This song was just another pop song for me, until I heard this version. Then I understood. As an aside: She can act, she's funny, and boy can she sing! Bravo, Karen.

@@jimartinez2016 the marketing as a whole didn’t help. The tv spots didn’t really make it look any better than the name. Even first couple episodes played out about as I expected. Tuned in mostly for Karen Gillan and John Cho and ended up really liking it
It got cancelled not because the name, but because truth. Americans can't stand critics of their society.

Singing this song with emotions actually made me listen to the song for the first time. She does an amazing job with the line "fly like a bird through the night".
The first time I understood the depth and pain in this song was when I watched this rendition. That's what a good cover is meant to do and Karen absolutely nailed it.

On paper, this show sounded terrible, but the palpable chemistry between Cho & Gillan made it incredibly addictive. That said, it was actually quite witty and well-written as well. A shame it didn't draw a larger audience.

I was so frustrated when this show was cancelled. I'm used to seeing shows that I like being cancelled by ABC, but I truly enjoyed this little story and Gillan and Chu had such great chemistry. Such a shame.
I was just listening to the song while doing something else and then... My tears welled up. When I looked at the video, it all came to me. Her voice, her face, her expression, the direction of her looks... Everything. Karen Gillan, you are awesome.

Wonderful show. Became a Gillan fan because of this show. She's so underrated.

So glad to read comments of people missing «Selfie». It's 2019, I just saw «Endgame» some days ago, and I'm still missing the show and thinking I am the only one in this dimension to do so. It was so unfair when they cancelled it.

But yes, the plot concept was amazing, the actors brilliant and the romance between different raced leads long awaited and still it got canceled. I suffered, I cried, I was angry when they canceled Selfie I loved the series and especially the chemistry between Karen Gillan and John Cho. I hated the producers and everyone who decided to take my series out. Selfie always in my memory 😍

This show was my first real exposure to Karen Gillan, and I fell in love. To me she’s Eliza before Amy or even Nebula. Like I watched this whole show before I realized she was Nebula. I miss this show so much. Also this is the first time I’d heard this song too. (No I don’t live under a rock) so whenever I hear the original it just makes me think of this scene. It was so heartbreaking.
