Hey Raul, i watched and love all your videos very informative and helpful tips! One question, maybe i just don't remember but do you also shoot a bunch of video footages for stock? Do you think a gimbal is a 'must-have' for stock videos?
Hi Jeanie, yes I also have stock videos although they are a small portion of my portfolio. Most of my videos were shot on a tripod with a fluid head. I do have several handheld videos but they are the slow motion type captured at high frame rates. Gimbals are essential if you plan to shoot hand held moving videos at lower framers rates. You can capture Panning, Tilt, and Zoom movements with a fluid head. You also have the option to use a Slider to capture lateral motion. It all depends on the type of videography you want to capture - that should dictate your equipment needs. Video editing Apps like Adobe Premier can work miracles for hand held captures but generally speaking stock videos should be smooth as silk. Happy New Year 🎊✨ Can you tell me why noon is the worst possible time although in noon we have a very large amount of light so less noise in the image. And also please do tell which is the best time of the day to shoot outdoor images?
Happy New Year! The “Golden Hour” is generally considered the best time to shoot because of the soft warm light. Mid day light is harsh, particularly for portrait photography. What you shoot will influence the best time of day decisions. For portraits, golden hour or a cloudy day are best since clouds create a natural soft box effect. For nature and landscapes the golden hour is best. Thanks!

Forgive me Raul, I don't understand the editorial rules it seems - many of the pics here have recognisable buildings in them (especially given that the signs help to pinpoint their location) so how can they be sold as commercial and not editorial? I know you are right I just need to understand why. Thanks in advance, Rich.
Richard, the commercial vs editorial rules are indeed confusing. Cityscape scenes with numerous buildings will be accepted as commercial as long as there are no trademarks in the image. If the image has a single building and the building is the main subject of the composition then a property release will be required for commercial submission otherwise it will be considered editorial. If the sign is the primary subject and there’s a single building in the background then a commercial submission is appropriate if the sign does not contain any artwork. The key aspect in determining commercial vs editorial is the main subject. Other factors such as depth of field also play a role in the determination. Hope I haven’t confused you further! 😀 thanks
