@@surabhisahni3950 in Islam wearing items e.g silk clothes, gold jewellery etc., which used to be a defining item for women, aren't allowed for men on the pretext that men should not dress like a woman. At that time men would show off their wealth with gold ornaments. God put a restriction on it and classified it for women and also put a tax aka Zakat on it. However, silver and platinum rings are allowed to men.

But if someone wishes to wear it how is that haraam? I don't find gold masculine or feminine at all. It can be worn by anyone. Also, if a man wishes to dress like a girl that's his choice, no? Who are you, God or anyone else to interfere and judge?
