After putting on thick spacer and needle bearing after stiff snap ring. When I put my reverse gear on. The gear is not flush with the top of the needle bearing cage as is visible in your video. IS THIS A PROBLEM. Snap rings are all in the correct places. Thinking maybe you have needle bearing that is taller. Possibly didnt slide down all the way. Can send a picture if it helps. Love the step by step. It's very helpful. Can't get any shop around here to work on manual transmissions.
Around 10:49 you're putting reverse gear on and you rotate the gear until it drops into the synchro, did you have to align the gear with the syncro any special way? I'm using the dodge shop manual and it generally says to rotate it until it drops on. I just had the rear bearing pressed on and the collar between reverse and 1st is REALLY hard to shift between gears in comparison with the other shift collars that shift pretty easily (I have to pry the collar between settings). Does that sound normal or should I pull the rear bearing and re check this area? Thanks for all your nv4500 and 5.9L videos!
I’m wondering where the black slide guides go my brother showed me 3 go on shift fork they were like white plastic and that seemed like it was inside when pulled it apart found gobs of plastic I’m not sure if there extra . Shift fork shim slide guides I also found bearing in rear housing not in kit I had to order special but I would of never got it with out your video I messed up when flipped I put snap ring on to soon but finally got it reassembled mine was jumping out of top locking in fifth leaving stick in n then they tore clutch out so hopefully in few days I’ll have it working
How did you get the pressed on 3rd gear synchro huh off? I'm in the process of disassembling mind and I'm kind of scratching my head. Thanks for all of the uploads though they've been very helpful!
I used a 3" 3 jaw puller. I was able to hold the three jaw puller with one hand and turn the wrench with the other so it's not very tight. No heat required. I'm too late but hopefully it helps someone.
Good video work and clear descriptions of the steps involved. Thanks
Thank you for your videos, God bless brother!

What rebuild kit do you recommend to use on this transmission?
