Reinier Paping, Evert van Benthem and Henk Angenent won the most appealing sports competition you can win in our country: the Elfstedentocht. Van Benthem even won it twice: in 1985 and 1986. In 1999, Van Benthem emigrated with his family to Canada to escape the annual procession of fans. Reinier Paping, the glorious winner of the barbaric Eleven Cities Tour of 1963, is now 86. Andere Tijden Sport hears from him that he would like to visit Evert van Benthem in Canada again. Henk Angenent, winner of the for the time being last Tour of the Tour in 1997, is also in favor of this. No sooner said than done.
