If you're curious why Ellie could kill those clickers with neck stabs, it's because they are technically alive. You can stab or shoot them in places that aren't calloused over with fungi. So anything that can kill a human can kill an infected.
wow, this is a small but overlooked detail for me. i fucking forget that they arent UNDEAD but just infected!!! and it immediately brings up sam's heartbreaking question again whether its still you or not inside... wow 😭😭
@@floydbanks7 deafness isn't a personality trait. If your hearing doesn't work, a fungal infection isn't going to make it work. If you pop an infected's kneecap they won't be able to walk. If a part of the body is damaged to the point of dysfunction it will remain dysfunctional even after infection. The only thing the infection does is stop the decomposition process after death, and it takes control over intact bodily functions. So, no, Sam still being deaf is not proof that he is still in there.
A reason why the infected came up there is because they probably heard the loud cars driving on the road above them and just followed the sound. There’s 20 years of infected down there and it was a loud explosion so they probably just communicated to where the loud sounds were coming from amongst each other.
Fun fact: Adam Basil, the actor who played the Bloater in this Episode is 6'6 Foot Tall (1.95 cm), and the full Bloater suit weight is at least 80 Pounds (40 Kg).
An interesting feature of the show so far is that real "brutality" is only shown to us when Ellie sees it. We see Joel beating the soldier to death in episode 1 because Ellie is there and sees it. Ellie tortures and kills the stalker in episode 3. We see Joel's sniper kills because Ellie sees them. We see Henry's death, Sam being shot and Kathleen's death. With all other killings (Old Sniper, Bryan) you only hear it because the camera is focused on Ellie while she doesn't see these killings herself. I found it really good to make Sam deaf. In the end, this opened the door for Sam to show Ellie the bite and then she could stay in the room with him without being attacked. He simply didn't hear her. Better than solved in the game and has given Ellie even more depth. She really hoped she could help Sam at that moment. In the game, Sam said nothing about his bite. Ellie entered his room the next morning and was attacked. The scream of Ellie here at the end went through and stuck.
I'm so obsessed with the show, I'm STILL watching a lot of reactions. (I really must stop!). Came across your channel. Really like you two. Great reactors and great couple. Thanks for reacting to this awesome show. ❤
I missed your reactions to this episode. This is one of the most heartbreaking episode of the show, and that's saying a lot. According to the people who played the game, Sam isn't deaf but they decided to make him deaf and I believe that made it even more heartbreaking.
15:20 You can really tell which people had a super safe life growing up in some QZ zone surrounded by walls as opposed to people that had to survive out in the wild. They're out there jumping for joy, making the most sound possible. Then they get shot at and goof again by trying to run out into the open. Ellie has a strong naive mindset too especially when it comes to people. If she didn't have main character plot armor she would have been dead a long time ago, or worse things could have happened to her..
The child actor they got to play the child Clicker I believe is a gymnast so she could move the way she did, it's sad b/c the children are the focus in this episode, as survivor, casualty and Infected....
Great reaction, but I feel that folks telling you to have tissue ready for an episode that’s going to be really sad is still kind of a spoiler even if they’re not giving details. Now you know that something tragic is going to happen to a character you care about.
The sniping scene where Joel is shooting clickers trying to keep them away from Henry, Sam & Ellie is straight from the game, although it might be raiders that you have to shoot…I can’t remember
Great reaction. Watched it with my Girlfriend. We knew what was coming. We were hoping for a remix of the characters in some way. Mazin and Druckmann found a way to make the show adaptation even more emotional 😢
Great reaction guys! Henry and Sam’s death scene definitely broke me but if you guys looked at the game’s version it was super heartbreaking with the music playing.
I knew what was coming having played the game (and I was speechless that time too), but since they'd changed Bill + Frank, I had a small bit of hope when Ellie tried using her blood to cure Sam... then it all went away once he turned around that day 😭
Kathleen's brother sounds like a true heart revolutionary with a great humanist vision. Too bad he isnt in the show. I want to see him - have lunch with him - see his story
Even though I know what is coming due to the game, I feel bad that I can't prep you all for it, cause I don't want to spoil anything for you both. I think this moment hits a bit harder in the game, especially because the game gives you a choice of who to save, and no matter who you choose, the result is the same with a slightly different outcome. One issue I did have with this episode was the child clicker being able to hear and track Ellie, even though there was a ton of other noise way louder than Ellie crawling through a vehicle. I guess the only thing I can say is, if they keep following along with the story beats of the game, keep that tissue on stand by.
It's annoying how people don't realize they're essentially spoiling when they say things like "zomg such a sad episode, it'll be a sad one." It's a blind reaction channel. When you say things like that it essentially prepares them for something to happen, defeating the purpose of a reaction channel. When you prepare a reactor for something it cheapens the reaction.
You called Elliie Eleven. You are so doping Stranger Things I've given to giving to to things to broken things. Lol Wendy you are SO time. Wendy you are SO SOO fine lol So so fine!!!! Lol!!!!! Dustin you are cute too. Wendy you are fine as eff!!! Dustin you are ok. Lol Wendy ..um lol . My bad Dus. But Wendy. For really EDIT: IVE
If Pedro Pascal is not nominated for best actor at every awards show this year THEN NO ONE DESERVES TO BE NOMINATED!!!! This was perhaps my most anticipated episode of the season and somehow it’s BETTER THAN THE GAME! Jackson looks beautiful and Gabriel Luna is as perfectly cast as Tommy as Pedro is for Joel. But what really got me were scenes of Joel clutching his heart from panic attacks and looking up to see a young woman who almost looks like Sarah, and when he was telling Tommy the truth that he believed that he was going to fail Ellie and get her killed. When Joel was getting teary eyed I cried at that scene, but when we got to my absolute favorite dramatic scene in the game when Joel and Ellie are talking about loss I lost it. That was my most anticipated scene of the entire series and not only did it live up to the hype, it exceeded it. And just like the game it broke me.😭😭😭😭

@Venate yup and he was still deaf, so yes they are still inside

28:04 The child clickers name is Skye Cowton. She is a contortionist. She was wearing a Blue's Clue shirt.

I like how there was no music playing during Henry and Sam’s death scene to allow you to fully feel the horror of the situation.
They did such a good job. Everyone was so well cast 😢❤
