Boney M. was a disco band produced by Frank Farian that had international success, especially in the 1970s, with songs such as Daddy Cool, Rivers of Babylon and Ma Baker. Boney M. has sold over 150 million records worldwide, including more than 60 million singles. If I'm not mistaken, the contract with the group was limited to a certain period of time. If I'm not mistaken, after the group dissolved, they tried to found a new one, but that was banned because of copyright. The group was brought from Jamaica. Everything else was history. Imagine Frank Faraian went to Jamaica and got some unknown group and signed a temporary record deal with them like Boney M

The record contract with Bonney M was limited from the start. When the contract was terminated, the group wanted to continue under the same name. According to my memories, there was also a trial. However, the name was protected by copyright. So that a new edition came to nothing. By chance I read that front man Bobby Farrel died in 2010.

Boney M isn't really a German group. The guy behind it is German, but the performers are Carribean, iirc.

But the German guy you referred to is also the male singer (actually there also was a second one), so he probably was right when he said he heard some German

This is a cultural jam from 1979. They were Caribbean people living in W Germany 🇩🇪 singing in English, wearing a Soviet Union costumes, the others musicians are wearing Arabs stuff, singing about Rasputin at a Music Festival in Sopot Poland 🇵🇱. Those songs were too famous in Cuba at that time.

Can you react to Dek Ulik ft Widi Widiana - Sing Dadi Nakal. This is a Balinese song, maybe you won't understand the lyrics but you can react to the melody, their voices etc.

How about reacting to ABBA song TIGER , just thought you might find it a catchy tune.
