  • Earlier this year 18 Helmeted Honeyeaters bred at Healesville Sanctuary were released at Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve. This will help strengthen wild populations of the critically endangered Helmeted Honeyeater and is a positive story for National Threatened Species day!
Thanks to our partners at Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Parks Victoria, Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater, Monash University, Melbourne Water and the Helmeted Honeyeater Recovery Team for making this happen!

In my front yard I have about 6 young wild helmeted honeyeaters. They love the blue tubular flowers that grow there and have bred in another tree which is native.
