Europe later. A language can be learnt during youth and there is no necessity to hurry with 4 yo children.
Same like Naeun and Gunhoo, they started/ starting with German because of their Mom, I guess that's the same with William and Ben.
Yes, especially william is still 3 he has a lot of time. In fact that he already can talk with his baby english is already good enough. I remember sarang started with japanese also for 3 years but know she fluents with 3 languanges.
Yes. And it's also good to speak the native language of wherever you're living first (for obvious reasons). And William seems to understand what his Nana is saying, he just can't speak in complete English.

Why a lot of people are worried about Ben and William skills in english? Sam already said that he teach english to the kids, and off the show he speak in english with them. All you need to calm down
i would be worried if sam does speaks 5 days in english and 2 days in korean (on shooting) but william's english skill is still on that level. he might understands, but if he cant answer, it can't be two-way communication. i do think sam didnt speak english to them in the beginning, because the child would answer in the same language even with limited words then (this happens to my niece also). naeun for example, she would speak spanish to her grandmother and not other language, even though her words are limited. i guess another worry is nana is really old but we don't know when william will be able to connect in conversation with nana
Asih Untari it’s not a worry at all. And comparing their family to Naeun’s is unfair.
Their family travels a lot. She spends half her time in European countries to visit her mom’s family and for her dads soccer games, it makes better sense that she’s multilingual. William’s whole life has been and likely will be in Korea.
His parents can go at their own pace with teaching him languages. He’s naturally social enough to pick up on it anyways.
I just hate when people criticize parents for not teaching their kids enough. It’s a hard job just to teach kids one language. Coming from a multilingual family, I say they’re doing perfectly fine.
Asih Untari each kid has its own learning schedule, comparing each other not really good. Even they are under same learning environment, outcome will b different. Like the twins, seojun spoke a lot earlier than seoyeon. Now both of them also look good. Don’t worries too much.

i simply guess what people possibly worried about from my point of view. i was having my niece and naeun as example not about multilingual, but to show child can distinguish who speaks what. it's such as distinguishing who to speak formal and informal with. i never said sam lied about teaching his kids english. it's just that it makes more sense if the reason behind william's skill is the later english exposure (could be for good reason wanting william more exposed to the language in place he lives in). and if that's the case, no worry then, they will pickup english as time goes by
and my reasoning to assuming later english exposure is william would have learned how to answer and mix words in english knowing his dad speaks majority english and minority korean. i usually provide reasoning when saying anything because then it would be baseless assumption

Villya So it’s already really good that William can speak a little and Ben understand. If Sam do like he dont understand Korean, William can speak English better (like Naeun, her mom doesnt speak Korean). But as you can see Sam speak well Korean, William find out that he doesnt have to speak English with Sam
