This is one great buy! Z51 on an LT3...you are looking at high dollars new and used. This will sell for close to $90K with the options and the mileage. You can get the build sheet and window sticker from the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky for about $150 so you'll know exactly how this car is optioned and what the sticker was when new. Have the dealership check it out, but you just scored big time.
@@philipparana9225 I just did a search a clean title they are selling for $89,900 -$92,900 with similar mileage with around 2-3k miles they sell for $95,900 all day long, one with 259 miles was $97,900.
What a gutz call $58,500 on flood Corvette with no start ! Hell it is not even my car but when you fired it up I was sooo HAPPY for you ! WAY TO GO !!!!
Maybe. Maybe not. You can buy a brand spanking new 2022 Stingray for about $78 - to $80 grand, if you do it right. Loaded. Not everything... but loaded nonetheless. Clean title. I don't really get paying basically $60K with fees and transport / travel.... to have a '21 with a flood title forever. I don't see it. KILLER car tho - no doubt about that, and I sure would love to have one. Red or Yellow for me on a car like this. They are amazing. And oh boy listen to that bad boy when it cranks up.

Whatever water was in it probably vaporized. (If there was any) I actually think it ended up there after the owner claimed water damage to his insurance (hence the title situation) because someone drove in heavy rain and it tripped a an electrical sensor. (90% of problems in newer cars are electric and if they’re not electric they’re fuel related). They didn’t know whether to take the plugs out and start it (to remove whatever water was in) or what to do. Same thing happened to me - tons of codes and eventually they just went off after I took it to a mechanic to clear them. Water can ruin any car w low or high miles but it’s not as bad as the untrained consumer believes …

A lot of cars that got “flooded out” especially newer cars was just people who couldn’t keep up with the payments and just told their insurance it got flooded to just get out of it and the insurance would just write it off
I would like to know the same thing like with the Mustang he bought a couple weeks ago there was nothing wrong with it well I guess the power seat motor was bad but besides that it was a pristine Ford Mustang I think it is just insurance fraud to get out of dept hence the reason our insurance goes up yearly, people trying to live a lavish lifestyle or keep up with the Jones in other words!!
Hey good deal on the vett. I bought the same car only in silver with the tan interior. Mine came out of Pennsylvanian and I couldn’t find any water damage either.
What I've found out before is that the oil rises above the water in the engine. I believe it's best to drain and inspect all fluids even if you check the levels and don't show water.
Let's think about it coparts mission is to sell their clients products to the highest bidder that's why you never pull a dip stick that looks like chocolate milk that doesn't mean it's not contaminated go easy it would be a shame to blow that engine
Great buy! Question like you said, I wander what or who decides if a car gets a salvage title or the certificate of destruction, also known as a death certificate in Florida. So many of the Hurricane Ian super cars got the cert of destruction... so Sad.
Mike really is like a kid at Christmas mind you , who wouldn't be? I can see you and Ivan fighting whos turn to drive it!!! Great buy guys, I'll look forward to what happens next!
put that thing in a closed off room with about 4 dehumidifiers going for a couple days. doors open, hood up, frunk up, sunroof off. get it as opened up as much as possible to let the dehumidifiers pull out as much moisture as they can. you would be surprised what winds up in the capture buckets. but keep the room closed up
That was a fun video, I understand your excitement I just bought a 2019 Grand Sport with 6000 miles, and you paid less for that C 8 than I did. You got a great deal!!
The most interesting thing about this is the suspense - Mike and Ivan will bring it back to showroom condition but then will they bring themselves to sell it or will they just have to keep it?
That is a steal for a Z51 HTC.. I have a 2020 Z51 LT3 HTC. For putting the top down unlock with the remote and hold the topdown button bottom left. You can only put the top up from inside the car on the drivers door. Hold the button up or push it down to do both functions. Must not have been a lot of water damage if it started and drove that easy. If it was submerged the electronics would be fried.
Dang dude you struck GOLD with that purchase! If I were you I would hang on to that one but I know you more than likely are going to flip it and make a couple grand it! You definitely can't hang on to everything
Not any kind of a bargain. As soon as any vehicle says flood on the title it's never worth more than 50% of a non-flooded vehicle. And a flooded vehicle shouldn't be driven until all fluids are changed. If the axle was under water, the bearings are probably trashed in it. Plus if any wiring was underwater, problems won't happen for a couple years, but all the connections will corrode. The only way to get a bargain on a floated vehicle is if you buy a cheap enough to replace all the wiring harnesses, any soft parts that had gotten wet, and the costs of all the fluids and such, totalling under 50% of current value.
Just so everyone knows...a insurance company will total a car if it "sat in" 8" inches or more of water...on the C8 that's the bottom of the rocker plate below the door...
You think they bought it right? I'm not saying they didn't.... but you can buy a brand spanking new one for $78-$82K ish.... mostly loaded. Why pay $60K for a used one with a FOREVER flood title? Honestly... I don't get it. Killer car tho. And looks like it is in great shape. But.....

It was still probably a little over $60,000 tax, fee's and all but still a great buy I just hope if they sell it they can make a good lick on it because if it's a rebuild title it may hurt it even if they didn't have to turn a bolt on the car I just hope it doesn't hurt it much!
@@joeysweet9045 a salvage title won't obscure the fact that it was a flood car (most likely a saltwater flood at that). You'd have to be a moron to purchase it no matter what kind of car it is.
