So as you can tell by the title, I’ve finally moved out to Charlotte for work! A lot of you have been asking for the Unfurnished Apartment tour, and here it is! I absolutely LOVE it and cannot wait to decorate! Let me know in the comments if you’d like to see the furnished tour or even more vlogs! Hi guys! I know I’ve been gone for a while (adulting is not all it’s cracked up to be lol I be tied) but I see all of your comments! It’s getting to be a bit overwhelming, so I’m thinking of just making a video trying to answer all of your questions without sharing too much personal information! Naturally She’s Fly Yeah, I live in a house and bought them so I didn’t have to go to a laundromat. It’s amazing lol. If I ever move into an apartment, washer/dryer are a must!
You live around the corner from me. I’ve been here nearly 15 years and have lived at my uptown CLT property for 12 years. Welcome! It’s a lovely place. New, clean; good career opportunities and finding it’s cultural legs very quickly. Everyone can thrive her. Young people, families and retirees.
Would you know how it is for young families in Charlotte? Is it possible to live in an apartment and still find a good elementary school for children? May be coming from London, UK where all this is within easy reach so a bit worried about the move! Thx xx

Lucie Marama Charlotte is an excellent city for young families. You can find apartments of any size throughout the city that are proximate to schools and community amenities. The city also supports a good life style across the socioeconomic spectrum. The south side (Ballantyne, SouthPark, Park Rd, Arboretum, Steele Creek, etc.) is the higher end of the city. East and West Charlotte are more affordable areas but have many communities where a young family can rent a nice apartment or purchase a starter home. North Charlotte [University area, etc.) is chock full of amenities and decent schools within the public school system. The city center and its bedroom communities (Dilworth, Elizabeth, the Wards, Greenville, South End, Myers Park) are the heartbeat of the city and the priciest. Each quadrant of the city is self contained with its own personality. This is true of the cities throughout Mecklenburg county and the Charlotte region as a whole. You can stay in Mecklenburg county but not Charlotte proper. Huntersville is excellent for families as are Cornelius, Davidson, Matthews, Pineville and Mint Hill. Charlotte is close to the beach and the mountains and has a ton of culture and jobs. The suburbs of South Carolina and the lake communities make up the Charlotte region. Once you settle in and learn the place, you will discover so many good opportunities for your family and have a selection of good areas to live in. The area is not devoid of crime, but for the most part is safe, very clean and lots of new, modern construction. It’s ever growing. I have been here 14 years from NYC(my hometown) and I highly recommend.
Travis Oneill Charlotte has a mild climate. I’m a Brooklyn native. Moved here when I was 32 and haven’t had to shovel out a car yet. In terms of natural disasters, the most the piedmont area will get are outer bands from a hurricane. It’s been hit a few times, but it’s not a prone area by any means. The area does have an extremely volatile spring season. Tornadoes, flooding, damaging hail and violent lightning are not unusual during the warmer months. Were not tornado alley, but we get our share.

Just FYI, those lights are pendants. Sconces are lights that are attached to a wall. Generally sconces light upwards, but some ,light up and down.

@@myabenson7147 The Park at Caterina Apartments, Palmer Apartments near Arrowood, South Ridge Apartments on South Tryon, Aurea Station Apartments, Sharon Crossings Apartments, both near South Blvd, anything in the Ballantyne area of south Charlotte is also very nice. Prices very from like the low 800-900 range but can get pricey depending on what you are looking for. Also a good resource is apartments.com. It's much easier if you download the app. Good luck with your search

Lol, that’s a Nest Thermostat, it’s controlled via an app on your phone and yes, it has motion sensing technology because when it sees that no one is moving around the house it can go into eco mode which helps conserve energy. Down load the app and link it up (I know I’m four months late and hopefully you’ve done this already).

Dee C it’s pretty standard I think. A little more expensive than most of the Midwest, but it depends on what part of town I believe

I got a feeling this apartment is around or almost $2k.
Actually in North Carolina, compared to up north (for example where I live nj/ny where this would be 2K starting) , down south is much cheaper. My cousin lives in a similar apartment and it’s only 1K. All the apartments are super affordable with 2 bedroom apartments for under 1300
@@dhrxmrshawty2264 yes, a two bedroom apartment in NC ranges from 1200-1500.. but the more luxurious ones can go up to 2k plus for a two bedroom apartment which is still considerably cheaper than New York and places like so...

I am a retiree and I live in Charlotte on the North end, not the best, but definitely not the worst. I moved into a two bedroom apartment for $675 (brand new complex). When my sisters came to visit they said, wow, it looks like a little house. I lucked up, it's definitely a spacey apartment. But, it's income based and 55+.

Lower cost of living (well compared to NYC where I'm from) and an urban city vibe with underlying Southern vibe so it's like you get the best of both worlds

University City and University Area. The rent is kinda affordable and the area doesn’t have that much crime.

Agree with Gregory Blyther. University is good for young people and has newer and older properties to choose from. NODA is more eclectic and interesting. Very walkable and culturally rich. Getting pricey though. Southwest Charlotte has affordable communities but more geared to families. Southeast is $$$ and I wouldn’t live on the east side unless I had to. Crime ridden and overcrowded.
