I have to do a book launch for a fake autobiography with only one actual chapter written (I am supposed to have an overarching concept, back cover blurb, etc) in a couple days and I only have a few minutes to speak. I've never been to a book launch and I'm really not sure what it's supposed to look like, any advice?

Hello Drazz, it depends as there is no set number; nonetheless, it is a choice you'll have to make when looking to launch your book. Some start out from 10 books up to 100, but it is solely your decision. Focus on the number of attendees that register to your launch and that should give you an indication of the number of books you'll like to order.
Am really scared for my first book launch😭😩 i feel like backing off . What if people dont like it? What if my story isnt loved ? What if it is just a childish idea rather than a mature one

@@authenticworth I'm considering it for sure. My sister is an author and she thinks getting people to pre-order the book will boost it in the algorithm once the book is released. The downside will be that I'd be delaying the book even longer lol. It's not a bad idea though

Regarding the algorithms, that is a good idea, and you could promote the book on your website if you have one. Aside from Amazon, is there any other platform or site you will be looking to promote your book? Pre-orders are good if you are looking to build an authentic audience and keep them staying with you :)
@@authenticworth I'll likely promote on social media in general via different videos talking about the book and promote those videos. As far as selling the book elsewhere I'm not sure. I'm only familiar with Amazon lol. . She has a book releasing soon called Dirty Pleasures.

I'm debating on just dropping the book and promoting it or delaying/promoting and then dropping it maybe a month or so away.
